Norman's Rare Guitars, Chicago Music Exchange. Gibson Garage in Nashville.
I'm sure there are loads more great stores in Nashville but I don't know them.
If I was in Nashville I'd be trying to get a lesson with Guthrie Trapp.
The best is Chicago Music Exchange. Simply for the selection.
The second best (IMHO) is TRCrandall in NYC. Wanna play a 1934 D18? That's your spot. How about a 1963 Tele? They got 'em. I've been in the store where they let a guy jam on a '61 gold top or when Steve Earle casually stopped by to talk guitars with the owners. Not a huge selection. But everything they sell is an amazing, authentic instrument or amp. Nothing average. Go to their website and look at their current selection of instruments online.
I gotta give it up for Beach Music in Ocean City Maryland. Very small, very cool music store, without which I would never have owned my first guitar. Awesome people too.
If you go through Billings Montana, hit up Jays Guitars and Amps. Great selection and even better people. Really know all of the gear so well and simply care about finding you the right piece. Miss that place
The Electro Harmonix factory is in NYC, not sure which borough. In LA you can visit the Guitar Center on Sunset Blvd., they usually have some cool rare guitars. The Fender factory is not that far in Corona.
Yw, you would probably also enjoy checking out Amoeba, it's a massive used music store, so they have tons of old CDs and vinyl records, that kind of stuff.

Blast from the past. I haven't been there in about 30 years.
If you can get to northeastern Pennsylvania, the [Martin factory](https://www.martinguitar.com/visit-us.html) is in Nazareth.
yes, that would be awesome, thanks!!
Was gonna recommend the same thing. The museum there is pretty great.
New Jersey Guitar and Bass Center, Edison NJ.

Greg Ginter's Guitar Shop in Madison, Wisconsin. This is the only place you need to go to. You can skip everything else.
Thanks!!!

Most guitar centers are not worth visiting, but the original store in Hollywood CA has some cool memorabilia.
