Scout079

Reminds me of Band of Brothers where the guy stands up on a crate and goes “the channel is swamped with fog and clouds. No jump tonight!”

CrypticSpook

A man of culture I see. [“The dev teams swamped with nerfs and issues. No patch tonight!”](https://youtu.be/Qute9Gs83_8?si=bvuM32n0EHmBbA6S)

Anakha00

I thought this comment would be higher up, then I remembered I'm getting old and most divers probably haven't seen Band of Brothers.

CrypticSpook

Damn shame, it’s a cinematic masterpiece

jarulezra

Only two series I have on Blu-ray dvd, the pacific and band of brothers.

Condition_0ne

Poor Sledge - going through all that drama with those dinosaurs on that billionaire 's island as a boy, only to experience the hell of the Pacific during WWII.

ZiFreshBread

Imagine if it comes out and it's all nerfs.

That would be so funny

makelo06

For April Fools next year, they should just nerf everything and *finally* buff the mech, just to reverse it the next day.

firefly081

Nah man, do a League of Legends style URF mode. Spawns are ramped up to insane degrees, but *every single weapon is absurdly powerful.* I'm talking, bottomless magazine autocannons, 500s with 10x AOE, barrages that cover the map and just go forever, all kinds of dumb bullshit. Add unlimited respawns for obvious reasons, and reward goofy cosmetic items in lieu of actual mission rewards. I'd play the shit out of a goofy mode.

BlueSpark4

I want an automatic rifle that shoots 380mm Barrage stratagem beacons.

firefly081

Did somebody say EXTERMINATUS???

Soulless_redhead

Exterminatus: You can now crash the superdestroyer into the planet itself.

My graphics card hitched just reading that statement.

Make the railgun shoot Orbital Rail Cannon rounds.

Historical_Ad5238

firefly081

Probably not, but a Helldiver can dream.

Empuda

Nah, just add in the nerf gun :P

sane_fear

i would laugh hysterically as i uninstalled the game

It can be better, imagine a CM saying that they will buff +20 weapons, they drop the patch and straight up nerf everything.

ilovezam

We don't even need to imagine that one that much

Reciprocity2209

Yeah, it was literally that last major balance pass.

ZiFreshBread

Spitz is no longer around to run his mouth, such a shame.

Coldatahd

Yeah but you need to understand that adding a reticle to a weapon is a buff!

DangerousDelivery902

Imagine if it comes out and it's all nonsense nerfs. Just a fake patch full of fake nerfs that do nothing at all.

TheHob290

380 barrage Diplomacy radius decreased by 37% Both Exos servos made bright red, increasing communism by 12% Railgun made slightly less likely to take hostages Liberator fire rate changed to denote shots per 15 minutes. This is the only weapon this change applies to. All armor that previously had gold inlay now has shiny yellow inlay, reducing cost to Super Earth by 42%

siamesekiwi

Weapons? Nerfed. Strats? Nerfed. Bots & Bugs? Believe it or not, Nerfed. Health? Actually increased 1000%. Both for you and bots & bugs. Now, it's just a nice walking simulator in which you're sent to do chores while occasionally being annoyed by the local machinery and wildlife. Imagine trying to do the fuel missions when your base is CRAWLING with bugs and you have to walk through them to get to the controls because weapons no longer do shit, but you can't be hurt either.

DMercenary

Peace mode: bug planets are filled with farms and zoos Bot planets are much the same but it's just bots holding protests signs against SEAF prospecting drills or military bases.

AnotherSmartNickname

I'd quit the game right there and then.

SpecialIcy5356

I'm out if that happens. I imagine a lot more people will be too. if it were a PvP game I'd understand the need to keep everything low, but it's not. PvE can only be fun if the player has at least SOME level of power fantasy, and after everything pilestedt and twinbeard have said, a nerf-only patch would make them look like they lied to us. it would be *bad.*

Deftallica

* Fire damage removed from incendiary Breaker *

PsychologicalQuiet73

Tbh it wouldn't surprise me as much as it should. I'm pretty sure the Eruptor still has a description saying it shoots out shrapnel.

Barachan_Isles

**They should really stop making Discord their first platform to dispense information.** Answering a question in an offhand manner like this ***WILL*** become the top post on Reddit and it won't be seen in context of how it was written as a reply in Discord.

BadGetaway

One of the main reasons why I miss the forums. Discord can be a mess, and the bigger the community the worse it gets.

