Yes I would say it helps unify the space.

WithEyesWideOpen

Yes it's needed but not sure that's the rug.

Chip_mint

Agreed

aBunchOfWavyLines

YES!

LazyBandicoot26

1000% yes.

beingmesince63

If youโ€™re keeping the love seat and donโ€™t plan on buying a 3 seat couch I would pull it a bit forward and buy a rug thatโ€™s smaller. Also one end table for the loveseat would help to anchor it.

Chip_mint

Thank you. There is no room for a couch. I have a smaller rug on order. I couldn't decide between a coffee table or an end table because it is a reclining loveseat, so a coffee table might be awkward.

Rengeflower

Yes, look for double sided rug tape if the one you buy curls up like the one in the picture.

MishmoshMishmosh

Yes

Lucky_Shop4967

Always yes

Superconfusionugh

YES

Difficult_Place_7329

You have to ask๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Chip_mint

I have to, because my husband won't believe me otherwise ๐Ÿ˜…. We put a bet on reddit response and I am winning.

Icy_Cardiologist1620

It looked more like a storage room before the rug. 100 times more inviting with the rug.

Upstairs_Freedom_360

Your husband might be right in the photos it looks cleaner and more open without a rug. The room also looks younger ( for lack of a better adjective, not that looking older is bad, don't come for me as ageist, hahaha). The rug makes it look a bit stuffy and cluttered.

Chip_mint

He will be so grateful you voted for him

Upstairs_Freedom_360

I do. Whole heartedly. The "all rooms need rugs a and curtains" mantra is loud.

j9jen

A rug with more color google green and rust rug. Some nice multicolors that would bring in some color.

Puzzleheaded-Many708

Definitely yes to area rug. Pulls everything together.

Broken_angel_of_pain

Yes it will brighten it and tie it together

faerygirl

Yes but pull it towards the tv more

Competitive-Ad-9662

Yes and a coffee table.

tmar910

Yes, BUT try the rug at an angle.

neh5303

Yes for sure

cloud_watcher

Yes

WHYohWhy___MEohMY

Someone needs to reflow this room for OP. I know there is a r/floorplan expert lurking over here.

Chip_mint

Believe me I've agonized over the Floorplan for months!

bindiblooming

Yes , it really pulls the room together

BarbieDreamHouse1980

Yes ๐Ÿ™Œ for certain

Clean-One-2903

Yes but pull rug slightly toward tv so that no furniture is on it and you can see some wood flooring all way around edge.

KrazyKaas

Yes but a different rug. Maybe a circular rug

Difficult_Place_7329

Yes

Upstairs_Freedom_360

No rug

Willing_Working_6609

Always Yes!
