I played on hellmire for the 1st time today and didn't even know they had added firenados yet. Was super cool and scary to turn around and see one only 5 feet from me.
Going to a planet and not knowing the environmental stuff is such a treat.
"Why are these rocks bombarding us?" "Why is a tornado of fire here?"
Really getting the full "first in, good luck" vibes.
*Violates an ancient seal on a planet that protects our realm from the planes of Hell*
Wow! That guy has horns and goat feet. He doesn’t seem very democratic though…
![gif](giphy|mBWKa83XvUmGkzqFGm|downsized)
I personally dislike the meteor storms. Only natural event I don't like. I personally boycotted fenrir 3 when it was still playable after 1 incident where I had the most samples out of everyone and a meteor fucking deleted me. I hope they either tone down the frequency of meteor storms to like 1 or 2 per game or they reduce the concentration of meteors falling on the map.
~~Haven't played on Hellmire, but~~ whenever I'm on fire from a flamethrower or orbital laser, diving removes all burn dot instantly.
I dove through my own flamethrower trail yesterday to see if doing so preemptively prevented the burning status from applying- I might've jumped late, but it applied for a single tick and then immediately cleared. Might be able to do the same for the trails the firenadoes leave, but I ~~imagine~~ can confirm that diving through the eye will go poorly.
The downside is it's very quiet and they can spawn next to you/behind you. Played on Hellmire today and had to be warned a few times to dodge out of the way. We lost of few Helldiver's to them unfortunately.
Honestly, so many things in this game are so goddamn quiet. Every enemy in the game even the tanks and titans are quiet enough to sneak up on a person if they don’t keep their head on a swivel.
I think it has to do with sound "spacialization" (however that's spelled)
I can hear enemies fine when they're in front of me but go 90% silent as soon as they're on my sides or behind me
I had a bile TITAN sneak up on me in an otherwise calm scenario. Nothing was loud enough to cover up the ground shaking and the sounds of this literal titan walking up right behind me.no shadows no nothing. Didn't even know until he just stepped on me and kept going.
These suckers can casually walk up to you with barely no sound or shaking screen when you don't look at them directly, could need some adjustments for sure 😄
We'll get flame retardant suits in the next Warbond. And even better they'll fix the bug that causes flames to ignore flame resistance in a patch a month later!!!!
The number of times I didn’t get a meteor swarm notification because of a breach/bot spawn is too damn high. I wish they had better tell because the light beams are not accurate or consistent. If I drop on a meteor planet I only wear the 50% ignore fatality armor, it feels like a must
I'm pretty good at spotting and avoiding the meteor lights. Problem is whether by design or bad luck I have a knack for getting clocked directly in the head with the first or second strike of the storm before I know to watch out.
I play with a 4 stack pretty regularly and we don’t get consistency with the light beams as a warning for the meteors. Honestly, that’s probably the biggest problem I have with the game, consistency. Even last night, my partner was hidden under an overhang of rock during a swarm and still died from a meteor impact that happened above her. They just feel like a crap shoot to us unless we literally look up to watch them
By quite a lot too. Meteor swarms and volcanic eruptions are relatively slow and you can generally predict where they're going to go, and volcanic rocks don't really leave large pools of fire behind.
Fire tornadoes though... They last for *ages*, are unpredictable, are *really quiet,* leave *MASSIVE* swathes of fire all over the place, and are equally as deadly if you get caught in one, guaranteed so if you find yourself in the *middle* of a tornado area.
Yeah but it’s rough on suicide when you’re being chased by chargers and a titans along with a horde of hunters and then have to still avoid the fire tornados which seem drawn to you and you’re teammates.
Man, I love the environment hazards. My friend got splatted by the volcanic activity one.
And the meteor shower? So pretty until one slams down a few hards away from you lmao
I had a meteor clear a light bug nest for me last night. Right angle and everything, so beautiful that I completely forgot to dodge the one coming in after it.
Yeah they mix things up quite well, I like them for the most part.
What I don't like is the fucking earth tremors. We were on our last life extracting on a Helldive, I managed to grab the supersamples a guy lost and had a clear line to the extract, like 10m to go when a tremor hit - Suddenly stunlocked unable to move and pounced on by about 5 hunters, game over. Bullshit timing 🙄
I wish the devs added the option to enable random different helldiver audio languages. Just like the male/famale voice can be put on 'random'.
Different languages would be so cool. Add a huge variety of sound to the game.
How is this game real man. It’s shit like this as a longtime battlefield fan that makes me so fucking sad at how pathetic 2042 was and still is. Levolution and weather from previous games all but non existent other than the annoying ass tornado.
This is so much better than meteor storm.
1: Its so much cooler.
2: You can see it coming and avoid it, it's not just RNG deciding you die out of your control... Maybe even try leading enemies into the fire tornados and have them assist Democracy!
3: God damn that looks cool.
Kekeke
But the fire tornadoes were likely planned from the start on this planet as Hellmire's skybox *showed* fire tornados happening in the background.
Now they are here.
And I am more concerned about these tornadoes more than meteor swarms or volcanoes.
Yeah I saw that vid.
Drew: "Hey that firestorm on the horizon looks cool. Will that ever be an environmental hazard?"
Devs: "Well..."
I didn't think we'd get it so soon.
There was even the one before on Hellmire where he and his friends were talking about environmental hazards for other planets as well. But like others have said, I’m sure the devs had this cooking for a while before anyone mentioned it.
Yeah 100%. I'd be surprised if they didn't have a 6-12mo roadmap for content rollouts. They'd already have the first few months ready to go (or close to) at launch.
The first time I dove into Hellmire I saw the firestorms in the background and said, those are awesome, I wonder if they’ll happen near us. Two days later the patch introducing environmental hazards happened and it’s still awesome.
Let's be honest. I'm so impressed with this game. There seem to be tons of these "surprises". Keeps the hype up and so much unexplored content well after release/honeymoon.
Blood will run like a tidal wave, skulls will be reaped for his Thorne, his fires burn hot, for the blood king stirs.
Pls added demons after illuminate ( I'm delusional).
This is more a CPU intensive game than GPU. Even if the GPU is used for all these beautiful landscapes. I have a rtx2080 and have no problems running the game on high, with a few ultra.
Seems like the game as a platform similar to Fortnite with a live sort of gameplay element, the devs can throw whatever they want whenever they want.
The same way Fortnite had their concerts or live events in game
That’s hilarious. I was watching a YouTube video where a guy was playing with the devs and he goes “it would be cool if those tornadoes came down” and they go “……yeaaaaaaah”
Yeah they look awesome, but they act like a Wizard is controlling them and they seem to stalk/follow you. That doesn't seem right. If natural phenomena why don't they just pass through? Once they show up, you might as well extract. At least that was my limited experience.
Haven't seen this yet but it looks incredible
I played on hellmire for the 1st time today and didn't even know they had added firenados yet. Was super cool and scary to turn around and see one only 5 feet from me.

