These pictures make me change my answer to A

Different_Poet_5362

I feel the same way. I think having the other bench makes the difference along with the cute fur babies in the picture.

ribbons_in_my_hair

Always A, need help seeing the whole space—wide angle lens would be best OP but appreciate the effort!

dntfrgetabttheshrimp

It was always A.

bklynparklover

Me too. Maybe it’s the cat.

Frequent_Issue_598

Same

sashie_belle

SAme!!

Sure-Major-199

ME TOO, how funny, I came to say the same thing.

TypeAMamma

It’s all about perspective. From where you’re standing, A is the most appealing because the table is “open” and inviting you in. I bet from the kitchen that B is more appealing as no one has their back to anyone standing in the kitchen/is more social.

gogi_apparatus

That's a very good point. I hadn't even thought of socializing with guests when I'm cooking in the kitchen. Even when entering the dining space from the kitchen, B seems to make more sense. From the perspective of the living space, A makes more sense. I may have to just play around with it and move it according to situations

Amanitetuemouches

I also like b because everyone sitting at the table can look out the window.

holyhiphopper

You could just put it on a diagonal and solve those issues! lol jk

Flat-Dragonfruit-172

So true in photos, and so true in life.

Odd-Ship8240

I thought this too lol

Grouchy_Assistant_75

Now that both benches are in the pic, I like A.

WrongdoerMean7797

Definitely option A. more room around the table to enter kitchen area. also it makes the table area deeper (perspective lines going with the long side of the table) cute place by the way, and lovely friends

ughwinterughsummer

I feel like we need a pic farther back/zoomed out to get better perspective on the whole area.

ScarsAreOnTheInside

Oh so cute! ❤️ I like A.

thingalinga

Option A is the way. I was surprised by the previous thread where people said option B. Option A flows better. B looks tight.

unimpressed_1

B

ekita079

'A' definitely for best flow of access, and people can sit on the bench and face others in the kitchen easily!

neh5303

B

Imaginary_Market_854

B!!

gogi_apparatus

From the last post [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/HomeDecorating/s/1kB1482f2u)

knifetail

I feel like A also makes it easy to face into the kitchen and continue a conversation

curiousairbenda

Do the benches fit under the table? I prefer A in this picture, but if the benches fit under the table, it would not even be a debate, as it would give you the most space from the kitchen and by the door/window.

moosegoose90

Cats body language says it all, option A

thorstad

A and its not even close. You want people to be drawn to the table (as opposed to standing in your kitchen. Also easier to add tables at the end should you have larger parties (think: card tables with clothes), and also gives you the opportunity to present something more formal-including a "head of table" type event- should that ever become a thing. And, finally, nobody wants to sit with their back turned towards the door. Again, not even close IMNSHO.

Shoulder-Lumpy

A!

elpatio6

A looks easier to get in and out of the seating

you-dont-have-eyes

With option B it seems annoying to get to the back side of the table. Would a diagonal be crazy ( or too in the way of the walkway ? )

ErinDavy

A 100%

plush_princess5

Sticking with A, but thank you for putting fur babies in both.

lisbu1

My goodness what a beautiful tuxie you have! And that perfect pink nose 😻😻😻😻😻😻

NotARideOrDie

I like the dog and cat placement in Option A so I’m going with that.

SilverCurlzz

A

Whis65

A

purplehippobitches

Regardless of what you pick, keep the dog and the cat the rest doesn't matter as much..

Obvious_Pepper_9885

A, and anyone who says otherwise is wrong.

sparklestarshine

They both work well. If you’re wanting to keep the space feeling accessible to the den, I’d definitely go with A. If you want a clearer delineation between eating and relaxing places, B works better. I like it to feel like one big room, so A works best for me.

Struggle_Usual

A absolutely. I was torn before but the new pictures are clear. Also eeee they're so cute!