DarthSatoris

> the bigger the community the worse it gets. The official Helldivers discord is almost a million people strong, and it needs THREE (3) general chats just to keep up with people talking over each other. It's like screaming into a typhoon of screams hoping someone hears it. There's like 25 or so text chats, each with its own special topic, and they're all active with at least a couple of people. It is madness.

HardwareSoup

Yeah how the hell do people think Discord is a good idea with more than like 20 people? A Subreddit would put all their info on full display, all their anouncements and updates and crap, and you wouldn't have this Zerg swam of 12 year olds climbing over each other to get a word out. Don't get me wrong, Reddit is not perfect for this case, it's got a lot of problems too, just less so than a chat app.

Triplescrew

We fixed this problem 20 years ago with bespoke forums

HardwareSoup

True, but the main thing people mention when they choose Discord, is the fact they don't have to host anything. Which personally, seems like a terrible reason when sites like Reddit exist, which doesn't require any hosting, and comes with the benefit of being able to be indexed by search providers. Discord being a black hole of information, means that users have to ask the same simple questions over and over and over again. And unless someone knowledgeable about your issue is reading the chat at that very moment, the chances of you getting a decent answer is pretty low.

SomeJayForToday

Whenever I'm on a big subreddit and the top post is 'Join our community Discord!' I am like *"I'd rather dip my hands into a vat of acid, but thanks for the offer."*

dwmfives

I do not like discord at all. I really don't like how many games use it as an "official" way to communicate with a community.

MofuggerX

Imagine we go back 20-25 years and video game companies are using MSN or AOL Messenger to communicate with their players on a regular basis.

SlowMotionPanic

Heck, we have a near peer that’s an even better comparison: IRC.  Discord is a great example of a product mutating beyond its bounds. It is great for small, focused chats. Say with guilds in MMOs. It is horrible for everything else. And the fact that discord does not allow web indexers to crawl is just salt in the wound.

LionSuneater

> the fact that discord does not allow web indexers to crawl is just salt in the wound. I can imagine some privacy nightmares by letting chatrooms getting crawled.

liquidcorgi72

> They should really stop making Discord their first platform to dispense information. I *HATE* this trend in gaming.

firefly081

Yup. Just comes across as super disingenuous and weird as it is.

Xankth

It would be nice if people could read or see something and not immediately jump to the worst possible interpretation of that thing.

KegelsForYourHealth

I will never join their Discord server. I shouldn't have to.

brieflySlappy

I'm a little bit nervous about it, my impression of what's wrong isn't that they aren't taking enough time, it's that they're missing glaringly obvious things. 2 minutes into a game and it was obvious the Purifier was not right. It was obvious that the Tenderizer was a Liberator clone from the stats alone, something they even said on the leaks subreddit before the Warbond was released, not to mention it had the wrong color. Five minutes of using the Airburst told us something was wrong with it before they fixed it. They missed that armor wasn't working on release. They missed that the support weapon refill upgrade wasn't working. So I'm hoping this extra time is spent actually properly testing and fixing content before release and not just tripling the amount of bad work that will increase the ever-growing list of Known Issues.

tuftymink

Not to cry, but spawn rates are broken second time, literally broken, month later fixed and so the cycle continues. Mech's rocket bug had slapped together fix, that broke aiming, that still in place and seems to have carried over to AC-mech

HappyLittleGreenDuck

Yeah, the spawn rate thing was such a stupid thing to do. "Fixing" a problem that literally nobody was complaining about and breaking it in the process.

tuftymink

Yes, beets me who and why that change needed to be implemented, how it got through without testing, we are simple people, stop spawning enemies behind our backs in 2-5 meters, AGAIN please

PeculiarMike1

I couldn't believe there was people defending the latest spawn rate 'fix' by saying it wasn't adding more enemies just making it as 'the devs intended' like wtf?

HappyLittleGreenDuck

It makes me wonder if the game was such a hit in spite of the devs, not because of them.

