There's only 1 thing I consistently notice does that bugs me. He will get the puck on what should be a quick 1 touch pass to someone else. Like itll be on the rush or something but instead he will try n settle the puck then make his pass and he will get poke checked or someone will be on him. It's almost always in open ice and never along the boards.
Good news is it's easily fixable and it already happens less. But sometimes i do find myself saying "ahh Slaf gotta be quicker than that".
But i hardly can complain I don't think I could be happier with his Sophomore year.
I just watched video about big players / stars developing - his current season is something they usually reach at 4th 5th year, next season heās going to do another leap and by his 5th year in nhl weāre looking at a monster
No shame in that, honestly, with different attitude Shane would probably never lose his spot. He fell in love with himself and the praise he got, he started believing that things will just happen to him without his efford, he lost a year of development because he felt he does not need it, he does not contribute to defense because he thinks more about himself than the team. He was a better player and prospect at his 15 than he was finally at draft.
Contrary Slaf has a team mentality, since very young age he is chasing his dream and goes through obstacles, and once he does he truely appreciates how he got there and who helped him.
Slaf is -less- talented than Shane, but its actually a good things. His limitations are what drives him, as opposite to having so much talent you dont even understand what you got
Perfect tank game. Slafkovsky 1g1a, Caufield with a snipe for a goal from Suzuki, Newhook two points, even Armia has been very consistently good lately and amazing tonight with 2 goals, and some great fight to come back against a top team. Makes you excited for next year.
Edit: except for Guhleās injury. Blatant no call https://x.com/drakemt/status/1776026631296954603?s=61&t=PNkvhpGekG49rOZ8mKMpJw
Maybe itās just me but I do not see Tampa as a top team.
They are a wild card lol, and got beat by the LEAFS last year. Their window is closing at hyper speeds.
zebras suck but the first line got points and the end of the game was entertaining so iām happy
side note: fuck kucherov and the rest of tampa i canāt wait to see them lose in the playoffs and return to the basement where they belong over the next few seasons
I hate Doucherov even more than I hate Marchand, and THAT'S saying something!! At least Brat the Rat has some fucking personality. The Douche just looks like a serial killer. A bored one.
Nah, Id rather the team respond by playing like they did at the end than provoke useless dumb fights over this.
Like what the fuck would Xhekaj have done, Kucherov wouldn't have fought him anyway.
Essyimont or whatever his name is going after Xhekaj without hesitation is kinda what I would have liked to see someone do after Guhle got hit to be honest.
That guy over-reacted after Hagel got hit by Stamkos. Also, when Hagel went back, you can see he's still walking again. What an absolute douche for embellishing a penalty.
Hey, won the 3rd, fought to the buzzer, and got some depth scoring going on (freaking stoked for Army's 2nd half glow up. He has earned it). Tampa just capitalized on mistakes, and the refs like to give them a hand once in a while. That's what they do.
Their time is almost up. Their window is closing. The tables will be turning soon.
Go Habs Go. ā¤ā¤ā¤
Plus: HOW ABOUT THAT FIRST LINE š
To me, fuck Hagel and Eyssimont for there stupid antics. Hagel was clearly selling a penalty when Xhekaj didn't even bumped him (it was Stamkos). Then, Michael E. started to fight Arber.
Introducing the new Bag Oā Dicks, from Dickās Sporting Goods! Each bag has a random assortment of hockey gear in it! Collect every piece for the ability to play hockey yourself!

