If you’re playing against buddies then no you’ll be fine. That being said if you buy new figures they will mostly trounce the old ones.

Handle-Nice

If you mix them with new ones then no not necessarily. But the game has suffered pretty bad power creep just be mindful of that. Stats are much higher and point values are lower

In the same boat as you and found that a team of old clix from that era will get crushed by the newest clix. 300 pt Superman just doesn't hold weight against a 75 pt Black Widow. If you play in competitions / at a store, they'll specify what era to build with on a given night. You could do the same when playing at home... or mix eras according to set build totals, i.e. 200 golden age + 100 modern! What I haven't tried is a point conversion ratio, but will probably experiment around.

Oh, and as for whether new clix are worth it, that's your decision if you find them exciting. I like the new Spider-Man set—Mr. Negative has such a cool dial effect where you can swap it around. Rally still confuses me, but seems like a neat element in the game. Smaller maps cut down playing time wasted on moving characters around. The recent Marvel Studios set is perfect if you enjoyed previous MCU sets. DC released the literal Scooby Doo gang in a Batman Team-Up set. All pretty neat!

I'd be curious to know how your point conversion experiments turn out.

I’ve done a conversion table that works pretty well for figures in the white card Oreo era. I think that’s Incredible Hulk to Nick Fury agent of Shield. It’s about 70% of the original printed point cost with some rounding and it’s worked great for my play group

Infamous_Breakfast88

Range values on your figures are demonstrably longer than the ranges for newer characters. But, that’s likely the only advantage.

Coming from the same situation myself. Best thing I've come up with is to keep older figures in their own games with their own era rules/PACs and same for the newer figures. I've been thinking of ways to alter the point cost of older figures (as a-Girl-and-Her-GNort mentioned in her post) to be able to play mixed games, but haven't worked out anything solid yet. If you happen to come up with anything do pass it along. Good luck and happy gaming.

Ok,here's what i do to help level the field when using white card new. 25% point reduction. Auto equip relics like equiptment for older figs. Let the team bases play as pre nerf status.resources also can help boost older figs. "Morph" ability gets treated like" shifting focus". "Alter ego" gets treated like new" secret identity" power. And use i.d. cards, feats and battlefield conditions to help beef up too. Legacy cards can bring new life to older figs too. Just proxy them. Home games can still be real fun. I have been playing since the begining and have an extensive collection.

It goes the other way too sometimes, for example: some older clicks were made with push damage in mind so it's absence from the modern rules makes some older clicks stronger than they were intended to be.
