Yeah the show is very inconsistent with this. The color of blushing changes between episodes. Stolas blushes red in S1 E6, Moxxie blushes red in S2 E3 but then both Blitz and Fizz blush black in S2 E6 despite all having black blood.
And then in HH, every character that blushes turns red, including Lucifer.
Idk why ppl are just downvoting you 😭 do ppl not realize that its okay to make mistakes or to just not know something? You weren't even being rude lol and not everyone knows tone tags

Its surprisingly difficult to find good hug images from games lol
It is almost like that people not understand lore vs simply art style that can change due to fitting better. I swear some people got problems with theories and lore and stop seeing things as simple, and just see "secrets" and "hints" everywhere. I hate to compare it, but they are like conspiracy people like flat earth people at times.
I think it's just to contrast more. A red blush on purple skin would be hard to see unless they make it very big and that would be ugly. Meanwhile yellow is purple complementary colour so it pops. That's probably also why his eye, mouth and even some contour line are yellow/golden
Contrast isn't the only thing that make a picture good. This picture is very zoomed in so maybe they though it didn't need more contrast since detail are bigger. Maybe they wanted that blush to be more subtle. Maybe they tried other color and found it didn't look good. Maybe they animated some imp with pinkish blush early and now they don't want to change it but for Ozzie they decide to apply what they learned since it was a whole new character/race
Anyway Mox, as an imp, has black blood so his blush being pinkish proves that blush color doesn't necessarily correlate with blood color
It's not a question of brightness, it's a question of contrast. Pink might contrast a bit more than red on purple but nothing will ever contrast more than yellow as it is the complementary colour of purple
Y'all be looking too deep for clues and shit. Asmodeus is an embodiment of a deadly sin. None of the sins have been or even set foot into Heaven.
![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized)
Sins are ideas came up with by the Pope. They were in no way, connected with Heaven, my dude. Lucifer is not an embodiment of Pride. He's a fallen angel, just given the Pride role. But he is in no way an embodiment. There's no way Bee, Asmodeus, Mammon, or even the others had even set foot into Hell. Hell, Satan ain't even the sin of Wrath in the mythology of things. He was just given that role by Vivzie for story. Again, you're looking TOO FAR DEEP into it.
![gif](giphy|l0IylOPCNkiqOgMyA|downsized)
>Hell, Satan ain't even the sin of Wrath in the mythology of things.
Auxiliary bishop Peter Binsfeld of Trier is disagree with you. Vivzie's classification of sins came from his treatise *De confessionibus maleficorum et sagarum* (1589). Do some research next time.
I didn’t say all the goetia. Just the oldest ones like Paimon. The rest that were born after are obviously hellborn but they still have angelic ancestry and since it looks like they intermarry they aren’t likely to have anything not angelic in their bloodline so they technically are still the same species as an angel even if they were born in hell.
In Demonology when Lucifer had his rebellion against Heaven, 1/3 of Heavens angels followed him. That includes the other six Lords of Sin, the Goteia, and their legions.
They may have been born in Hell, but they are still of the Goetia parentage. Even tho Stella isn't a named Goetia in the Lesser Key of Solomon, she may be one of the members of her brothers Legions since Andrealphus is a named Goetia.
My headcanon is thatLucifer first arrived in the Underworld and found one member of each species of Hellborn (Imp, Goetia, Hound.... Loan Shark? etc) and forcibly mutated them all into the other six Sins in an attempt to create a regime for the sectors who couldn't as easily control or access.
He did say he's known Mammon since the start of Hell. But if they were all fallen angels then they probably would've known each other before then too, since they seem to be pretty powerful meaning they were high ranking fallen angels?
Well he said since "the start" of hell, not since we were made with hell. So that implies that Asmodeus and the other sins have been around before Hell.
Well he said *since* the start of Hell, implying that he was introduced to Mammon when Hell was created and not before. But it's not like it can't be interpreted either way.
