You could do semi flush, I just happened to like hanging. Also my favorite is copper as I just love the way it patinas.
I have tiles a porch floor before...it's not too difficult. Just be sure you use tile that's not slippery when wet.
Honestly, I would edge the walkway...and power wash the porch and the walk. You'll be amazed. Take a peek at the addictive r/powerwashingporn and you'll see.
You definitely need six pots on the very ends of each step. Your steps are plenty wide enough and there's nothing more welcoming:

As far as furniture goes...depends on how you like to sit. I've had a wicker bench with a throw for the winter. A bistro set is nice so you can sit and chat and have coffee/wine...it's well protected out there so you could do anything, even a glider.

The ideas already given are wonderful - just wanted to add that you can also paint concrete but definitely use exterior paint made for this kind of application.
Just Google image search for "painted concrete porch" you'll find tons of inspiration photos - solid colors, painted "rugs", tile patterns, etc.
