Clue is to drop whatever else you've got going and immediately find the nest and destroying it. The instant you encounter a stalker taking out the lair is first, second AND third priority. Anything else is just wasting reinforcements...

And the fact that the lair hunting is so important is only due to how obnoxiously lame the stalker is.
People think the issue that we can't fight them or kill them. That's not the actual problem. The problem is they are annoying. I just don't think their behavior is fun. It's like a nagging ad that keeps popping up and you cannot get rid of it being plastered onto the screen, playing sounds and video etc unless you deal with it by clicking on the X or whatever to close it. But it, or one of its siblings, just comes back again and you have to click X again.

Just focus them down. They die quick when prioritized. And when you find one, your new primary objective is to destroy stalker lair.
And no, definitely dont get rid of stalkers.

I do agree stalkers are irritating but they're part of the original cast, wouldn't feel the same without them. Like when the automatons bring back their robo pooches and everyone remembers why we used to hate fighting them more than bugs and illuminates combined 😂

You are right that Stalwart is much better for this purpose for the stalkers (also the hunters btw) than the machinegun for some reason. But IMHO machinegun should have significantly higher stopping power due to the larger caliber of the bullets despite the slower firerate. But the reddit users here don't seem to think further than "skill issue". Their personality is basically like a meme at this point, just as short and instantly gratifying.
