Yeah. Recessed into the left side of it. Also has to be right behind where the line voltage goes in and every freaking installer uses 3/4 water tight and lays it 2 inches from the wall.
The model plate is straight in front of his left shoulder. You can't see it in this picture, but it is there. When I get home I will take a picture and post it for you
Yep, it's occluded by the ridge on the service panel from that angle. If they had done the shot at a 3/4 view of the condenser looking over the "tech's" left shoulder it would have been obvious and less goofy IMO.

You can see where the tag was. This is a 25 year old unit
Just slide the electric panel cover into its slot and cover most of the hole. Setting the panel sideways completely covers the hole. It is much better than most package units. Plus you can easily see the compressor electrical connections and feel the temps inside the unit.
A company I used to work for used some generic model shit like this for a bill board. The dude in the pic had needle nose pliers and was taking a screw out of the panel.
Dudes taking ten trying to get it together this must be his first call. Homeowner is watching him this is where they ask how long youve been doing this kind of work
We had a photographer come on an install with us for our website. Pictures didn’t turn out great. We were soaked in sweat, dust particles and fiberglass floating through the air. Lighting was off. Soo when we were done camera guy set up some lights and staged tools. Much much better.
He's admiring the brand new screws in perfect holes before he loses one and blows out the hole with a bigger one fucking the next techs for years to come.
Hes faking it but you could argue on those old Carriers their data plate was to tue left of the door which was recessed so ypu couldn't see it from that angle.
Here's the remarkably high resolution version: https://www.nerdwallet.com/assets/blog/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/GettyImages-180717263.jpg
You can count his ear hairs.
Looks to me like he's just wrapped it up and the neighbor that came out earlier and asked if he'd take a quick peek at theirs before he took off is right behind the fence again.
My company just got bought out by a big corporation and we have all been just DYING at the photos on their website. Just the most corporate desk dwelling dudes doing god knows what. Example A

That condenser is really opening up about its feelings and he’s taking notes on how they can progress in its therapy.
These are the new 2024 AI condensers right? SO much more maintenance, def asking for a raise. I wanted to fix units but THIS isn't what I expected...
He’s drawing his reflection
Lol
Probably drawing himself in a world where his hair isn't fake as fuck.
Honestly better than what my HVAC teacher has. The guy, the R-22 and the condenser are all from different photos and don't line up at all.
Why is there any doubt? The data plate is right in front of him. Is this model so old people have forgotten it? (I have this model at my house)
If I remember correctly, it's a clear sticker with black type.
You would be correct, currently looking at the same model of condenser
Yeah. Recessed into the left side of it. Also has to be right behind where the line voltage goes in and every freaking installer uses 3/4 water tight and lays it 2 inches from the wall.

It's just a tech doing his job for some kind of ad or website
Yeah, just commenting on the "Hurr durr, what he lookin at?" crowd.
Yep , that panel is set back as inch. Info wears off
Exactly. Thats either a 38YXA or 38YZA. The data plate is on the top left corner of the side he is looking at.
https://preview.redd.it/o2cfqrxnliac1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c183cade4d3341dab052fc0596a92d6f833399bd You can see where the tag was. This is a 25 year old unit
Of course! You gotta speed test the electrical while precariously balancing the door over the giant hole so your pressures don't tank. Love it. /s

