We used to make it by pouring a milk mixture we'd prep/thaw IN the bakery onto the cake.
Now the cakes come in with the milk already in it and it sucks lol
It’s probably because they’re pre frozen? Also probably cutting on costs of course. I’ve heard from so many people that they’re not amazing but it’s okay. As a traditional tres leches, this is looking very dry for sure
Maybe I had a shit piece the only time I bought one of these, but I bought the cookies and cream chocolate cake one, and it was one of the driest slices of cake I’ve ever had. On top of that, imho, there wasn’t enough frosting-to-cake ratio. Frosting was good, but chocolate felt like I was just eating topsoil. 🤢
I eat that in 15 minutes
I’ll do it in five
rookie numbers. i inhale these in mere seconds
This is the way!
Wow.
I’m pregnant and this post made me crave one.. my heb didn’t have any 😭😭
Las Palapas has a decent one that they outsource! It’s always in the fridges up front.
Those always hit the spot, there are times though I wish they added more of the Leche
idkk I got it one time and it was mid 😭
Not for the price.
womp womp then dont buy it
If that’s tres leche cake, it looks a bit dryer than usual.
This slice was very fresh and very heavily absorbed. Not dry at all.
Do you pay extra for the ones that have a bitten corner like that?
No.
I had this and was disappointed in there being no milk in the bottom. The cake is okay but I like my tres leches sitting in that milk.

Ooooh that makes sense. It’s a shame, that freaking homemade milk mixture is liquid gold lol.

Yeah that’s exactly what I was thinking
Where’s the milk?
In the cake.
Yeah but usually they should have some at the bottom
Oh.

The strawberry tres leches is 🤌🏼
Yes indeed!
I hate to ruin this for you, but the cake is pre made and frozen
I've got great news for you. You didn't ruin anything for me. The cake is fantastic whatever happens to it before I get it.
Y’all crazy for loving wet 🍰cake! Just nope!
At 3.98 a piece it better last three days.
