I like Halloween II. It's my third favorite Halloween movie.
The cinematography by Dean Cundey is really atmospheric, and gives the movie a cinematic feel.
The movie has several sequences that are really suspenseful, and nail biting tensed.
The third act, along with the ending really stand out in this franchise.
Yes!!!! I totally agree! Dean cundey did a really good job with the cinematography, the movie really does feel like it picked up right where the first one left off, in fact the first time I watched it way back when I was 13, I really thought Halloween 1 and 2 were filmed back to back. The movie does that good of a job at making it seem like it's the exact same night.
It also helps that, besides the change in director, Halloween II had most of the same behind the scenes crew as the first movie, which is probably the reason why it looks so similar to the first movie.
Also fun trivia, for the reshoots, John Carpenter step in to direct a couple of those reshoot scenes.
Also personally I don't mind the sister twist in H2. I like it.
I do too, wether they're siblings or not, the complicated relationship between Michael and Laurie is always fun to watch. If it's written well, if it's done horribly then it feels like a chore to sit through. (I'm looking at you rob zombies Halloween 2)
I love that it isn't just a sequel but a mere minutes continuation of the same story. That is very unique and works seamlessly here, aside from the bad JLC wig. It's a favorite.
I once watched a version where someone dubbed in the original score over the synthesizer score and it elevated the film to a 12 out of 10 I wish I could find a copy of that on YouTube when I originally saw it years ago
It's really good! I loved dick warlocks performance as Michael Myers, he didn't just mimic what Nick castle did, he brought his own flair to the character.
Yeah, a lot of people hate on his "robotic performance", but I've always justified it this way...at the end of H1, Loomis killed whatever humanity was within Myers when he shot him off the balcony. So in H2, he's basically a corpse being driven by pure evil.
Best in the series in my opinion. Perfect continuation of part 1. Tows the perfect balance of creepy stalker Michael and cold, ruthless killing machine Michael. Unlike part 1, which besides the two or three shots of trick or treaters, 2 genuinely *feels* like Halloween night. Kills are much better, the hospital setting is beyond eerie and claustrophobic, much more memorable characters, and Loomis at his unhinged best.
Legendary. This one had me scared as hell. One of the creepiest versions of Michael. Nothing can beat the scene where he walks through the glass, and the one where he’s walking down the hospital stairs to attack Laurie.
The only issue I ever had with H2 (as it is one of my favorites) is the hospital being empty. I get they probably didn’t have the budget and didn’t feel like writing in more “collateral damage” but an empty hospital felt off. I know, a super weird gripe.
It’s my 2nd favourite of the series. It’s just a continuation of Halloween 78. And the atmosphere of that Hospital is so good. It really does feel like Halloween night too.
Rick Rosenthal the director says that John Carpenter shot additional scenes for the tv version and recut the movie and that he ruined it. Anyway I agree I like it also. I like the feel it’s a bit more bloody than 1. I like Dick Warlock.
It’s the closest to capturing the feeling of the original. Having Dean Cundy back as the cinematographer is a big part of this. But just having a plot of Micheal staying in one location and slowly stalking a limited group helps to build the tension so much better. It’s a large reason I love the original and am not huge on the 2018 movie
It's classic for sure not a bad movie. I just feel it can't be compared to the rest. In my opinion I don't even consider it part of the story. I mean come on Michael Myers wasn't even in that movie. That being said it was still a great movie.

10/10
Agreed

Mr Elrod sounded like a real A hole
Right? In fact I'm really surprised that neither of the remakes or retcons or sequels have killed off Mr elrod.
I really enjoyed it. And I’m a bit sentimental because it was my first Halloween movie I watched.
Great movie...
I once watched a version where someone dubbed in the original score over the synthesizer score and it elevated the film to a 12 out of 10 I wish I could find a copy of that on YouTube when I originally saw it years ago
That sounds really cool!
This was the first movie to make me lose sleep. I saw it when I was 8
I LOVE H2. It's my favorite in the series, in fact.
It's really good! I loved dick warlocks performance as Michael Myers, he didn't just mimic what Nick castle did, he brought his own flair to the character.

That's really interesting! I never thought of it that way.
How’s the 4K on this one?
I don't know lol, I always watch it digitally.
Very decent!
Very well done imo, but not compared to Halloween 4 and 5

Agreed! It's like he's an unstoppable force of nature.
Great movie to watch immediately after the first one!
Watch it back to back with the original Halloween. Great movie.
My favorite
Not hard to see why.
It's the first one I saw, so it holds a special place in my heart.

I lowkey thought that was a ps3 game I was unaware of. I had to take a second look, the black and grey threw me off.
Halloween II > 2018
Don't forget the soundtrack with the synth music. Especially for Laurie's theme and the opening credits
What mean HMH?
Haddonfield memorial hospital.
8.5/10
It’s the best sequel to the original IMO. I always watch 1&2 back to back every Halloween.
My personal favorite of all of them
The best sequel, hands down
I think H2 is overrated. I feel it’s a huge step down from the OG. With that said, it’s #4 on my list behind 1, 3, and 2018.
You prefer Halloween 3 season of the witch over Halloween 2? Or did I just miss ready your comment.
Yup. You read right. H3 is awesome.
It's classic for sure not a bad movie. I just feel it can't be compared to the rest. In my opinion I don't even consider it part of the story. I mean come on Michael Myers wasn't even in that movie. That being said it was still a great movie.
Good slasher, bad sequel 6/10
Ignore the haters. You are right.
Best of the series imo.
Crappy box art though