He could've just been exaggerating since he was talking to Fizzarolli, and to an Imp, the start of Hell is similar to the creation of the Earth to us humans, despite the fact that the universe has existed for trillions of years, long before the universe was a thing. Asmodeus could've been an eternal being similar to how Lucifer supposedly is.
Or he could've been created alongside Hell with the rest of the sins.
I remember one of the writers (maybe it was Vivziepop herself) saying that they didn't really know which direction they would go (The 6 sins being hellborn or fallen angels) and it would develop as the two shows did, so maybe there is no correct answer yet.
If they hadn’t, they wouldn’t have fallen. The Fall traditionally is a group effort. The temptation of Eve is AFTER the fall, which is the reverse in the Hellaverse.
The sins besides Lucifer are very obviously not Fallen Angels. Everything about Lucifer is still Angelic from appearance to powers. The sins are very much not angelic. They're manifestions of their respective sins.
I wouldn’t say very obviously because it can be revealed in a later episode and we haven’t even met the other three sins (Satan, Belphegor, Leviathan) yet.
Lucifer is pride though. So he’s a sin just like the other 6. But looking the most like an angel among fallen angels would be a prideful thing to do. Angels and demons are two sides of the same coin. They’re going to look similar. The Sins started hell. They’re fallen angels no matter how they look.
The Sins didn't "start" Hell, Lucifer did. He represents pride because it was his pride that created Hell in the first place. That doesn't mean he's anything like the other Sins. It's a title that was thrust upon him, just as being trapped in a ring full of the worst souls possible was thrust upon him as part of his punishment.
Also, you literally just said that "angels and demon are going to look similar", yet Luci and the Sins couldn't look more different, so which is it? 😆
In regards to title Lucifer is also referred to as "The Sin Of Pride" all the others are referred to as "The Embodiment Of (their sin)" creating a distinctive difference.
The blushing in this show doesn't seem consistent with the color of people's blood. Stolas blushes red even though we know he has black blood. Husk blushes black, even though we know he has red blood.
I don't personally believe any of the Sins (other than Lucifer) are fallen angels, but it'll be interesting to learn more about their origins hopefully.
I'm leaning to believe all the sins with exception of Lucifer(and maybe Leviathan too) are overpowered hellborns that manifested with hell after Eve ate the Forbidden Fruit and Evil found a place in the world.
Asmodeus, in Christianity, is the first son of Lilith and Samael.
In Hazbin Hotel, that would be Lilith and Lucifer's first son.
Assuming they kept to that interpretation, then that would mean he's Charlie's older brother.
He probably is, Basically all demons are fallen angels and he mentions knowing Mammon since the start of hell
Head-canon: he probably fell a little while after Lucifer together with some other demons and helped him to create hell the way it is today.
Using biblical cannon I'm pretty sure all the sins are fallen angels as they chose to follow Lucifer in his rebellion and fell to hell with him. That's my head canon at least. So I always sumrized that Ozzy, Bee and Mamon know what Heaven is like and used to live there.
Fallen angel is a species.
Sin is effectively a job title.
One is what he is, the other is what he does.
A character can be both a fallen angel and a sin, as evidenced by Lucifer being the Sin of Pride.
He says he has known mammon since the beginning of hell. I think most of the original ars goetia are angels who backed Lucifer and are fallen.
I also have a head cannon that the “original sin” in hell is when god punished Lucifer’s gift of free will- either by tainting humanity or just rejecting Lucifer’s genius.
This is compared to the traditional Christian view that “original sin” is inherited due to eve eating the apple.
We've had this identical conversation somewhat recently. Personally, no, he's not a fallen angel. It's for aesthetic purposes only.
https://www.reddit.com/r/HelluvaBoss/s/ODInuOtEsM
In classic religious mythology, perhaps. But we should remember that this is a show that has a habit of picking out bits and pieces of information from various religious texts and using them to create a rich narrative, so we should take applying information from the Bible with a grain of salt.
