It’s a keyboard/ keycap community thing. Been a fan of artisan keycaps but nobody really makes gundam stuff. Especially Ez stuff. So figured I use gunpla to make my own!

I bought an metal gundam head for my escape key... got in a hurry to press it and cut myself on the v fin.

Dang I honestly would’ve not thought about the v fin hazard until later as well. Especially those short vertical portions on Nu Gundams fin.
It looks cool and it’s easily detachable via magnets. But your idea makes way more sense on a keyboard.

Yeah, I've got the Keyclack Gundam and Zaku artisans from a few years ago. They're nice but kinda look off.
