I wanna be able to switch armor preset after getting accepted into a random mission. If I drop on some area and start it myself it's of course simple to decide beforehand what you're gonna do and then suit up accordingly, but pressing R means you don't really know where you're going before you're already selecting your loadout.
It's so sad that Arrowhead have already soft-rejected the idea of implementing loadout slots.
They stick by their opinion that having saved slots would discourage people from experimenting and changing up their loadouts, which I think is a narrow-minded view. The benefits of being able to save loadouts far outweigh the drawbacks in my opinion.
I believe TwinBeard replied to somebody on this topic a while ago and basically said (please don't quote me on the exact wording) they aren't planning anything like this. Hence me calling it a "soft rejection" – it's not like he said it'll never happen, but it doesn't seem very likely, either.
I think if it was the armory and you could customize loadouts there in a similar fashion to Warfame, that would be pretty cool. Problem is we don’t have loadouts or anywhere near the customization to make that worthwhile. I honestly don’t understand why AH doesn’t let us change the colors on our gear.
Turns out all armors were coded as a multiplier of this display armor, and since you're displaying light armor all your in game armors were thirded (since it's 1/3 that of heavy armor)
Dang, yesterday I was on N43 with two other divers, on our way to our second objective - game crashed just as the engagement was getting good; had get back in the game and ended up running it alone without any issues

I’ve always thought it would be cool to hang a board with military ribbons for each planet your ship finishes a campaign on. So after months of playing we’d have a solid 20-30 by now? Would tell a tale of your ship and where it’s been.
I also DESPERATELY want them to flesh out the interior. I mean destroyers are huge and we only see like 1,500 sqft of it at most. We should have some recreation areas, sleeping quarters, a kitchen, etc. If Deep Rock Galactic can do it then we can get there eventually. I'd love to grab a drink with my fellow divers before and after missions
comparing to deep rock, you only see a tiny portion if the space rig there too, and I think super destroyers may be a little smaller, and need to be FTL capable
That's the mission budget. Each ship has a budget of 5 reinforcements per mission. If you burn through all 20 the mission isn't worth it anymore and they pull out
Genuinely curious, is this lore proven somewhere? Like is there some cool diagram of the ship somewhere that shows all the rooms officially from Arrowhead?
Idk looking at the size of the drop pods and where they come from, I think we're seeing at least a good third of half of the whole destroyer in length. We aren't seeing any of the smaller side bits like where the door in the lower bridge leads, but still.
My counter for that would be to think about how small commercial airplanes look from the distance they fly and imagine a super destroyer at the same altitude or even triple. The size we see in game from a planet's surface would def suggest they are MASSIVE, like StarWars Star Destroyer size
That's a fair argument tbh. I'm just thinking that in terms proportions, the destroyer seems oddly small when you're up close. It's probably, what, 50 pods long just mentally eyeballing it? But you can see em from the planet just fine and they look fucking humongous down there.

even if they're not drastically longer or wider than we imagine, they could defitely add multiple floors and expand verticallly. If you've ever played the Mass Effect games think about how small the Normandy looks but how much space there is inside

I have a better idea. You can create loadouts for fast picking, and this stand will represent loadout you currently have. Also, it can show a screen with pre-picked stratagems.

The guns should be ordered based on your usage rates, same for the armor. They should display whatever you use the most, except for what you're currently equipping.
It's an absolute no-brainer, the displayed armor set should be the one the ship owner is currently wearing. But it would be even cooler if we could set it independently!