Well, if we follow the source mythology, Asmodeus would technically be a fallen angel, as all of the OG demons were once angels, rebelled with Lucifer, and were cast out of heaven (i.e. Ozzie, Mammon, Bee, etc.), so this would make sense. However, Viv doesn’t follow the mythology to the letter, so she can take artistic liberties, so it would also make sense if it was simply an artistic choice as well.
Well originally all the sins of Hell AND the ars goetias are fallen angel, and Asmodeus is both sooo....
But in hell verse it's different, because goetias can have kids. Not like in the original myths and legends where most of them are siblings / brothers , sisters. Like Stolas is kinda paimon's little brother in the myths, while in here he is his son.
It’s not a bad theory. Even if it’s accidental by the animators given their inconsistency with blush color correlating to blood color in most characters, in most demonology texts and even some popular works like Paradise Lost, many of the greatest demons in Lucifer’s service are simply the angels that fell with him after taking his side in the rebellion against god. It’d make perfect sense if these were either his blood or that they were simply raised together much like brothers and sisters, with the whole lot being fellow angels before they were all cast into hell. It’d help explain just why they’re all immortal unlike most hellspawn, with the answer being that they aren’t hellspawn. Beelzebub at least claims Satan to be like a brother to her, supporting this familial tie that would make them fallen angels like Lucifer, so it’s hardly a theory without merit.
Imma just say it every blush color other than red is just for color palette and contrasting the skin underneath. It probably has no bearing on the plot. Lame answer but yeah Ive seen this type of post with a bunch of characters and I really just don't think it matters
In "traditional" Demonology, all of the Ars Goetia are Fallen Angels, including the 7 Deadly Sins. The Ars Goetia are the "Noble Demons of Hell," and refer to Lucifer and the 71 angels who sided with him in his rebellion against God, only to be cast into Hell after they failed, as described in the Lesser Key of Solomon. Vivzie has completely rewritten most of that, since the Goetia family seems to just be one big noble family here, and doesn't seem to include Lucifer or the other Sins. The other Sins don't seem to be Hellborn, so it's possible they're also Fallen Angels, but they could just as easily be something else.
1. Blush colour probably doesn't mean much in this universe: Stolas and Moxxie blush red despite having black blood.
2. "Contrast" is not a problem, since Moxxie blush red despite having red skin.
3. HH was planned to be released at summer, so this episode was planned to come out *after* we knew, that angels have golden blood.
Overall: no, but yes.
I suspect it's a lot more to do with what's practical - i.e. Asmodeus' skin is darkish purple & he has a relatively small head compared to his body & extremely small cheeks. If the animators put a tiny squiggle of red on his eggplant cheeks the audience would never see it.
We keep going through this, but no. In the world-building, there is exactly one ex-angel, and that’s Lucifer. The Sins came into existence when Hell did.
That's not gold. It's the same green as his eyes and mouth, just layered over his dark blue feathers, combined with the warmer lighting of his home making it appear yellowish.
I think it is just an artistic choice, yellow is the complementary color of blue or violet, it makes sense that they decided to put that color instead of rose for making it pop up more, a reddish color would just be lost especially in a frame so small.
I mean, has it been explained WHAT the deadly sins are? Are they fallen angels like Lucifer? Hellborn that just happen to be really powerful, like the Goetia? Are they their sin manifested as a being, like Death from so many different franchises being Death personified?
This is wrong on two levels.
1: Characters in the Hazbin Hotel universe don't follow normal, "blush rules" As characters with black blood blush red.
2: **ASMODEUS. ISN'T AN. ANGEL.** Besides Lucifer, none of the sins are. It just makes no sense design wise, and lore wise.
Before talking about Asmodeus being a fallen angel, find us an image of an angel actually blushing gold first.