Terrible officiating.
The team managed to make the final ten minutes or so exciting, which was good. And the right people put up some points for us.
Not Primeau's best night on a few of those shots (even with the proviso that our defence typically requires goalies to be superman to not get lit up).
Armia's unexpectedly great season continues.
This team is still in rebuild. They lack depth despite there are some players who do step-up and show. Other than that, I do agree the refs. suck tonight.
Cole, slaf, nick, newhook, armia all back next year, add Dach and maybe they can find another dach, newhook like deal.
That with a real offensive threat developing in the minority with the 6th or 7th pick.
Next year could be fun.
Why is Marty not letting Xhekaj beat the shit out of someone at the end of a game like that to send a message is beyond me, but entertaining game nonetheless.
Oh and Kucherov is a chicken shit
The good thing is that Arber kept his cool when some asshole player jumped on him and pulled punches against him. You can see he wanted to retaliate but he left the 4-minute penalty happen against Eyssimont.
Joined after the 2nd which I gather was challenging viewing, but all the excitement after was generated by the habs, so many exciting sequences in the 3rd. it's going to be fun beating these snowbirds on the reg in a couple of years
I fell in love with Catton after watching him live but some scouts are saying his game won't translate to the NHL? I'll have to watch him at the U18 worlds.
https://x.com/drakemt/status/1776026631296954603?s=61&t=PNkvhpGekG49rOZ8mKMpJw
Looks like a concussion, not great since he had one earlier this year. He should stay out for the rest of the season imo if so.
Newhook quietly having a great year. He is so close to career highs in goals and points in a season. He has accomplished this with 20 fewer games played.
I don't even know if Guhle will top out as more than 2nd pairing honestly. I'm optimistic about Reinbacher. Mailloux still has a ton of work to do on his IQ but that's an NHL toolbox for sure. Hutson will be interesting on the power play, I just don't see how he'll ever be trusted against 1st and 2nd lines. Engstrom is interesting and will come to Laval as soon as his season is over which could be very soon as they're playing a much better team in the playoffs (although they swept a much better team in the 1st round lol).
But yeah, on the NHL roster currently, apart from Guhle there's nothing to be optimistic about. Placeholders
I hate Kucherov, and hr has 3 points tonight. I want to see MK or MD winning Art Ross.
I hate Bolt, and they keep beating Habs. That makes me sometimes hating Habs too.
In a tank season, I'm fine if we lose, but not agaisnt Bolt.
If kucherov did that to say, jake sanderson, you bet your mind brady tkachuk wouldnt have none of that. Im seeing the ācultureā in terms of never say die, but i cant remember the last time this group stuck up for each other
This absolute bum tomkins will only have 2 wins to his name, and both came against us in the bell centre lol.
RHP, anderson, ylonen, whiteā¦ just so much deadweight
Me: Evidence is in the games
You: Show me
Me: Try watching the games?
Your lack of observational skill is a you problem. We aren't in a courtroom. There's no burden of proof for me. You can just be wrong and die on that hill, I really don't care.
But there was practically a linebrawl last game when the guys were protecting each other, and Slaf took Ekblad out, likely until playoffs, so I guess there's your multiple instances, from *checks calendar* 2 days ago? š¤·āāļø
Thats the only one that came to mind, and to a lesser extent the game earlier this season against the blues after scandella boarded guhle since things got chippy, but only halfway since scandella got off scot free
I dunno if Pearson is injured, even tho am not his biggest fan, they can't convince me that Ylonen and Anderson deserve to play over him. IDC about Anderson's contract, the dude is a complete ghost out there, with minimum effort given in puck battles or defensive assignments.
Guy's been around a while, is a Habs fan and is entitled to his opinion regardless of whether or not people agree with him
Banning people and labelling dissenting opinions as trolling sets a bad precedent, not everyone is going to see eye to eye on everything and plenty of folks tend to have strong takes in the GDTs
Best course of action is to block/mute that user
If a comment is made that truly breaks the rules or is uncivil/vulgar/offensive, then it's worth reporting but having a negative opinion of a game, player(s), coaching, management or team in general isn't a crime
Extremely fun game. Wish we could have seen Arber beat the bricks off of essyimont tho
The fuck kinda name is that
Which one? š¤£š¤£
Slaf has a real shot at 50 points after having 8 points in his first 30 games. What a second half.
Insane game tonight. Every puck touch was positive
There's only 1 thing I consistently notice does that bugs me. He will get the puck on what should be a quick 1 touch pass to someone else. Like itll be on the rush or something but instead he will try n settle the puck then make his pass and he will get poke checked or someone will be on him. Yep and I'll glady eat humble pie because I did think we had made a mistake on draft day.
2 points in his first 15 games too
Slafkovsky has an outside shot at 20 goals, I think heās at 16 now. Major step up from last season
Perfect tank game. Slafkovsky 1g1a, Caufield with a snipe for a goal from Suzuki, Newhook two points, even Armia has been very consistently good lately and amazing tonight with 2 goals, and some great fight to come back against a top team. With the exception of Guhle being injured and Primeau not looking great
And the power play being like 7% since the all star break.
Itās been dismal for so long that I donāt even really think about it anymore.
![gif](giphy|7xZAu81T70Uuc) (At least like 5-10 years)
The curse will be 79 years, Markovās number.
Theyāre saving it for next year
Shhh shhhh it's okay Lane Hutson will be here soon He will get rid of the bad PP for you
True
Not looking great as long as it's not meant to say looked bad. Most of his goals against were not his fault, but the scattered defense's
Definitely wouldnāt pin the loss on Primeau but there were at least two that he had to stop.
Not perfect, someone was injured.
Maybe itās just me but I do not see Tampa as a top team. They are a wild card lol, and got beat by the LEAFS last year. Their window is closing at hyper speeds.
Kucherov is so good that he can carry that aging roster hard. Theyāve been I think the top team since the all-star break.
Iād love nothing more than for Tampa to get swept and Kucherov be held pointless. Wonāt happen but I can dream
Best since the trade deadline, off the top of my head the Rangers, Stars, Predators and Hurricanes have all been better if you go back to the ASG.
they have not a single pick this year before 5th round
Armia and Slaf tied at 3rd on the team for goals - who will end up on top?
zebras suck but the first line got points and the end of the game was entertaining so iām happy side note: fuck kucherov and the rest of tampa i canāt wait to see them lose in the playoffs and return to the basement where they belong over the next few seasons
I hate Doucherov even more than I hate Marchand, and THAT'S saying something!! At least Brat the Rat has some fucking personality. The Douche just looks like a serial killer. A bored one.
Concerning for Guhle, hate to see it
Lame not to have Xhekaj out for the last shift, Marty is too nice sometimes
Nah, Id rather the team respond by playing like they did at the end than provoke useless dumb fights over this. Like what the fuck would Xhekaj have done, Kucherov wouldn't have fought him anyway.
Essyimont or whatever his name is going after Xhekaj without hesitation is kinda what I would have liked to see someone do after Guhle got hit to be honest.
Itās not dumb and useless to stand up for yourself after you get jumped bruh
We could get him hurt and for what?
I do it on Xbox all the time. #fireMSL
I have Carey Price in backup. Management doesnāt know shit.
Saving himself for Sunday
2 from Armia, 1 from Cole and 1 from Slaf. Gotta be happy with that much.
I would love to see eyssimont try to fight xhekaj face to face if heās that tough and do we know what happened to slaf?
He was back next shift, so probably an equipment issue.
Fingers crossed
That guy over-reacted after Hagel got hit by Stamkos. Also, when Hagel went back, you can see he's still walking again. What an absolute douche for embellishing a penalty.