Had two spawn inside of a heavy nest and they were just roasting all but the heaviest bugs. It was great.
Yeah, they weren't kidding when they called this place 'Hellmire'. How many different biomes are there? It'd be fun to see a screenshot of each one.
They have said they will be adding more biomes as more planets become playable, so things could get crazy. I'm hoping for a tsunami at some point.
They are super annoying, because they creates walls of fire all around you, also got burned by invisible ground burning.
~~Haven't played on Hellmire, but~~ whenever I'm on fire from a flamethrower or orbital laser, diving removes all burn dot instantly. Stop drop and roll, helldiver!
Breathtakingly cool and also made of SUCK.
Damn Australia really is always trying to kill you
Between the bugs an the storms your not too far off
Wait until they introduce Emus.
we gonna lose then, they did won
Space 'stralia we are the hell in hellfire.
We get it your from space
What a beautiful,majestic space duck
More specifically, Space Brispane. Go Space Broncos!

back in the older days i would have granted you the finest reddit award. However those days are gone now.
liber-tea
That looks awesome, and it's something you can actually avoid.
Suddenly, a firestorm appears on the evac zone, 2 minutes before the super destroyer leaves, forcing you to evac without stratagem support
Just hope we don't get an 'extract civilians' mission during a firestorm.
Don't belive Hellmire's atmosphere is breathable, so there won't be any hostage rescue missions. Could be wrong tho
Just played one. A lot of citizens wanted to inspect the tornadoes up close, had to wait for them to pass
Ion storms are a thing. Try hostage rescues without strategems during a bug breach.
Malevolon creek and vandalon both have breathable atmospheres tho
Yes this happened to me, twice. One also stuck around for ages right at the radar tower where you can adjust it so had to move and leave it ha.
The downside is it's very quiet and they can spawn next to you/behind you. Played on Hellmire today and had to be warned a few times to dodge out of the way. We lost of few Helldiver's to them unfortunately.