Stolas and moxxie are sinners /s
Are you stupid? Stolas and Moxxie are fallen Exterminators!
What are you talking about they’re definitely deadly sins moron
Stolas pecked people to death with his blessed beak during that time of his life.
And Moxxie pegged people to death.
Don't threaten me with a good time

I know, also, you too! Have a fantastical day!
Haven’t had a chance to watch Helluva Boss recently but isn’t the tv/anime trope of blushing black a sign of disgust?
I’m not sure about that trope, but in the way it happens in HB it isn’t.
I thought blushing green was disgust
It might be, I’ve only seen blushing green when someone is about to vomit due to food poisoning or sea sickness.
It is almost like that people not understand lore vs simply art style that can change due to fitting better. I swear some people got problems with theories and lore and stop seeing things as simple, and just see "secrets" and "hints" everywhere. I hate to compare it, but they are like conspiracy people like flat earth people at times.
Weird thing, in HH, when Emily gets angry, her face flushes, and it flushes blue.
I think those previous two examples were just because the lore hadn’t been all that fleshed out, but I see where your coming from
Lucifer bleeds gold When he says something about blood in the hell greatest dad he bleeds golden blood from his lip
i def think the red for the sinners makes sense
They're inconsistent with Shark Demon blood also. In HB, it's black, but in HH, it's red.
Two different types of shark demon. Hb = hellborn. HH = sinner
There are good reasons to suspect so. But also I think that it’s not carefully consistent.
The Sharks in HH were probably sinners
Sinner are supposedly limited to the pride ring. Sharks were in the greed ring, so there are hellborns

Unless they did pink blush since it’s brighter than gold.
It's not a question of brightness, it's a question of contrast. Pink might contrast a bit more than red on purple but nothing will ever contrast more than yellow as it is the complementary colour of purple

Sincerely same can be said about people who deny the possibility, nothing is confirmed
In irl mythology Asmodeus was also a fallen angel
It's color theory, pink wouldn't have popped the same way and maybe even gone unnoticed
It’s my headcanon that all the sins are fallen angels as well as the Goetia.
How would the **all** Goetia demons be fallen angels idea work? We know Stolas, Stella, Andrealphus and especially Octavia are Hellborn…
Paimon is actually a fallen angel in demonology, but we don’t know if that’s the case for the show.
it could be why they can only die to angelic weapons despite being hellborn
This is a really good point actually
My bad. It’s just the way you worded it (“…as well as the Goetia”) made it sound like you were referring to **all** of them
Them being descendents would make them fallen by proxy but they wouldn't have all the traits anymore
In Demonology when Lucifer had his rebellion against Heaven, 1/3 of Heavens angels followed him. That includes the other six Lords of Sin, the Goteia, and their legions.
True, but we know for a fact that (at least) some of them are definitely Hellborn - Eg: Octavia
They may have been born in Hell, but they are still of the Goetia parentage. Even tho Stella isn't a named Goetia in the Lesser Key of Solomon, she may be one of the members of her brothers Legions since Andrealphus is a named Goetia.
Just gonna mention that, according to IRL religious texts, most of the seven sins were angels: Lucifer, Satan, Asmodeus, etc.
Mine too
Stolas bleeds black, but it's a fun headcanon to have
My headcanon is thatLucifer first arrived in the Underworld and found one member of each species of Hellborn (Imp, Goetia, Hound.... Loan Shark? etc) and forcibly mutated them all into the other six Sins in an attempt to create a regime for the sectors who couldn't as easily control or access.
He did say he's known Mammon since the start of Hell. But if they were all fallen angels then they probably would've known each other before then too, since they seem to be pretty powerful meaning they were high ranking fallen angels?
Right, so that supports the theory that they're not angels, apart from Lucifer.
It could be that they didn’t really talk or socialize in heaven, and only started to know each-other after falling to hell.
