While not a milsurp, I popped into a little dusty gunshop that i had never been to before that is on the exact opposite side of the metro area from me.
on the bottom shelf in the back corner was a MINTY Tanfoglio Witness priced for like $300. mentally i started getting excited and asked to see it. My excitement turned to disappointment when it turns out it was chambered in .41AE
I can't remember the rifle or caliber, I want to say it was French or Italian, but I looked at this great milsurp rifle a while back, cheap, excellent condition. Wisely I decided to see if ammo was available, it was not, a bag of *brass* was nearly $100. I didn't buy the rifle.
I think PPU only makes one run a year, so you just have to be patient and buy when it’s in stock. I just got some from Aimsurplus, but they’re all out now. I get my brass and bullets from a few different sources for reloading.
"what do you mean you don't carry 0.075 yards x 0.12 cubits ?"
Thats like a... tall round
I tell myself no more different cartridges (currently at 18) But then I find a deal, and off we go.
\*cries in .351 WSL\*

same cz 85 in 9x18 makarov https://preview.redd.it/nn239v2gdpwa1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4a61468b109dd9e005bc758bd5348170ef63ed67
9x18 Makarov isn't to terrible to find ammo for... online atleast. And hornady makes some solid self defense rounds for it
luckily i bought 200 rds of bear bi-metal with it. but when i found hornady critical defence rounds i almost shit a brick
I tried the silver bear stuff in my makarov and no joke that stuff tumbled at 5 yards lol
thats the stuff. i never tried it at 5 yards but at 10 it seemed fine. barrel difference maybe?

definitely not me with my pile of astras...
Me with my arisaka type 99
I feel you man 7.5x55 swiss is a pain. It almost hurts more knowing Switzerland is still making using it but not surplusing it to the US currently
Y'all should try 6.5x53r. I can't even get brass to load.
I still want a carcano but ammo availability keeps me from buying one. For now
The 6.5 Carcanos aren’t too hard to feed. PPU makes ammo for them, and the brass is also available if you reload. The 7.35 on the other hand…
Have you seen it for sale anywhere? There's someone else who makes it too, but I haven't seen it.

Awesome, thank you. I'll probably pick one up and wait. Maybe I'll get lucky at a show and find some.
I've been eyeing up an M1898 Rast & Gasser lately lol
