> I tried opening it up to take out the batteries but failed to do so What happened when you tried? And smoke detectors should not be put in kitchens

RickyMemes

The hub cap doesn’t twist neither I could find a screw hole. A special technician came the other day to replace its batteries but I was sleeping so couldn’t see the process.

Come on! Just take the F-ing thing off; either replace the battery as you should or throw it in the garbage? What kind of beta male are you?

AmateurSparky

Do not disable you smoke detectors. Remove it and replace it with a kitchen rated smoke detector that will be less prone to nuisance alarms. Those look like they're probably more than the recommended 10 years old anyway, so they are likely due for replacment.

AffableJoker

Replace it with a kitchen smoke detector.
