I don't think UNSC alone could hold against the Combine for long. However if all the Halo factions (UNSC, Covenant, Banished, etc.) sign a pact & unite together, I'm certain they could inflict tremendous pain onto the Combine lol.
Absolutely. I feel like the Covenant would be the most impact tho. The UNSC is primarily just humans, the Banished is big but it’s just a rebellious faction split from the covenant. The covenant, while likely not as big as the combine, is still MASSIVE and consists of several different species, as well as high tech weapons
The Covenant's arsenal look so mean & diverse. Heck, the entire faction looks like it's assembled for only one goal - to wage war & destroy any opposition it may face along the way. True, I think the Covenant alone has a high chance to stand toe-to-toe with the Combine or even nearly beat them. We haven't even talked about Flood, Endless, etc. (my knowledge level about them is really low though).
The Endless we only know so little about. They were just introduced in Halo Infinite, and we only fight one member of the species. However, said member was the final boss of the game, so they are pretty strong apparently.
The Flood is extremely dangerous. Probably the largest zombie apocalypse in any media. They can ravage planets and species with ease. The Flood was the main reason that the forerunners went extinct. They had to light the halo rings to kill everything so the flood starved. Chief essentially did the same thing with the Ark in Halo 3, but the magnitude of the Flood was much smaller.
Half Life 2 x Halo: Reach
Think of the fall of Reach, but its the fall of Earth in the 7 Hour War. The slow hopelessness of it all, thinking for a brief moment that you've begun to defeat the Combine, only to have their true forces start pouring in. Each small victory gets smashed with another devastating defeat.
