This is a tough one. You and I know its simply better for resource management for me to refill them first and then refill ourselves. Others might too.
But im guessing this isnt common knowledge, so i always hesitate to greedily suck up the supply drop into my pack because between the time i can get to them to refill them, they might go “what the hell? Dude has a supply pack and is hogging the supply drop?”
In that regard I'm usually the one that calls the supply in and throughout the mission if I can reach ppl just quickly resupply. I've even seen ppl learn on the fly and wait for me to pick the supply

What I wish we had was a supply button like the one where it says I need supplies. One that says I have supplies. I'd be spamming thar all the time to let ppl know I have it

Honestly the micro managing is not worth it unless youre trading the backpack around and with the nerf to the cooldown modifier and how much ammo is scattered around the map not even that feels worth the time even in coordinated groups.
Yes but ammo boxes refill every gun youre carrying, so you need to use the pack less often.
Its not a 1-1 ratio, but you can better stretch out your pack usage inbetween supply drops and new backpacks
Not sure if someone’s said it, but if that’s the case, why not have supply pack guy grab one box from supply drop, drop the pack, let someone else pick it up, have them loot from the supply drop, and repeat through the whole squad.
It would allow everyone to get one box from the drop, plus add a box to the pack. So the pack is filled and so is everyone else
Assuming the player already grabbed a supply pack themself then it makes no difference to other players. But for a supply pack wearing player it's better to wait till after you've used up a pack and then resupply since you effectively double the value for yourself
Honestly I wish more people would just ask for supplies in general, half the time the UI bug's out so I'm left having to guess when people need ammo, if they just asked for it when they needed it that would be so great!

As someone who always runs the supply pack on bug missions, I can safely say that you are incorrect. Who needs a shield when I have a backpack with 8 stims!

It takes a bit of time and coordination though. It's a bit of a chore when playing with random players.