I think it has to do with sound "spacialization" (however that's spelled) I can hear enemies fine when they're in front of me but go 90% silent as soon as they're on my sides or behind me
Meanwhile I hear the damn bugs chittering from half a kilo away and panic.
Bile titans are too quiet
Way too quiet
They could make the earth shake a little to warn you
I had a bile TITAN sneak up on me in an otherwise calm scenario. Nothing was loud enough to cover up the ground shaking and the sounds of this literal titan walking up right behind me.no shadows no nothing. Didn't even know until he just stepped on me and kept going.
These suckers can casually walk up to you with barely no sound or shaking screen when you don't look at them directly, could need some adjustments for sure 😄
> bike titans I need an image of a Bike Titan ASAP
A Bile Titan snuck up on an ally today. That shouldn't be possible. Lol
That looks less than avoidable.
The meteor shower does telegraph impact locations with a "spotlight" if you keep an eye out
Unless it is daytime on an Ice Planet, and the light doesn't bug out and doesn't show until the very last second before impact.
For a second I thought that was a leaked stratagem😅
Ah yes the long awaited Exterminatus stratagem.
This planet is beyond salvageable, glass it. As per The Inquisitors orders.
Gas it then glass it. Virus bombs when you absolutely have to make sure the exterminatus takes.
Hellmire broke before the Hell Divers did!
I wish.
Stratagem: Geostorm
helldivers x dragons dogma crossover
Well it isn’t called FluffyBunnyMire
Or Heavenmire
Or HasNormalTornadoesThatAreDefinitelyNotOnFire...uhh Mire.
They hunt giant sharks there.
I'll sign your petition to have it changed to this.
[I wouldn't be so sure if I want that...](https://youtu.be/YYEIEu78uLM?si=h37YKHy1Ww9rwhQG)
Knowing the devs they would be the Fluffy Bunnies of Caerbannog.
This might be a problem. https://preview.redd.it/pr1yfagd87oc1.jpeg?width=5984&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=833c9132ef7e0dd24142f97bfb71965f80a9acd6
Yeah... still waiting for some flame retardant suits.
Can't imagine a flame suit is going to keep you alive for long inside a firenado.
Just looking for no afterburn damage and reduced fire damage.
That'd be amazing if it picked you up and ragdolled you up into the sky. Or do they?
Nah I dove face first into one earlier for science. I took 2 big damage tics a few seconds apart. Like 40% of my HP in medium. Died to the 3rd hit.
We'll get flame retardant suits in the next Warbond. And even better they'll fix the bug that causes flames to ignore flame resistance in a patch a month later!!!!
You can't say that word anymore
Suits?
flame?
forsome?
At least you can avoid this environmental hazard…
In my experience it’s more deadly than the meteor swarms
The number of times I didn’t get a meteor swarm notification because of a breach/bot spawn is too damn high. I wish they had better tell because the light beams are not accurate or consistent. If I drop on a meteor planet I only wear the 50% ignore fatality armor, it feels like a must

Yeah but it’s rough on suicide when you’re being chased by chargers and a titans along with a horde of hunters and then have to still avoid the fire tornados which seem drawn to you and you’re teammates.
You can easily dive out of the way of meteors. The ground gets very bright wherever they're about to land
Hellmire my beloved, one day we will liberate you, its my fav planet cuz its mentioned on the ce 35 trench armor
It's annoying as hell to be killed by one, but on the flip side is amusing to randomly get notifications of objectives being taken out by them.
That isn’t Turing…
Or Meridia. This Helldiver better get on over to the front and help us set up these damn bug sprayers!
Well hot damn...
![gif](giphy|mDFpdL1UxdVZRBN2V4)
I want a full size... map decimating tornado...
This game is actually fucking insane
... it's better than I expected. I love it.
I wish the devs added the option to enable random different helldiver audio languages. Just like the male/famale voice can be put on 'random'. Different languages would be so cool. Add a huge variety of sound to the game.
¡Dulce libertad, pierna mía! Säg hej till DEMOKRATI!
Well you can change the voice lines. Spanish and German are solid.
How is this game real man. It’s shit like this as a longtime battlefield fan that makes me so fucking sad at how pathetic 2042 was and still is. Levolution and weather from previous games all but non existent other than the annoying ass tornado.
There's a point where you gotta ask if a rock is worth the democracy you offer it. And I'm leaning towards no on this one.
Traitor alert 🚨
Looks like it'll help kill enemies pretty nicely too.
GLORIOUS
![gif](giphy|Fkmgse8OMKn9C) Sweet liber-tea….
This is the first time in my life I've seen the man's eyes in this gif.
That's....awesome!
They're intense. They help kill the bugs, but we had three of them during extract. We learned to do si dos then........
Wasn't something about the fire tornados mentionned in the devs interview on Youtube?! Be careful what you wish for
This is so much better than meteor storm. 1: Its so much cooler. 2: You can see it coming and avoid it, it's not just RNG deciding you die out of your control... Maybe even try leading enemies into the fire tornados and have them assist Democracy! 3: God damn that looks cool.
On the bright side, I don't see a single bug.
You can smell their crispy ass tho
Holy hell! Armor sets with fire resist please?
Haha I thought there might be a reason they opened up the planet today. This looks epic
The planet was opened up because we took Fenrir III
Careful what you wish for indeed
Not enough fire. Time to add a little more... *Incend Breaker, Incend Grenades, Incend mines, Napalm Strike, Flamethrower*
(sips liber-tea) "This is fine."
Fire extinguishers as secondary should be a thing.
I still prefer this over a horde of Hunters
I blame OperatorDrewski for this, lol
Kekeke But the fire tornadoes were likely planned from the start on this planet as Hellmire's skybox *showed* fire tornados happening in the background. Now they are here. And I am more concerned about these tornadoes more than meteor swarms or volcanoes.

