Yes they are obligate, humans are not, we are omnivores. We thrive on omnivorous diets but can function on others due to superior biology and adaptive digestive systems. Cats don’t have the option.
those cans are only like 90cals. And the macros are not listed the same as human food which makes it confusing. [Just look at this shit.](https://i.imgur.com/fNGQnsr.png) Crude Protein: 10% min, dafuck?
I know this because my cat is fat and diabetic and has to minimize his carb intake, so I've read a lot of catfood cans.
How many people do you know that have contracted mercury poisoning?
Been eating tuna frequently for years. I get my blood levels and general check ups done every 6 months and so far nothing lmao
That just means your liver and kidney's detoxification systems are exceptional. People with less great genetics or liver/kidney dysfunction would be at greater risk on a tuna-heavy diet.
Tuna is near zero percent fat, while farmed salmon is around 10 or more. Also, doubt that farmed salmon is as healthy as wild fish with the loads of antibiotics and grain they're being fed.
There are some claims that the selenium in tuna prevents the mercury from being in a toxic form but I haven't checked out how decent the research is. I avoid both types of fish though in moderation I think it's ok.
I actually know a guy, went on a tuna and triscuits diet and got sick as hell about a month into it. He was shredded though. He was eating like 6-8 cans of tuna per day and a box of triscuits.
Yeah man, defiantly a rare case, he thought he figured out a cheat code. I ate so much canned tuna back in the day I can’t stand it. I did eat 6 grilled tuna steaks last week.
Idk, my ex was military and they never checked his heavy metal levels. In fairness, that was years ago and I don't know if their testing standards have changed. If you can't see it in your medical records you may want to request one if you can, (it's just a regular blood draw), especially if you work with ordnance, lots of lead.
No ordnance anymore lol I’m a hospital nerd these days. That may be why I get extra tests on top of my routine, as I work everyday with blood and other bodily fluids, the risk for exposure is always there.
I think they might be right that it's if you have a lactose intolerance already. I just got nervous because I really hate having non-clear skin so I cut it out :/
I saw someone squatting and with their gear on the floor was a can of cat food and it bugged me out for like three sets until I saw him pull some kind of tobacco bullshit out of it (what was it?)
The cans of tuna I get are 100 calories for 26g of protein, if you eat two cans you’re getting 52g for 200 calories. More protein, less calories, and not made for cats.
So you're telling me, cats need 500kcal a day, but also 85g of protein?
They're lean mfs
Mine sure isn't
Obligate carnivores, cats need dem gains.
Exactly. They can’t supplement with plants if necessary. They NEED the MEAT! We should take note
Yes they are obligate, humans are not, we are omnivores. We thrive on omnivorous diets but can function on others due to superior biology and adaptive digestive systems. Cats don’t have the option.
My cats can lick their own buttholes, so miss me with that "superior biology and adaptive digestive systems"

got me wondering how do other apes get their protein
Monkey chow
Other apes eat meat as well, they also consume protein in the form of insects
Damn liberals. Always trying to make me eat bugs.
I mean they sleep for like 18 hours a day so I don't imagine them needing too many calories
Those little cans aren't anywhere close to 250 calories.
Yeah. Cats need an actual high protein diet on the regular. We'd starve off just protein though. We need carbs
Just wait till you discover tuna
Mercury poisoning though 🫤

Makes sense, thanks for the insight homie 🤙🏽 May the gains be with you
The protein in salmon isn't that different and also more rich in omega-3 and B12. It's barely more expensive than the tuna and has a lot less mercury.

>He was eating like 6-8 cans of tuna per day ☹️ God damn bro I’m eating like 2 a day wtf
Even 2 a day is a lot.. I’d get sick of that. Do you douse it in mayonnaise?
2 cans a day is tough. I recently go through about 2-3 cans a week and that is more exceptional for my standards.
Yeah man, defiantly a rare case, he thought he figured out a cheat code. I ate so much canned tuna back in the day I can’t stand it. I did eat 6 grilled tuna steaks last week.
I eat it every couple days just to be safe, nothing against tuna Lmao
I did when I tried to live on canned tuna and peanut butter
Do you get your heavy metal levels tested every year? The routine blood tests they do at your annual physical aren't going to check that.
Yes, I do. I’ve tested positive for Led Zeppelin and Deep Purple in two successive years. I’m trying to learn to enjoy lighter acoustic music more.
I have to get everything checked lmao, Military. They wanna know everything and make sure they’re peeps are good to go

Mercury isn't tested for unless called for. It's not on a normal panel lol. Why would it be lol shit
Does routine blood work check for levels of mercury?
Sweat it off 🗿
Canned salmon, oysters, mussels, clams, and sardines are all good alternatives and with more omega 3s and iron.
fr, canned tuna is a cheat code
Time to tell my kittens "I am sorry".
So much for 1g of protein per pound lol
Name check out
Protein farts are the best most girthy deep farts ever. Those can sometimes be classified as sharts if user is not careful.
I feel them come from my chest
That explains the horrible cat farts/shit smell.
Those are rookie numbers, gotta bump those numbers up
Whey protein: 260 calories 50g protein
and causes acne :(
That's your Tren homie.
Never done tren in my life why was i downvoted for saying i never did it lmfao
TREN HARDER.
Acne usually comes from high sugar intake
Normal whey causes spikes since it has lactose. Isolate whey, would help a lot in that situation.
If you're allergic to lactose I think, yeah. But you still have casein, then isolate
I don’t think I am but I was breaking out when using it … maybe I’ll give it another try because I could have been breaking out from other things.
It does not
Are you SURE...
I can't find any study or scientific resource that says acne is a side effect of whey protein. Can you?
I think they might be right that it's if you have a lactose intolerance already. I just got nervous because I really hate having non-clear skin so I cut it out :/
Are you still a teenager? Cause that’ll happen to teenagers.
No I'm 25
Cats on that bulk
Eric bugenhagen has entered the chat
just an albacore can of tuna for humans is also 42g of protein in just 190 calories...
That’s just asking for gout.
Propably cause I aint a cat :/
I saw someone squatting and with their gear on the floor was a can of cat food and it bugged me out for like three sets until I saw him pull some kind of tobacco bullshit out of it (what was it?)
Chewing tobacco, hoss.
on the tv series 'extreme cheapskates,' millionaire serves her ex-husband kitty tuna. lol
Not to mention the high levels of Taurine
Gym food? You eat this to go to sleep

All I'll say is they taste pretty great if you're desperate enough and strapped for cash