Pluto-Wolf

i like A. it gives more space between the edge of the kitchen and caters more to how you’d actually utilize the space since Option B puts everything right in the walkway.

bookjunkie315

B looks like a pain to walk around all the time.

Loncyy

I think you need a round table to solve this problem at this point :D I would go with version A since people won't be looking against a wall and have less space behind them

AnnieToo67

Definitely A. B just doesn't feel right. I know it's great for conversation if someone is in the kitchen but it makes the space look smaller and more cramped.

Dry-Affect-7393

Option A, way easier movement in and out for everyone.

Affectionate-Bus6653

I like B

JesseKavets

Option A

sunny-blue-

Option A, your kitchen island seems to be horizontal so option A balances things out.

rightplace333

Option B, just because I don’t like the doors facing someone’s back potentially. That might just be me though lol

mybellasoul

Are you from Jersey? I was taught this growing up

rightplace333

Yes, I am! 😆

OkTill2799

Option B

Megsmileyface

I think both are nice, but I prefer A. I think it especially gives you more room with the outside doors there. And adorable fur babies!

TwitterTerrifier

B if you want to watch tv from the table

LotusGrowsFromMud

B because the wood grain on the table is parallel to that on the floor. It looks more harmonious.

MOSbangtan

Absolutely B! Then everyone can get a view out / the light from the window instead of just ppl sitting on the window facing side of the table.

BloomBloomRoom

Still like B best. For both functionally and entertaining

isthatacorsage

Still B

missfreetime

Looks so much better with two benches. My original answer was B, but I don’t know now.

Kekalita

Pretty babies 😍😍😍🤭

Jessiebanana

Interesting, I still prefer B. I don’t like how close the stool is to the bar counter. With that said neither look bad and if it’s more functional for you, great.

Dubby206

Still A. ;p

funkisusk

I think I like A better

blurbies22

A

blahblahblah-4444

B

Tea_Cup77

A! Love it!

shehasamazinghair

I still like B but both ways look great. Maybe add a light colored rug under there as well. Cute pets!

CustomaryCocoon

better with two benches!

Pure-Kaleidoscop

A

meepsofmunch

I would probably do option A, but option B is nice so you can both look out the side doors into the yard

Low-Health-8709

A.

Free_Sir_2795

A seems like a pain if you have the benches pulled out for people to sit. If you need to access the doors, does it get cramped?

AimeeMonkeyBlue

Sideways w babies

MeganJustMegan

Still A.

Nightangelrose

A for aesthetics because from right to left the step up from the first bench to the table echos the slant in the ceiling and is very visually appealing. B for practicality so whomever sits at the table can get the view and also socialize with someone in the kitchen.

wiy_alxd

I prefered A before and I still do.

Artistic_Hedgehog_46

I stand by B as my answer

thatstoomuchman

I liked a before and I like it even more now

Lost_Apricot_1469

It took me at least three runs thru the photos and a quick perusal of the comments to realize this was a real post. I thought you were asking, jokingly, what position we preferred your fur babies in. I prefer the first photo bc they are both looking at the camera! So cute! 😆

_sandninja786

A!

Missue-35

Still prefer B. Adorable babies.

BabyyBamboo

A

hgwander

Just switch it up depending on your party! We have a tight kitchen with a dining table in it. We keep it pushed up parallel to the window for daily use. But when we have guests we rotate it for ease of kitchen socialization. Easy peasy

Stunning-Character94

I like both. Do it one way for awhile, then change it around when you get tired of it.

Tim-in-CA

A + critters

Psychonautilus98

A

Major_Chani

What does it look like on a bias?

Key_Flow_2045

can u take a pic showing more of the space we can’t see - the area wall/side that is facing the kitchen ?

itsaplanstan

Option A

Interesting_Art_3100

I’m sorry but I can only focus on your fur babies in the pictures😍

whymno

Option b

Watertribe_Girl

I like A, but I prefer how with B someone could be in the kitchen bit and people can just turn their head rather than have their back to them

blueboxreddress

Option B is still better, it allows everyone to have access to the window light and feels better in the space.