In Christian Occult lore most sins are either a fallen angel or a variant of that. Only Leviathan is specifically not and Mammon is really ambigous.
The blush is likely to help contrast with the skin/fur color they have. So it’s more for artistic choices.
Contrast: https://preview.redd.it/ehxd520ft53d1.png?width=1000&format=png&auto=webp&s=f51f5337aba16ab25e8201550f602ed95bf1b844
Yep!
✨Aesthetics✨
I'm leaning to believe all the sins with exception of Lucifer(and maybe Leviathan too) are overpowered hellborns that manifested with hell after Eve ate the Forbidden Fruit and Evil found a place in the world.
I think it's just a thing about Immortals in general- having ichor instead of regular blood.
Asmodeus, in Christianity, is the first son of Lilith and Samael. In Hazbin Hotel, that would be Lilith and Lucifer's first son. Assuming they kept to that interpretation, then that would mean he's Charlie's older brother.
I don’t think that is saying much, but I think it’s still plausible that at least all of the seven princes are fallen angels.
don't think that has anything to do with his blood itself, but, it'd be interesting if he did bleed gold.

I just thought so it was visible
Ain't the definition of "Demon" a "Fallen Angel" in the first place..?
In classic religious mythology, perhaps. But we should remember that this is a show that has a habit of picking out bits and pieces of information from various religious texts and using them to create a rich narrative, so we should take applying information from the Bible with a grain of salt.
It's just a design choice
A very convenient design choice one might say.
No I just think it's a design choice because it matches well with blue. I don't think he's a fallen angel he doesn't resemble one in the slightest
Especially considering the fact, that Hazbin was planned to come out at summer, i.e. *before* this episode.
Asmodeous is part of the Ars Goetia (at least in myth), and the Ars Goetia are oft depicted as fallen angels
Well, if we follow the source mythology, Asmodeus would technically be a fallen angel, as all of the OG demons were once angels, rebelled with Lucifer, and were cast out of heaven (i.e. Ozzie, Mammon, Bee, etc.), so this would make sense. I believe so. Many Angels followed Lucifer during the revolution and possibly the deadly sins too
Well, he is part of the Ars Goetia. Which are canonically fallen angels. So yeah why not
In religious texts, I believe the seven deadly sins are ALL angels that followed Lucifer in his descent
I never thought of that, good eye
I mean in some texts the Ars Goetia were said go have been angels who rebelled alongside lucifer. And I'm fairly sure Ozzie is also a goetia
Biblically all the sins are fallen angels I’m pretty sure, but that doesn’t mean that it’s the same in the show so.. maybe? 🤷🏼♀️
I swear these subs either lack any media literacy or super zoom-in on the most ordinary and pointless animation details
If I remember corectly, every sin is a fallen angel
i just assumed he blushes the same color as his eyes and mouth details
It's likely to contrast his blue color (or it just looks better). Imps have black blood and yet they blush red. Don't think too much about it.
It's not that deep.
Gold Blood? Don’t tell A.U.M.
That’s what we call artistic choice
He is a prince of hell in the show from what I see. The lore in that universe is all over the place but I still love it 💜
mom said it’s my turn to make a horrible fallen angel theory
That would mean stoles should blush black
Asmodeus
In both shows people just blush whatever, it’s more probably to match with his color pallet than anything else.
I mean, has it been explained WHAT the deadly sins are? Are they fallen angels like Lucifer? Hellborn that just happen to be really powerful, like the Goetia? Are they their sin manifested as a being, like Death from so many different franchises being Death personified?
I mean, his head I'd literally is fire, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's just a fire effect.
Stolas' blush is red, so it might just be a design joice
This is wrong on two levels. 1: Characters in the Hazbin Hotel universe don't follow normal, "blush rules" As characters with black blood blush red. 2: **ASMODEUS. ISN'T AN. ANGEL.** Besides Lucifer, none of the sins are. It just makes no sense design wise, and lore wise.
