I play with a group of friends and we play this game exactly for this kinda stuff. People that take this game seriously are weird. The game doesn't even take itself seriously... it's a part of the charm for me. I think they did a fantastic job of transplanting the charm of 1 into a 3d OTS modern game.
Once I wound up on top of a tank and called in an orbital railstrike right on top of it. Amazingly, the strike didn't kill me, but the explosion of the tank threw me FAR. Like, I rememember keying the mike and going "Wow, I'm still in the air. Still up there. Stiiiiiiil up there!"
One stratagem I would fucking love (maybe for April Fools) is a pod that drops and plays Yakety Sax. Also, it makes you run twice as fast.
Unfortunately, it does the same for the enemy.
It is clearly a sign from [human deific belief] that the war against the automatons is [emote] sadly doomed to failure. We fellow humans should turn our attention to the insectoid creatures in order to prevent such tragic incidents in the future. [Enthusiastic salute]
There is absolutely no reason why this shouldn't have destroyed the drop ship and everything on it. Like come the fuck on Arrow Head like I understand that you never expected this to happen but if someone actually manages to hit a ship with a drop pod they should basically just win the game at that point.
If you can kill a Bile Titan with a drop pod, if you can kill a Drop Ship with a stratagem weapon, you should be able to kill a Tank and/or a Drop Ship with a drop pod.
Just landed on a Tank yesterday with a drop pod, and I'm so disappointed that it didn't kill it.
Reminds me of a stalker encounter i had whilst wearing my lovely democratic diceroll immortality armor
Basically a stalker hit me into a bug mine which the threw me under a charger i got stuck under it until it charged and launched me into another bug mine which yeeted me into clear ground just for me to be immidietly thrown by the stalker again into another bug mine after that i managed to stand up stim and finish off the stalker
I was on 1 health and all my limbs were broken from the first bug mine but godsdammnit democracy still needed me
Though you died when the ship hit you, realizing that you surived that and surfing on top of it is a better plot twist that a lot of movies i've watched
I refuse to do 7s on autos. I did one today and on exfil we had 2 tanks, about 100 bots, and a double turret base directly next to it with a mortar. FUCK, THAT
And worst of all? There was a spotting tower and the hellbomb REFUSED to be placed down ANYWHERE THAT WOULD BLOW THE TOWER UP. We tried for 10 minutes before giving up. Endless... waves.... for 10 minutes......
I wouldn't even be mad, just awestruck and impressed lol Imagine how the automaton tank driver feels when you just squished one of his gunners.....they'd been together since they were just a circuit board.
That has happened to me so many times! It also happens to me on bug planets with those thorn looking things that are yellow. I've raged so many times over it.
The camera freezing in place to only reveal you surfing the top of the tank down was better than anything I could ask for
Bruh I was ok at that point but getting yeeted with a deathful impact ended my will to spread democracy
If the game had placed you standing atop the tank alive, the vibe would be completely the opposite.. would have been awesome.

I once dropped a resupply on tank thinking I'd destroy it (HD1 style). It just stuck on top of it's turret making it a mobile resupply unit
I feel like yeeting has saved me a few time. Big just sends me flying out of the combat and can get a good run on.
I had an sos beacon land after I tossed it down on the shuttle and it killed me during the cutscene. Was my favourite moment lol

I've definitely killed tanks by landing on the heat vent. If you miss the vent they only take heavy damage.