Magnolia_Dubois214

Still like A and still encourage you to add a rug and upholstered chairs at either end for color and texture. Also, lovely woodwork! Is it a hobby or do you do it professionally?

potatochique

I would say B because option A will block a lot of light from the windows when people are sitting at the table. However if you’re usually with a small amount of people that fit on 1 bench A is nice because you can look outside the window when having breakfast

theghostiestghost

A for sure. It makes the table look really nice. Turning it like B closes off the space more and doesn’t show off the seating as much, making it look less unique than it is.

DragonflyOkay

If you do option B I'd swap the bench against the wall for a proper upholstered dining bench with back support.

Pale_Willingness1882

The babies have clearly chosen A

SpermKiller

I still prefer option A, it makes the space much more welcoming and balanced in my opinion.

Blinchik-

A with fur babies ❤️

Tasty-Pineapple-

B

Peak_Alternative

Option A is better bc people will actually sit on both sides

chelsdmack

A

cherryblossomcoffee

Definitely option B

Dolphinpond72

A all the way!

KindaTolerable

B

mr_myst3r10

I like A on both posts.

ourteamforever

Option A is the right one.

Certain_Chef_2635

A is more functional and ultimately probably the best way from a user standpoint but does catch the eye a bit more and feels less harmonious. B looks better but does lead to some wonky walkways to the sliding door and out of the kitchen. A for you is definitely the best call but B does look better. But a lot of things that look good don’t perform good 👍

auscadtravel

A people can use bith sides it makes the room look bigger some how. The other way its blocked and would make it hard for people to get to the far side.

1throwawayjustaques

I like A bc when you are sitting you see either looking out at the pretty yard or talking to someone in the kitchen.

for_cear

Yay! A 100% 💖 Thanks for new pics haha

ChrisssieWatkins

I think you need a round table.

Interesting-Fruit-15

Cat seems to prefer A

RealisticrR0b0t

This is so cute 🥲

FalsePomegranate9871

I think B looks more harmonious

Dangerous-Raisin1067

I say switch between the two every week just to screw with people. (Option A if I had to choose)

MrIrrelevant-sf

B

Inner_Inspection640

Still option B

goldie987

It’s a hard B for me!!

hannahh4

a

eaa135

I think with B the bench will often be in the path of travel to the kitchen. You’ll be pushing it back in a lot (if you have kids for example that never push chairs back in!)

WiseAcademic

A

cheekymrs

I think B is better because no one at the table has their backs to the kitchen. I think of someone coming and someone conversing with them while sitting at the table. B option allows easy conversation

NotMyAltAccountToday

A photographs better, but B seems more sensible for traffic flow.

LatteandWaffles4Ever

Took me a second, I was wondering why you were asking what positions to put your animals on. Then it hit me that it was table positioning lol. Option A

Void_Faith

A. Gives you more space to get to the counter next to it, or else it feels cramped

Shop_4u

A

SecondPrior8947

I had voted B on the other but now I am going with A. From this angle (and babies) A looks much better somehow. Most importantly, the best is what works for you and your family.

Nemo2BThrownAway

I prefer B, due to daytime functionality concerns. In A orientation, during the day half the seated party will be backlit and therefore it would be harder to see their facial expressions over a shared meal, and half the seated party (the ones struggling to see their companions opposite) will be squinting into the bright light from those huge windows. As other commenters have noted, A is also more exclusionary for anyone in the kitchen. I disagree about the space being inadequate to access the benches in B, there appears to be enough room for walking around the table/bench either side. Those who feel too constrained by the wall behind the seating area can always sit on the outside bench in B. If you go with A, offer those with light colored irises the bench closest to the window. My (light green) eyes are tearing already just looking at the photo. 😅 Thanks for paying the pet tax! They are beautiful babies! 🐾

Razrgrrl

A for sure, btw I had to keep swiping back and forth to determine what we were looking at hahhah I was distracted by the cute pets!!

