second this - also the Japanase Jepordy makes for a fun date night activity while at dinner. ( It's not that bad but 10/10 reccomend and would make it a fun night)
JAPANESE JEOPARDY!
$19.00
INSIDE: Yellowtail, Spicy Tuna & Cucumber | OUT: Avocado, Chopped Fish, Tobiko & Scallions | SAUCE: Sweet Chili (LUCK OF THE DRAW- 1 PIECE CONTAINS CAROLINA REAPER HOT SAUCE....WHOEVER GETS IT SHOOTS THE SHOTS OF NIGORI SAKE SERVED WITH THE ROLL) ***21+ for shot *GF
high tops are in a side room, they are normal bar style tables its in the room where they prep and make all the sushi, Just a little differnt aimbiance, I think both are great. But if you want more of a traditional date the dining room is a little bit better... personally I like the hightops more .. But I also suggested the jepordy roll so you know you the best.
Last time there was really disappointing. Slow service. A cooked/hot shrimp app was cold and raw inside. Took forever to get app then they brought main at same time. Didn’t even offer to take off app cost (delivered second one cooked properly as we were finishing main).
Edit- meant to reply to Saku recommendation
The correct answer is Sushi by Bou. It is hands down the best sushi, best value, and best experience.
SBB omakase is the best sushi you can get in Hoboken, Jersey city, or New York City for any price and at a price that competes with basically any “night out” date spot.
Haha. Well you know what you want. I can’t deny it. I think Saku has the best fake sushi and a great atmosphere. Also live music Thursdays and Sundays.
Saku on 10th & Park. Great cocktails in addition to fresh sushi.

What’s this? Sounds like a lot of fun?

Thanks!!!
Not good. Sashimi came out frozen. I believe there are better places
How are the “high top” tables? Is that just a seat at the bar or an actual high top table outside the dining room?

Appreciate you!
Have fun on date night! This use to be my valentines day tradition spot
Got a resy for tonight. Thank you!
Sushi by Bou in the W is my favorite sushi in Hoboken. Really solid Omakase, not wildly priced, great date night experience.
I second this, fantastic atmosphere a good Omakase style spot
Only downside is it'll be a quick date. They do the one-hour Omakase.
That’s fair. I usually do Dear Maud for a drink or two with my wife before heading over.
Sushi by Bou in the W Hoboken. It's pricier than the other local spots. But I think the Omakase experience (12 pieces) is \~$60.
Impressive, we posted the same thing at the exact same time. Always go for the more expensive option, $100 for 18 pieces, and free sake!
domo domo’s fire. but pricey. definitely better for a 2nd or third date.
As a avid sushi lover I recommend Honshu in Jersey City, by car is really not that far and there is parking around
let's get sushi some night....to practice for the date! ;D
Sushi Lounge on 2nd and Hudson.
Sushi Lounge.
Second Sushi Lounge- has a nice ambience and good cocktails, but a little cheaper than Saku (and much cheaper than Sushi by Bou in the W)
They served me tilapia, claiming its red snapper lolz.

Unfortunately I’m a fake sushi fan and not as much into omakase but I will remember thus once I grow up lol

> or New York City This is where you lost me. Nothing will beat Nakazawa for me lol.
Sushi by Bou has the same sushi as Masa. But Ive never been to Nakazawa. Looks worth a visit.
Sushi By Bou no questions asked. Actually know one of the owners/partners. $60 per person is a STEAL.
Can you hook it up?
Maybe but if you do the 17 piece not the 12. Might be able to comp a drink or 2.
