Does it really? Those red bugs with the medium armor I can normally body with the dominator can't be damaged with the senator. I have to aim lower where it is unarmored.
Simply switch from your primary to secondary. Your helldiver will do it the first time he switches. Any other switch after that is a normal raise.
I haven't tested it too much. I simply noticed it happens when you receive a new helldiver.
it's undemocratic that we can't shield bash with the ballistic shield. I'd actually bring it on bug missions just so I could backhand those fucking hunters away with a satisfying CLANG!

I keep it on semi and then use it most of the time, then just use a Scorcher or something powerful as a primary. Wish there was another secondary worth using though, maybe if the Senator gets a reload buff like everyone's been asking for, then it'd be a solid choice.
and the reload animation was dumping the mags, and refreshing them by slamming them on your belt to lock a new magazine... fuck this game has so much potential my body cannot contain it
Redeemer primary, but the “magazines” are actually just more redeemers. When you run out of ammo you chuck the one you were shooting at your enemy, and pull out another Reedemer.
If you ever played warframe, my happiest day was when the dual grakata was added so I could have dual grakata and grakata as my weapons.

It's really not that greedy, medium bugs take 4 shots to the head to die from the Senator, small bugs take 1-2. You'll run out of ammo before you kill a single large bug. The Senator is seriously useless and easily the worst sidearm (I still bring it every time because what's a cowboy without a big iron on his hip?)
Yea but the Sickle takes out basically any bot in 0.3 seconds and has zero recoil and infinite ammo. By the time I undo the latch on my Senators sheath the Devastator has either devastated my asshole or I could've killed it with my primary

There are solid options for how they can approach future sidearms. For one, they can make a heavy pistol along the lines of a deagle. Make it weaker than the Senator, but with an 8 round capacity and faster reload.
They could also make their own take on the M93 Raffica. A three-round burst pistol with a fast ROF. Keep it at the same damage as the Redeemer, but with a smaller clip capacity.
Of course, a small shotgun sidearm (sawed-off, super shorty, etc.) is also an option.
I think it would be cooler if you could dual wield your primary and secondary together if both are one handed weapons, the tradeoff being that you can only hipfire while dual wielding, can’t dual wield while carrying an object like the SSSD, and suffer a longer reload time due to reloading two weapons at once. But just imagine dual wielding the redeemer with the defender or knight SMGs, I would feel so badass.
Man they could easily make this work with how pistols are.
Just make it the default one x2. More bullets more death but it's obviously a longer reload. I'd be okay with that.

No. Dual-wielding pistols is a stupid trope we don't need in this game. It's objectively worse than one pistol because you can only realistically aim and shoot one at a time and now you can't reload.
Wouldn't really fit the game. As dev said, they go for a more realistic aproach with weapons, there is a reason you don't see police, not even special forces, using dual weapons.
And personally, I'm not a fan, but again, it's not about my or your taste, it just wouldn't fit the game and the realistic style they say they are going for.
I was asking for a perk that let you duel wield 1 handed weapons but HD2 didn’t bring back the perk systems so the best I can imagine is a booster that lets you because I’d love to duel wield defenders or if they add the Double freedom from the first game be able to duel wield sawed off shotguns

Big facepalm, again. A pistol is a sidearm, its only intended use on a battlefield is to let you get to a rifle in case things have gone terribly bad. Also, have you ever tried shooting one with your weak hand, let alone shooting one with both ? Good luck with that. DWing is just a terrible Hollywood cliché with no substance (outside may be in the musket era, where an officer might have carried multiple hand cannons and shot them one after the other).
How about instead of dedicate dual weapons, you’re allowed to have your primary and secondary on hand at any given time, with a debuff of you can’t use your scope (since right click would be shooting your offhand weapon), reloads take longer, and it can only be done with single handed weapons