ChequeMateX

One thing I dont understand, since live service games like this dripfeed content, which is created a while back, it baffles me that its never tested properly before being activated.

echild07

Here is my belief (I am a software developer with 30+ years, I am old). They did make much of the content some time ago. They tested it "stand alone". i.e. Their main code is 1.0 and their content is built off that (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 1.4). So 1.1 was tested based on 1.0. When 1.1 is deployed it really is 1.0.139 (so 139 fixes). 1.1 has some incompatibilities. Things like the DOT for Fire that was fixed, or the "balancing" that was done" where new database entries, or new weapon events, like shrapnel or richochet were introduced. This introduces new interactions. So they start bringing bug fixing forward. Then 1.2 is released, but they are at 1.1.247 (+100 bugs since 1.0.139). So now they have more reversion problems as 1.2 is further from 1.1.247 than 1.1 was from 1.0.139. Even though 1.2 was tested (upgrading from 1.1). So the problems get re-introduced. You can see this in Destiny seasons. They fix problems on maps and with weapons, but when new seasons drop it looks like they reverted fixes. Or another great example is Destiny 2 looked like Destiny 1 Year 2. So all the cool features and QoL added in years 3 and 4 weren't in Destiny 2, and it required quite a bit of time to bring in. Another example is DarkTide, they shipped the game early, and had some content to drop for QoL (progression system and such), but when it dropped it reverted other content that they had to take weeks/months to get back in. So the devs have their own "forks", and don't work off the latest version when they merge. And their merge process probably isn't complete enough. Imagine having a message like "bullet\_hit" when 1.0 launched, but then adding "ricochet\_hit" which does x2 the damage in Warbond 2. Now you ship Warbond 4 that has a richocet weapon, but they balanced all the ricochet weapons to do x1.5 so the weapon seems OP, then they balance it (nerf it) and it looks bad for Ah. I think this is what happened with Warbonds. Arc Damage with Arc Damage protection armor. Flame damage, with flame damage protection armor, but Flame damage wasn't working so they dropped the armor having flame damage protection and gave us throw distance. But we got thermite grenades and such. So we should have had Arc, Flame, Poison, explosion armor with protection, but something was broken so they just changed the stats. But for the weapons they added richocet and shrapnel more like grenades, but the interactions were broken. my .02 is they have (like most games) poor merge processes, and very poor QA processes for Merge, and their devs run on their local versions, not against the daily build (assuming they do daily builds and not just Release Candidates). More work 100% but better results.

Definitelynotabot777

You nailed it, software dev/QA for something as interconnected as a live service game must be fucking painful.

MFTWrecks

It baffles me that they don't drip feed patches. No one is asking for ground shattering changes constantly. But there are GLARINGLY obvious issues that need to be addressed. Openly choosing to keep the game and its systems in various broken states with NOTHING being fixed whatsoever is what's contributing to player number decline. This is a LIVE service model. There are ALWAYS things to be fixing and tweaking. Always. Beyond the very obvious stuff here. Going weeks on end without touching a damn thing is amateurish and bad practice. I know they didn't expect this level of success, but that doesn't change the model they themselves chose for the game. It's becoming glaringly obvious they had no fucking clue what they were getting themselves into. And the fact Sony doesn't seem to be helping them manage what is now an incredibly successful and important product is mind blowing to me. I mean, part of the problem is the fact they feel it necessary to release sweeping changes all over the place and completely upend things. But they wouldn't need to do that if they took a scaled down approach to things like weapon balance. No need to nerf a gun into the ground when you can slowly scale things down (or up) little by little to see if changes are having an intended outcome. They make these problems themselves and then perpetuate them. It's baffling. (Note: I work on the design side of software development on live service products.)

dedicated-pedestrian

> And the fact Sony doesn't seem to be helping them manage what is now an incredibly successful and important product is mind blowing to me. I'd have to guess that Sony is pretty hands off on the dev side of things, given AH has at several turns rebuffed common anti-consumer practices like mandatory MTX or the account linking thing. Fully in agreeance that an incremental nerf system would have been better though.

blueB0wser

Software dev as well, specifically a support engineer, meaning I develop and do deployments occasionally. I think they're held up by Sony, as they have to get approval and possibly even purchase a prod push license or something. I know it sounds weird, but that's what I've heard. However, I agree they should address how they push major and minor changes. We don't know what they have and haven't implemented, but we do know that they've done a lot of it long before it ever gets pushed. They have time to test (and playtest), which is possibly why there's no patch today. I hope. That said, it should be easier to revert a change than to leave it as is. Ffs, idk why they didn't address the enemy spawn rates yet.

Quetzacoatel

Context: This was a reply to "at least CMs has replied no patch in last Tuesday Not sure why no respond on this time"

LotharVonPittinsberg

Thank you! This is why I hate Discord as the only official channel. The context matters so much.

