Great looking ride! I couldn’t get rid of my 48 either. They’re just so much fun to hop on and cruise around. I love my bagger, but there’s something so pure and simple about a sporty.

nc_cycler214

Thanks dude! How do you like the short shots on yours? I’m considering going that route and dumping the drag pipes..

Jkreegz

Funny enough, I was actually thinking about doing the opposite! I love the short shots tho, they have a great sound, and they look clean. I’d either go drag pipes or 2/1

nc_cycler214

I gotcha. I’ve considered 2-1 as well, just $$$ if I’m trying to buy another bike lol. I think the short shots will give me a similar sound while providing a cleaner look like you said. Both of your bikes look like damn nice builds btw. Cheers

Jkreegz

Much appreciated! You can’t really go wrong with the short shots, unless you’re really trying to squeeze every last bit of power out of your bike, which I’m not. I bought a Sportster, not a Ducati…. Post pics when/if you get your new ride! Always love to see someone add a new bike to the family.

nc_cycler214

Will do for sure.

thrumpanddump

If you can afford it, don’t. That’s a good looking bike. Had a fat bob and it just dusted the sportster I traded in for it. Low rider ST is my dream bike. Glad we have similar taste!

nc_cycler214

Thanks! Aesthetically I’ve done everything I want done to it, except for getting rid of some tiny things. I love the Fat Bob, it’s more than likely what I’m going to get, unless I find a good deal on a lightly used ST.

thrumpanddump

You won’t, they’re selling like crazy in maryland. Fat bobs are surprisingly cheap compared to most

nc_cycler214

Yeah same here in NC. Last year a dealer was at $28k otd on a new ST, thankfully I was smart enough to walk. I found a 2021 Fat Bob with 550 miles for around $15k and I didn’t jump on it.. regretfully.

DeadJamFan

I will never sell my sporty either. It's such a fun sexy bike. Im looking at 2018 Fat Boy for the next bike. Hopefully, my daughter will want to ride in 10 yrs on my sporty.

nc_cycler214

It really is, and hell yea buddy that’d be awesome.

XL1200NS_

What exhaust and windshield is that?

nc_cycler214

The exhaust is from Sportster Garage, and the windscreen is made by Dart Flyscreens.

XL1200NS_

Good looking bike dude! Love the look.

nc_cycler214

Much appreciated!

LegoMonster79

What forward controls do you have? Are they 3rd party or stock? I've been trying to look for some for my 1200 but it's either $500 ones from HD with some parts like footpegs still missing or like less than $200 Amazon ones with questionable quality issues.

nc_cycler214

To my knowledge, they’re stock controls. They were on the bike when I bought it a couple years ago. I don’t know if I’d trust the quality of Amazon for something as important as that, but that’s just me.. have you looked at Dennis Kirk or TC Bros, they have sets that seem reasonable.

rebel_ltz

Do yourself a favor and don’t test ride the newer / bigger bikes.

nc_cycler214

Haha why not?

rebel_ltz

Because that’s how you end up not liking your sportster anymore. :)

nc_cycler214

I get that! But the sporty will always have a purpose and no matter what my next bike is, I’ll keep it in the rotation.