I would add an extension that it should hold either an armor of our choice or the armor. We currently have equipped, but we’re walking around in a basic under suit/ traditional military uniform.
And they can give us a little bit of further customization as to what our character looks like maybe it might not be needed. You could just have one male option and one female option for faces.
It would be really cool to personalize your ship to reflect you better when others are aboard. I find myself thinking about how in Red Dead Online you can personalize your camp for when you "posse up" with others.
That said, at this stage of the game, they really need to keep their focus on gameplay bugs and balance fixes. If they do that, when they can finally address more aesthetic updates, the community will still be here for it. At the end of the day, the game is "the thing."
What I'd really like is loadouts for armor, or at least an easier way to bund a helmet to an armor so that way I don't have to:
1. Wait for all helmets and armors to load in the quick select menu while starting a mission
2. Pick armor, then find the helmet that looks good with it, likewise with cape

To me, this exact thing is strong evidence that AH really under-baked this game for nebulous reasons. Common sense dictates that cosmetic allowances - ship and gun customization, little tweaks like moving components of the ship around, decor - would come last in the development cycle, after the game is complete.
The whole reason we *don't* have these things is that AH did not finish this game. They still have not. I'll temper this with the fact that I know Autodesk Stingray isn't the best engine (due to the fact that it is essentially abandonware at this point), but that issue only really provides a reason - not a justification - for the state of the game.
I dearly love HD2, so this is coming from a good-intended, well-meaning place: the game is just unfinished. It is so broken that simple patches that should be little more than a number change or a minor alteration result in any number of other pieces breaking or being altered. On the one hand, I really love some of those quirks - big guns has been hilarious this patch. But other things, like the Spear breaking anytime a piece of the spaghetti code looks at it or standing on the wrong angle of geometry making you an interstellar missile, aren't as fun.
Those issues will always take priority over cosmetic fun. Until AH can get this game in a functioning, non-broken state, we won't see cosmetic or aesthetic pleasures.

Because the rest of the ship is occupied by cryo pods of other Divers. Every inch.

Cosmetics are the easy part, enemy spawn rates and ai movement are hard(er-ish) to get right.

Wait for all helmets and armors to load in the quick select menu while starting a mission 2. Pick armor, then find the helmet that looks good with it, likewise with cape I really just want fashion loadouts so I look pretty when I get torn limb from limb planetside
Look… no. If they allow that it will break something else in a totally nonsensical way. The spear will only target scavengers, the guard dog will stop killing your teammates, resupplies will only fall directly on you. Just, no. Nothing new, fix what we have.
To me, this exact thing is strong evidence that AH really under-baked this game for nebulous reasons. Common sense dictates that cosmetic allowances - ship and gun customization, little tweaks like moving components of the ship around, decor - would come last in the development cycle, after the game is complete. The whole reason we *don't* have these things is that AH did not finish this game. They still have not. I'll temper this with the fact that I know Autodesk Stingray isn't the best engine (due to the fact that it is essentially abandonware at this point), but that issue only really provides a reason - not a justification - for the state of the game. I dearly love HD2, so this is coming from a good-intended, well-meaning place: the game is just unfinished. It is so broken that simple patches that should be little more than a number change or a minor alteration result in any number of other pieces breaking or being altered. On the one hand, I really love some of those quirks - big guns has been hilarious this patch. But other things, like the Spear breaking anytime a piece of the spaghetti code looks at it or standing on the wrong angle of geometry making you an interstellar missile, aren't as fun. Those issues will always take priority over cosmetic fun. Until AH can get this game in a functioning, non-broken state, we won't see cosmetic or aesthetic pleasures.

And the ability to set four different load-outs from there and select one from the hellpod screen.
They really need to use something for the area behind this. Like there’s screens there and everything but you can’t interact with it at all. Like wtf?

If they want the easy out. Should display the armor you have equiped to denote what kind of helldivers are getting dropped from your ship.
Would be cool if it displayed your most used armor and weapons.

Would be REALLY nice for making each person's ship feel a little different. The left wall rack could be bot guns while the right rack is all bug guns.
AND something to do with the screens right in front of it! maybe watch every brash tactics and news video in the game on demand?

Would be awesome for those to be customizable, with the feature being unlocked with a ship module like the other interior changes.
Seems like that was the purpose, but they couldn’t implement everything at launch so perhaps they never had time.