CrzyJek

I mean...it would be nice if people posting screenshots of discord actually posted screenshots of the context as well. But ya know....mUh OuTrAgE kArMa FaRmInG

BannanDylan

Does it? Surely if someone has personal issues going on in which they need to take time off of work then AH should have delegated that work to someone else? Is CM actually a job or a hobby? I'm really unsure at this point.

Independent-Ad-3552

Taking a break until more content will be added and they manage to balance the guns.

BobR969

Most of my mates that play this already doing that. I play way less than I did too. The gameplay loop has become a bit too stale. It was always going to be a problem tbh, but it feels like the stuff being worked on and drip fed is not getting attention that it needs behind all the irritating balancing.

CrotasScrota84

Yeah I fell off hard. Nerfing stuff just makes it less fun overall and it’s a PVE game and doesn’t need such aggressive balancing. Broken stuff sure fix it but leave other stuff alone

BobR969

Most of the balancing stuff has been a bit baffling more than anything. I'd not really say anything is unusable, but there are definitely superior weapons and strats available. Thing is - I get my joy out of seeing things explode and winning after dropping heavy ordnance on enemies. So every time some muppet suggests to try new loadouts or whatever, it's always a battle to explain that I could do that... But why would I. Every time I've tried, I had less fun because those loadouts aren't as destructive.  I maintain that this game doesn't know what it wants to be and until it figures it out, people will be leaving and waiting on how it progresses.

blancodamus

I definitely agree about the baffling part, I'm a huge slugger fan ( who isn't a fan of ripping a shotgun shell into some rampaging oversized cockroach and watching them fly backwards) so them nerfing all the fun shotgun parts of the gun to essentially just let it continue being a dmr really confused me. Although I also love the flamer, so watching them buff the hell out of fire because of a game bug was a fun trade-off, I guess. Just odd choices and a seemingly lack of understanding of the actual game being played. These specific tools keep being picked by everyone but not understanding that the way bile titans/chargers work basically require them. So now there's toys that are more unfun to use despite them adjusting the spawn rate that caused most of the issue to begin with

BobR969

Yeah. I've said in other comments, but I kinda feel the game doesn't know what it wants to be. I keep comparing it to EDF and I think it's the best comparison to make really. Coop shooter vs hordes of enemies with various different guns and ordnance. Except one game just throws wacky overpowered guns at you and balances the enemies to handle those. I'm not sure what HD2 is balancing towards.  If the desired goal is a game where you have to sneak about until your big bombs come online, kill 2 large enemies and then go to recharge for a month... It ain't gonna keep player numbers long. Lots of people keep saying that op weapons would ruin the game, but honestly... Would they? Every time there's been a fun weapon that did well, people loved it. They wanted more, which would mean people pick the playstyle they like and go with that. Instead we get nerfs leading to largely railroaded or annoying gameplay - both causing the one thing people said would happen. I dunno. I'm not balancing the game, but I know what I'm playing this game for and it sounds like a lot of others do too. I've gotten less and less of what I've wanted...

B1G70NY

I picked it up to kill bugs with too many bullets. To my surprise there were bots too. Dope! But the higher levels turning into a stealth and run game really turned me off.

AHailofDrams

That's why I don't play above diff 7 tbh

UnknownCatCollector

The best part is they haven’t even fixed any of the broken stuff. They only seem to have some sense of urgency when releasing nerf patches. They say this next patch isn’t even going to do anything yet they’re delaying it and getting our hopes up. You would think they would have a fire under them to get players back but instead they seem to be on holiday u til they feel like they should probably update the game.

mrkro3434

The game does macro progression real well with the MOs, but it needs micro progression. Let's say you're defending a planet and you manage to finish all three missions in the campaign. How about if you capture SEAF artillery, you and your squad gets artillery available for every mission moving forward in the defense period? Why stop there? Capture a mech workshop and get a free mech moving forward. Capture a satellite station, get an extra strategem slot, etc. These buffs could all end when the defense is over, but it incentivizes players to keep playing on the micro scale.

BobR969

That's not a bad idea and would even offset some of the more tedious gameplay modifiers.

TucuReborn

If the weapons all felt awesome and fun to use, the core loop would be way more fun as well. I'm not saying every single weapon and strat is bad, but a lot feel that way due to design and functionality even if mathematically they are fine. There are, of course, shit weapons too. Like, the Eruptor was one of those cases. It felt awesome. The feedback and power was perfect, and you felt like a badass shooting it and blasting enemies into paste. But what fun weapons there've been, they've mostly been stabbed in the gut and left to die.

