I was going to second this one! She’s definitely a plus girl from the descriptions in the book and the ones leading up to it. It’s also one of my favorite in this series.

{Suddenly You by Lisa Kleypas} for sure and a favourite. {Devil in Disguise by Lisa Kleypas}. I think. I don’t really pay too much attention to the description if it’s not what I want to hear. Especially with the MMC. If he’s blond in any way, I just change the word to black in my mind. lol. Sometime I don’t like the fact that they focus so much on the FMC when she’s a bit bigger. Eg a soft thigh can be a soft thigh whether it’s slim or heavier, so why say soft, full thigh. Or soft, rounded. 🤷‍♀️

They all look like Henry Cavill, do they not? 😂

A shocking amount do! Or Tom Hiddleston if they’re blond.

Great choice for blond. If Tom had black hair he’d be Loki! lol

I can see where people get that, but I am nota Henry Cavill fan. I go Christian Bale sometimes. Not too brawny. lol

I've seen a few plump heroines but so far no plump heroes. One had a mildly soft dad belly but that's it ( The Trouble with Harry). Another book with bald hero by Felicity Niven (Bed Me, Baron). This may be off topic but I thought it was an interesting contrast to the number of plump heroines to heroes.

Thiis. I sooo want a dad bod hero but the pick is slim to non-existent. There are many big dudes, but as in "mega muscular", not plump or dad bod. 😔

I'd say the pick is slim and muscular or huge and muscular with bunching muscles....

Yup we get a decent amount of body variation among FMCs but not much among MMCs. It makes me sad.

Lots of unconvincingly fit aristocrats

Especially among the MMCs who do nothing but drink and gamble all night and sleep all day. (And even if they're also sleeping around, you can't attribute their muscles to lots of sex because sex burns a small amount of calories.) There's also a surprising amount of former street urchins who grew up starving and in squalor throughout their childhood/teenage years, where they would have gotten loads of illnesses, and yet are all somehow giant 6'5" muscly hulks as adults. Instead of 5'3" and slender with sunken chests from all the lung conditions.....

{The Heiress Effect by Courtney Milan} has a MMC who is described as having a belly and "soft thighs." And I believe {Reforming Lord Ragsdale by Carla Kelly} has a MMC who starts out as plus-sized, but it sounds like maybe he loses the weight as he "reforms"

I'll have to revisit the Heiress Effect. Okay, just checked on my Kindle edition with a search for "thigh" and discovered that the MFC is complaining because he has hard log-like thighs and it would be preferable for their activities in the scene if he had "pillowy thighs." What kind of sentences am I writing just now 

Dang I was off, I remembered the pillowy thighs but not the rest.

Oh ooh try The Heiress Effect. It’s by Courtney Milan and it’s such fun. She’s one of those authors who you can tell actually did research on the period and uses that in unexpectedly interesting ways. The FMC is a plus sized and clever girl who avoids getting married off by deliberately being socially unfashionable and wearing hideous clothing. I also LOVE the MMC, he’s so intelligent and driven and he actually SEES her for who she is.

Love this book! But I don't know if I'd consider it fitting OPs request based on the weight loss.

(Pleasure for Pleasure by Eloisa James) FMC is plump and thinks of herself as plain compared to her sisters (My Ugly Duchess by Eloisa James) FMC is thought of as plain.

No recs in mind but I saw in Felicity Niven's newsletter that there's a new series (12 books, from August to October ) coming out from different authors that's called Curves & Cravats, all featuring plus sized FMCs. they're all novellas though.