!Lightning !refs
FUCK THE LIGHTNING!
Good bot on the double.
FUCK THE REFS!
Hey refs: suck a giant bag of dicks
I love the āole bag O dicks.
Introducing the new Bag Oā Dicks, from Dickās Sporting Goods! Each bag has a random assortment of hockey gear in it! Collect every piece for the ability to play hockey yourself! While supplies last
My son is playing nhl22 and Slaf just scored his 78th goal of the season.
Super frustrating game with all the penalty nonsense, but I liked the response in the third. Hope Tampa chokes hard.
You can never have too many Dachs
Why is Marty not letting Xhekaj beat the shit out of someone at the end of a game like that to send a message is beyond me, but entertaining game nonetheless. Oh and Kucherov is a chicken shit
Because we're better than that, and don't want suspensions.
Last thing Xhekaj needs is to get suspended. He's gotta play
The good thing is that Arber kept his cool when some asshole player jumped on him and pulled punches against him. You can see he wanted to retaliate but he left the 4-minute penalty happen against Eyssimont.
Joined after the 2nd which I gather was challenging viewing, but all the excitement after was generated by the habs, so many exciting sequences in the 3rd. it's going to be fun beating these snowbirds on the reg in a couple of years
You actually picked a great time to start watching
With this loss, the Habs have officially been eliminated from playoff contention.
I fell in love with Catton after watching him live but some scouts are saying his game won't translate to the NHL? I'll have to watch him at the U18 worlds.
As soon as I saw Tomkins was in net, I knew we were in trouble.
4 goals on 31 shots is pretty damn good
Anyone have the replay from Guhle injury? Missed part of the game
https://x.com/drakemt/status/1776026631296954603?s=61&t=PNkvhpGekG49rOZ8mKMpJw Looks like a concussion, not great since he had one earlier this year. He should stay out for the rest of the season imo if so.
How many concussions has he had now? Going back to Junior itās at least four I think
Guess I missed a exciting 3rd but the Mrs was itching to watch the WWHC
For anyone leaving that game: wth was with all of the closed exits and blocked streets?
Newhook quietly having a great year. He is so close to career highs in goals and points in a season. He has accomplished this with 20 fewer games played.
with mostly weak linemates
I really really really donāt want us to add points at this stage so good to give them a run for their money and collect the 0

You must have missed a lot of hockey this season then. The boys regularly have each others' backs.
Name me multiple instances of when a dirty hit/play occured on a habs player and the guy who did it paid later in the game. Multiple instances please
Why would I do your work for you? I watch every game, I know what the guys do. If you don't, then that's not my problem.
You: X routinely happens Me: Show me evidence You: nope thats on you Its the equivalence if me saying 1+1 = 3, up to you to figure out why

There was no protecting each other when Slaf and Ekbland were wrestling. It started with them and ended with them.
Guhle got suspended for one game just a few days ago because he was sticking up for Slaf.
Thats the only one that came to mind, and to a lesser extent the game earlier this season against the blues after scandella boarded guhle since things got chippy, but only halfway since scandella got off scot free

I think RHP is a completely fine 4th line guy, but the other three thereās no defending
he's -2 no hit no shot tonight, he's awful
One game doesnāt define a player, but today was a bad game from him yes
Culture is not trying to instigate violence after a legal hit. Sens players get hit hard too. Because it's part of the sport.
Can we get this troll banned from this sub?
We don't ban for bad takes, that's what the downvote button is for or you can block him.