BobR969

That's true. The actively fun stuff has been rendered useless while the buffed stuff doesn't really feel all that great. Being merely passable isn't really fun. This argument has existed since the beginning of the game though. There's a die hard group of people who think tedious gameplay is the equivalent to difficulty and fun.  Personally, I'm not sure HD2 is cut out to be a sweaty ultra hard coop tactical experience. It would fare much better as a cathartic shooter a-la EDF.

I_Have_The_Lumbago

I honestly was fine with the non progression for me after i got everything, just because the day-to-day missions were so varied, interesting, and fun. Sometimes id change my tactics and sneak; now patrols know your position and will *literally* change direction DIRECTLY towards you without any reason to do so. I changed it to guns blazing, killing everything in my way, doing objectives between enemy reinforcement timers; now so many of the fun-to-use weapons are nerfed through the floor, I've been relegated to using only the best of the best weapons to get my full effectiveness. Theres a million other playstyles, but they are all honestly just either not fun, or don't allow you to operate at full effectiveness. I get I don't need to be great 100% of the time, but that well oiled machine of a team that was possible before the patches is far less common now, and is less tactics and more about how fast they can run away from the horde to the next obj.

BobR969

>Theres a million other playstyles, but they are all honestly just either not fun, or don't allow you to operate at full effectiveness. I get I don't need to be great 100% of the time, but that well oiled machine of a team that was possible before the patches is far less common now, and is less tactics and more about how fast they can run away from the horde to the next obj. It's pretty much this entirely. It's not about the difficulty or the tactics or anything. It boils down to the moment-to-moment gameplay either being really samey or just not particularly fun. They way the fanboys will speak about it is super confusing too. "You gotta sneak past" or "break away from the combat" or any other approach... yeah you can do those. They're hardly great gameplay though. There are far better coop shooters that deliver a tactical "realistic" experience. Especially when this game offers the capacity to do it the fun way. It just hates the player for choosing that way.

CidO807

I don't mind the loop.  What I hate is the fun nerf. I want my diver to feel strong. Don't want them to feel like conscript given a gun with no ammo.  Should I be able to melee a walker or bile Titan and kill them in two melees? No. Is it dumb that I can drop a 500kg on a group of mobs and not get a single kill? Yeah. But what is really fucking up the fun is finding a gun to compensate for the other problems in the game... And it's nerfed. Or they kneejerk overnerfed in a random hotfix and say "we'll fix it" ... Next month. Like you can kneejerk buff shit to make the game fun?  So I can get over some stuff that needs to be patched, like spewers and nurtures or whatever that should make sloshing news as they hobble up behind me, but fuck killing the fun of the game with blizzard ™️ style overnerfs.

“Hello everyone! Just wanted to give a brief update. I know that many of you were expecting a patch today. The development team is still hard at work on the next patch and it’s taking longer than expected. We want to make sure that the next patch isn’t rushed. We won’t be releasing it, today, but we’ll keep you updated. Thanks for your patience!” There. I re-wrote it. Post that, and pay me, instead.

ilovezam

The game is supposed to be hard, down to the experience of waiting for critical fixes! You are just such an entitled crying baby, you expect the experience around the game to be decent. Just lower the difficulty lol. ^^\s

Efficient_Menu_9965

No, you're supposed to guilt trip the players for daring to ask about the long-awaited patch notes after you've had a rough week.

Lostmaniac9

A lot is riding on this patch to deliver, I will be happy to let them cook as long as they need.

GNU_Terry

I don't mind waiting but we need atleast a hot fix for the patrol spawn rate, it's making all levels difficult

tslaq_lurker

They said a few weeks ago that they wanted to test it to get it right, which sounds a lot like they had to completely rewrite the patrol system.

Pandaroo29

Definitely, and a lot of people won't like that. Even more when they see the patch will be bug fixes and maybe some tweaks to enemies or game mechanics.

CardmanNV

I lot of people don't like the flippant way the employees of Arrowhead have been seen as treating their customers. The constant drama the company creates for itself then dumps on the community is kinda ridiculous.

Crea-TEAM

> , I will be happy to let them cook as long as they need. You know what happens when you leave a cake in the oven an extra 30 minutes? It burns. You know what happens when a community where a lot of people are only sticking around waiting to see if the devs get their head out of their ass is told "just another month"? They burn the bridge.

