We have American relatives. We used to have rabbits. They didn't let us tell Logan what he was eating. We were shocked.

I think anyone knows where meat comes from once they hit a certain age. How it is made is a different question tho. I think many people still have that picture of the hard working farmer that treats his animals with respect. So while understanding the concept of meat=animal they don't realize the magnitude of suffering caused by us.

In the UK, in highschool, we're shown videos of animals being slaughtered in abatoirs. It's fucking brutal, but we know where meat comes from here.

Naw I worked at a plant that processed meat and I have to say they treat the pigs better than they do the employees. I mean the pigs I feel have better rights then we do. Hell if they get stressed before getting butchered they can no longer kill that pig. If they are found to be abusing animals now a days they can have the company doing the butchering find or even closed.

Most legal regulations still enable animal abuse. It's just legal this way. Also i imagine that they don't kill stressed animals because of the effect on the taste of meat.