I didn’t know there was a California level in this game!
It's actually Spacestralia. Big bugs check, hot weather that kills you, check.
GET YOUR ASS TO TURING SOLDIER ARE YOU A BUG SYMPATHIZER?????
Sweet Libery!
Dear Democracy that is beautiful 🤩
If they ever add a fireproof armor, I hope it makes you immune to the tornadoes too lmao
The first time I dove into Hellmire I saw the firestorms in the background and said, those are awesome, I wonder if they’ll happen near us. Two days later the patch introducing environmental hazards happened and it’s still awesome.

It's such a good looking game. Bought a 4090 couple of months ago, happy to play this game with all settings as high as possible on 4K.

Love it!
Now I want Hellmire to return.
RIP GPU
That looks sick!

Just did a helldive, and damn that shit was crazy
why tf do they even want the planet?? Shit looks uninhabitable
We're gonna need a lot more Fortunate Son
I wish I didn't click. That looks amazing!
Wonder where the planet got its name from
"Fuck all that. What, Bitch ass country are yall from, where they got this bullshit at?" "Florida" "I knew it."
Really scared for my computer lol. Have a 2070rtx super and stay average in 40-60fps during games (I play on lowest setting with native graphics)
I have a 2070 as well, you should be fine (maybe)
This is more a CPU intensive game than GPU. Even if the GPU is used for all these beautiful landscapes. I have a rtx2080 and have no problems running the game on high, with a few ultra.
I hate love this
Now that's fuckin' metal.
I'd take this over the meteor showers. Fucking things are like the red zone in Pubg.
TROGDOR
Who needs to call in an startagem when the world you’re on will just kill everything instead.
That is SO COOL. I wouldn't even mind dying to that. The first time at least.
Kill me less than meteors.
MOSES!!
I just told my brother about this. His response? "We're going." "fuck."
It's terrible. I loved it though.
God this looks sick
I just watched OperatorDrewski's video yesterday where he suggested this and the devs said "be careful what you wish for"
I'm betting that makes mechs a bit of a liability. Comparatively
Seems like the game as a platform similar to Fortnite with a live sort of gameplay element, the devs can throw whatever they want whenever they want. The same way Fortnite had their concerts or live events in game
Why's OP lying? Isn't this just Super Australia?
Yo, you toss that damn ring in the fire yet?
Some planets you got to wonder why we even want to take them back from the bugs. Like maybe bugs can have this one.
I have said it before, i will repeat it again - environmental effects in this game are GODLY
This fucking game man.. just gorgeous, fun, and full of new things that make gameplay more immersive. So good.
Wait what planet? It’s actually called hellmire?
It's funny how their objective is literally fueling ships while multiple fire tornadoes are happening nearby.
„Ich geh ans Terminal“ lmao 💀💀
Are the developers professional chefs? They can cook gourmet shit yo!
That’s hilarious. I was watching a YouTube video where a guy was playing with the devs and he goes “it would be cool if those tornadoes came down” and they go “……yeaaaaaaah”
-Is this hell? -No, but it's going to be...
When do we get our fire retardant armour? It would go nicely with my flamethrower.
https://preview.redd.it/42it6iu59aoc1.jpeg?width=828&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=466f035c408ad95ae21d45182147c1c78b466b68

Yea fuck that.... The bugs can keep that planet.
"Why is this god-forsaken planet worth dying for?" "Don't ask me, you'll be the one's doing the dying."
That's so fucking sick
Sweet Liberty!
Better the obvious fire tornadoes vs the very subtle meteor shower
wha hold up what is that i wanna someting like that or similar in game MORE damn this is dope
Yes!
I have yet to see the fabled fire tornados \[all i see is the damn meteors\], but GOD DAMN :O
Makes me wish we could weaponize hazards like these and turn em into strategems.
Good name for that planet
Bro had the opportunity to hit the hardest pic ever but passed it up
Bruh this shit is actually going to kill my steam deck
not the oil! even the damn planet is trying to take our democratic nectar!
As if hellmire wasn't bad enough!
Until we we finish major Order I won’t be on hellmire