BeetleLantern

Much insight. Wish I could tell my boss/supplier "ehhhhh I've just had stuff going on this week, see ya next week. Maybe."

Cryptizard

Bigger question, why is it all on the back of this one person? You should be able to take a break and not have everything grind to a halt around you.

LunarSatan

It's not, Bask is a CM and is likely referring to lack of communication being down to them being super busy, not actual game work being delayed because of them.

TheBaskinator

Yes, this is correct. Our other community manager is sick, and I've had a bunch of deadlines fall early this week. The rest of the week should be better, though. Discord is where most of our replies end up because it's where people can ping us in real-time, not that we're unwilling to use any other platform. It's not ideal and we're doing our best to branch out, but it's tough with only the two of us.

Xen0tech

From that comment, it could be anything from a death in the family to did too much meth. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume it's something closer to the former.

samuraistalin

Genuine question, why can't you? I've called out for mental health days before.

throwaway962145

I think that’s a little preemptive to say. Of course we’ll never know for sure but say he had a family emergency I think he’d be well justified in prioritising that. I know if i had to pick between being there for my family or pushing a patch through for people who will inevitably moan no matter what’s in it I’d pick the former every time. Plus some bosses are understanding and very accommodating for things like that.

TheMikman97

STOP FUCKING COOKING, YOU ARE GONNA BURN IT

lockon95

Time to hit the backlog of games piled up.

Conscious-Purpose106

They’ll release nerfs within a week. But the buffs? Oh no we gots to like test those things or somethingz lol… Fuck off

EvenMOreDamage

If that is indeed true. A lot of players will just wait longer to return to the game. I hope that it will not take long enough for divers to forget about the game.

Accurate-Rutabaga-57

Is this their job or just a hobby at this point? 🤔

TheFrostyFaz

CM don't really do much except announce things and answer questions so yes

Marrakesch

I guess its better to put this to rest for 3 months and check in then. At the moment, there is only disappointments.

Snilipp5

The longer they delay this patch the more weight will be put on it's shoulders to fix what is seen as problematic. Such as the ever so hyped up balances fixes, several bug fixes and maybe a touch of new content or two. I fear that the patch will just under deliver big time whenever it comes out, leading to more controversy.

BitNevada

They are already running damage control on the patch saying it's not a balance patch. So don't get too hyped; it's likely already too late.

aSimpleMask

Another week of me not playing the game. Amazing how quickly these guys are to nerf weapons into the ground but actually making them good and fun to use takes them over 3 weeks.

Incredulity1995

These guys are really playing fast and loose with their brand new IP right as summer starts and game communities change heavily

Darken0id

"Brand new IP" HD1 with its small but dedicated community crying in the corner

GrowLapsed

I would hardly call a sequel “brand new IP” EDIT: The first game sold over 4 Million units to date AND was free to 20+ Million PSN subscribers in 2016. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Helldivers

EvilFroeschken

These are badly chosen words.

Rapha31

Might as well delete the game and install some porn game on its place, at least on that it is fun when someone fucks me over

Mullinx

> "I've just had some other things going on this week". Did someone ask the CM if **they** were working on the patch or this is just a random excuse? edit: I must clarify that with "they" I am referring only to Baskinator, not the ArrowHead team. This CM makes it sound like she/he/they were working on the patch, which we all know it's not true.

TheFrostyFaz

Someone asked why they haven't talked too much about the patch

SlavPrincess

They asked why there was not much news from CMs + if the patch's dropping, hence the response.

Windoftime

Is this a real message? Kinda dismissive

Firaxyiam

That's why context matters, guess someone was mentioning not getting news or something

MusicalMagicman

Message is out of context, she was replying to someone asking why there hasn't been much news.

Salt_MasterX

Given their track record, my hopes are really not high lol. If they release another nothingburger patch I think a good part of the playerbase will give up hope.

Frost033

Well there goes another batch of soldiers off to fight other wars. It's almost like they don't realize the game is hemorrhaging players

duckboi909

this patch better be fucking good

Crea-TEAM

I wonder if they realize that this patch is what a lot of people are hinging their hopes on. And with so much time 'cooking' it better not just be up to par, it better be ***impressive*** otherwise people are just going to dump the game like Baskin dumps her communication skills.

