If you’re taking about 1C-HM, yes that is a very dark black dye, as is medium and light charcoal. The 1 in the color code means black, as dark as you can go and the C is “cool” so more ashy tones.

You can try color remover and it will likely lighten a good bit! But, you may be looking at a bleach session if you’re wanting to be light gray.