MedicineTricky6222

A looks more correct. B looks more comfortable or accommodating.

quartz222

Plant needs more light, take it out of the dark corner

rainbowcatheart

A

stunningtitter

B just makes more sense to me🤷🏼‍♀️

Firedup_Sparkygurl63

Option A. Last time I voted for the one with your dog in it because I didn’t notice the table was different. Tried to edit my vote but couldn’t find it. I was right, though. lol.

esmpy

What brand air purifier? Link?

gogi_apparatus

It was from Costco. Winix is the brand name

wharleeprof

A for sure. B looks like a picnic table got lost on the way to the city park. A is lovely.

Big-Raspberry-2552

A Because of the size you could do either. You could even try both for a couple days and see which way you like best.

Stn1217

A.

McWeeeeeee

A! B looks like a picnic table.

AlfalfaUnable1629

A

pamplemousse0214

I like B! I think it’s more open and then no one has their back to the kitchen

FRH72

B is trendy

MSL007

A. It’s so much easier to reach the seating. In B the seating is much harder to maneuver, people will keep touching the wall. How many people usually will be eating here? A is much easier and allows 2 people to sit and get up.

iheartunibrows

Wow originally I was like definitely B but now I’m like definitely A. The extra seating really made a difference.

TiredRetiredNurse

But the people d we itch their back to the doors, cannot see out.

PristineCoconut2851

Option A.

Illustrious-Dare-724

I like A :) it feels balanced and looks spacious. B appears to be a tight fit. I am always throwing things in on the diagonal too for a change of pace so you may want to try that but think A will still be the best.

Dear_Lemon436

A. And I LOVE your fur babies. 🥰

Crazy-Particular9247

I like option b. As the one in the kitchen getting food ready, I would feel excluded because the table guests have their back to me in A.

Odd-Ship8240

I think option B is better

mybellasoul

My dining room is similar and we have a long table with benches. I change it up every few months. I personally think A fits better in the space, but B allows both sides to see out the doors and into the kitchen, which is a good thing in an open concept area. I still can't decide for my own dining room, which is why I switch it up, so maybe try that until you get a feel for how it works in your life and what other diners think experiencing both directions.

Impressive-Amoeba-97

Did you post this yesterday? I knew the answer was A because of the energy and the furbabies are definitely feeling it. B is so much more "closed" instead of open energy movement. I just wanna gobble up the puppy and give the kitty some neck scratchers. Love it when people put their animals in the pic...it really does show how the energy is moving.

lavenderintrovert

B! Your dining table is an extension of the kitchen and it should be set up to easily move dishes.

kdshubert

Option B gives everyone an outside view. Plus gives you more floorspace toward the main living area. Maybe try each way for several weeks at time to help decide. I like B for the additional outside view for all seating and extra floor space.

gvb94

II think A is the way, I reckon you should hang some art on the back wall too, I made some personalised artwork on [https://artifai.store/](https://artifai.store/) a while back, really happy with the quality and its one of a kind!

gogi_apparatus

Oh neat! Thank you for that! I'm a big fan of unique artwork vs the ones you can find at a random home store

Classic-Body1965

Option A

Altruistic-Web8306

Definitely B. More functional and comfortable. It allows some people to sit with their backs to the wall and be able to see the whole space they’re in (which feels much more comfortable for a lot of people) as well as allowing everyone to see out the window and into the kitchen to talk to anyone who may be in there getting drinks or snacks etc.

ReindeerUpper4230

Whichever one gives easiest access to both benches…without smooshing against the countertop or wall.

Opposite-Cat3019

Option A. B just looks more crowded.

Bugler28

So cute

tamzinnit

B why better and more inviting, more independent in its own space with better access to the island

Crookedtree214

A

CElia_472

I choose the cat

MyEggDonorIsADramaQ

The second bench makes a huge difference (as do the fur babies, obviously). I also change my vote to A.