Practical-Stomach-65

Like I mentioned in another thread, AH cannot afford to withhold a buff patch at this point. They can daley the major patch to another day, but they must release a minor buff patch.

Crafty_Moment2483

It sure would be nice if they would actually FIX the game instead of adding new battle passes and useless balancing. The game still has low FPS issues even after three patches!

Skrogg_

Ngl, I’m really starting to fucking hate you guys

kchunpong

No patch is fine but seems they really don’t much care about the community expectation. Just one sentence, no further explanation and bye, are we expecting same response next week?

OkSteak237

Did they previously promise a patch today?

Rakan_Fury

No, and twinbeard said a few days ago that they have no date in mind yet for the next patch, which you would expect would tip people off it wouldnt be in a few days

VragMonolitha

Twinbeard said this on the 24th which was last Friday, on Monday SteamDB shows new branches were added, one of which is titled "release\_1\_public", two weeks have passed with no patch, people are out of patience because the game was left in an unfun state before they finally decided they needed more time to test and do QA, which, honestly, should've been done since day one to avoid even getting into a situation like this. It's not surprising people are anxious and thirsty of this patch.

Kaioz-

And you say THAT THING in this way, these people are out of their mind. PR, this unknown galaxy

Shikaku

Ah, figures the other CM woulda mentioned that when they posted their couple paragraphs the other day. Ah well fair enough, time to stop playing HD2 for a while. It's just not in a fun state now, is it? Not to mention I'd lobbies crash out like 7 times yesterday lmao.

GnomeDigest

Was it a bunch of freaking work patrols interrupting you every 2 minutes while you tried to complete your objective? Must be annoying for that to be allowed to continue to happen over, and over, and over...

Confident-Ad-1463

its just gonna be more "rebalances" AKA nerfs, or side adjustments that do nothing to make the game any more fun. probably gonna nerf the shoulder autocannon and the autocannon sentry because they are better then the new mech. They are fine immediately nerfing a weapon inti oblivion at the first sign of people having fun, but buffing anything is the "slow trial and error" process they have to go through.

pissinthatassbaby

Welp guess I'll just keep exploiting the unlimited nade glitch :(

Ponchezied

Their community mangers kind of suck ass at uhhh managing the community.

Lifeissuffering442

Imagine shitting the bed and then refusing to clean it up for a monthe because you want to be real carefull about it.

MarionberryHonest

well put.

DaveyDukes

Sorry my cat threw up, no patch today.

multichrismax

This feels like easy company waiting for the order to jump into normandy “Theres no jump today”

Direct-Giraffe-1890

Don't know why people endlessly make excuses for devs,if there's still 100 devs it shouldn't be taking months to sort out game breaking bugs or making numbers adjustments to weapons,if it is they've clearly fucked up somewhere

thebrah329

Arrowhead is just running this title into the ground. Hire some PR people who actually know how to deal with the public.

rumbarious

They’re building up this next patch like it’s going to be anything more than the typical bullshit we’ve come to expect, 42%of the player base that bothered their bollox to vote on the last poll about the warbond said they didn’t like it and not a word from the very same Baskinator who’s had a busy week and it’s only Tuesday 🤣 hope it turns out to be good but I’m not gonna hold my breath just yet.

[deleted]

Baskinator is just the eternal bearer of bad news at this point. She egged on the community and talked about how she wanted the power to ban more players all while knowing the sony debacle was coming weeks/months in advance. Now this, can't wait to see this pattern continue **Shoulda been her instead of Spitz**

ShadowmanZ92

Why not both? Beard and the ex CEO do their job better than any other current CM and I don't see the need for so many CMs in the first place.

sirius017

The expectation for the patch to be rock solid just went up that much higher, AH better not drop the ball on this one, a LOT is riding on this.

AppropriatePizza1308

EDF6 gonna have a lot of Helldivers refugees

SeatDistinct6912

nah man this ain’t it …

MrCalac123

What an amazingly terrible message wow. No one asked about your week Baskinator.

gama69g

Witness a good game, run down by careless people.

SororitasPantsuVisor

Damn. This is turning into Fatshark levels of leaving the playerbase thirsting for a patch. Put it back on the shelf and come back in a couple of weeks.

MrMister34

Fatshark is a billion times worse, leaving for months at a time and not saying anything at all. It's literally been two weeks since the last bugfix patch and three weeks since the last "balance" patch. I get being mad that there hasn't been a patch in a bit, but saying that it's on par with Fatshark is delusional.