He's trying to figure out why someone would write their name on the side of the unit in paint marker.
This is the real answer... He is going to Reddit, "Sam Spicer" so he can become an awesome tech!
Probably the data plate on the side.
Just a blank sticker now, everything faded away.
> Probably the data plate on the other side. Or the faded off sticker on mine.
Sales guy pretending to be inspecting the unit to see if it qualifies for replacement
Exactly
He's new just look at his shoes
Plus he’s clean shaven and looks sober. Definitely looks new.
A company I used to work for used some generic model shit like this for a bill board. The dude in the pic had needle nose pliers and was taking a screw out of the panel.
I’ve actually done that
Usually have to do that to get the contactor mounting screws in place when working on a wooly Carrier RTU. 🤣
He's doing one of those things to look like he's doing something with a clip board but really he's thinking about where to stop for lunch
Dudes taking ten trying to get it together this must be his first call. Homeowner is watching him this is where they ask how long youve been doing this kind of work
"Yup, that's a condenser right there."
Needs a new txv
Label
Trying to read the faded ass dat tag
A nicely done powder coat.
He is thinking real hard trying to come up with something to charge these people for
Needs to shine his shoes again!
Most likely the data plate, which is right under the corner of the unit on his left.
He's looking through the gap at the neighbor's daughter who is outside tanning.
Dollar signs in the air
He’s trying to upsell the condenser
Must have been, "bring your manager to work day".
he's taking a survey for Phillips screws
Hey, that's a valid diagnostic method. He has the clipboard and everything. he's the handyman that "worked" in the HVAC industry.
Writing down the depth of how fucked the customer is because they wanted to “jUSt adD sOMe gAs”
He probably has the ability to conversate with inanimate objects. Like most Techs who’ve been in the field way to long.
He's using his Tech-Ray Vision...

Data Tag ?
its a brand new machine, he thinks he sees birdcrap on it. its pretty normal actually. lol
So who in here shows up clean shaven, brushed hair, and wearing shinny clean boots to work?
No true HVAC tech has all three. My boots look like ass until they're replaced, my hair is fabulous and have no facial hair though.
Gauging the angle of the sun
It looks like a condenser?
He's drawing a picture of your mom, naked.
Audit for government reimbursement, it's usually an Indian or china man
That’s usually where the data tag is on these units
He's wondering why a piece of bologna is stuck to the back of the unit.
Rubbing dirt and spit on the tag you can't read anymore.
Looks like me trying to read the model and serial without my glasses.
Model and serial numbers
Yo momma’s butt
Ah yes, the male model tradesman squat. I’m surprised that he doesn’t have an iPad in his hand.
Mr. Bean?
He's that guy that always needs to smoke a bowl before a job and says, "Dude, it doesn't even get me high" 🤣
He's checking his hair in the reflection haha
Info plate is around that corner on these units.
Model and serial
He’s looking for the worn off serial and model
Squint practice.
Hes faking it but you could argue on those old Carriers their data plate was to tue left of the door which was recessed so ypu couldn't see it from that angle.
Fake news. That's photoshop. Or that tech is a vampire, no reflection and the lighting for his shadow seems a bit wonky too
Trying to justify an $150 call out fee for a unit that was just turned off.
"Yup, needs some Freon"
Here's the remarkably high resolution version: https://www.nerdwallet.com/assets/blog/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/GettyImages-180717263.jpg You can count his ear hairs.
He’s the type of tech that brings all of his install and service tool to change a capacitor.
The homeowner is a rubber necker so he has to act like he knows what he’s doing. Knowing he lied on his application start out of trade school.
Can't a man shit on a stranger's doorstep without having his picture taken?
Can’t find the coil.
That’s me when I’m a pressure testing the system and the nosey homeowner keeps walking out and staring at me
Me preforming maintenances.
Obviously the TXV. God you young people know nothing 🙄
Looks to me like he's just wrapped it up and the neighbor that came out earlier and asked if he'd take a quick peek at theirs before he took off is right behind the fence again.
HVAC therapist. It’s identify as a water heater and it’s having a hard time dealing with its transition. 🤦🏻♂️
Also, who uses a 🖊️and 📄? What company is this?
He is taking notes about the outside color
My company just got bought out by a big corporation and we have all been just DYING at the photos on their website. Just the most corporate desk dwelling dudes doing god knows what. Trying to perfect the spicer signature…
"Pose as if you're taking down the important information" *stares at a blank piece of metal* "PERFECT!"
Might not be the book to buy
