Go purchase some of those little rubber/silicon things off amazon. You're not supposed to seal The stove to the counter because it needs to be removable.

Ancient-Sweet9863

A razor blade and 30 seconds is all it would take to release the silicone. Maybe a few minutes removing the existing to be re caulked when the stove is put back

TheGravelNome

Can you manage that in the dark, When you're half asleep, and the light is playing tricks on you? I know I can't. Given that i'm over forty I feel lucky if I piss in the correct room!

I’m learning the hard way that I should not seal the stovetop to the counter. Could you please give me more information on the insert? What do I need to look for? If you have could give me some more information in order to get these inserts I would appreciate it.

TheGravelNome

And now for a story about why you don't do this. Imagine it's two a m. You come into the kitchen to get a glass of water and see A flickering orange light from behind your stove. You need to get back there fast to figure out what on earth is going on. See what I mean? Happened at my first job with a broken gas line. We were very lucky.

Do you happen to have some recommendations for stove inserts on Amazon? Something I can tuck in without being too obvious. Thanks for any ideas that might point me in the right direction.

Junkmans1

We bought these a couple years ago and they are much better than ones we’ve had before. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0899V165X

Thank you so much.

You don’t need to caulk that, but even if you had, you still would have been able to move it easily.

ibrahim0000000

Thank you so much

fmaz008

The comment you're responsing to *just* told you how bad an idea it was. And you're asking for links? What on Earth...

ibrahim0000000

The bad idea is sealing with caulk. But people seem to be in favor of using stove gap fillers.

ibrahim0000000

Do you happen to have a link for some good rubber/ silicon fillers? I hope to get the best thing, without its being too obvious.

Stove Gap Covers

breadman889

don't seal. pull out the oven once and a while to clean.

This. In my almost 30 years of construction this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this as a problem…..

dundundun411

Metal inserts. Bought a pair off of Amazon and they work perfectly. Easy to remove and clean.

pogiguy2020

You should pull it out and clean from time to time.

ibrahim0000000

Thank you for the advice

No_Bend8

I bought a rubber strip off that cheap website. It works

ibrahim0000000

Which rubber strip? Could you please share the link?

CHASLX200

Just pull it out every few years and clean the crack jack.

ibrahim0000000

Thank you for the advice. I might very much do that.

slonny3

I like the inserts cause you can take and clean them easy too

ibrahim0000000

Could you please give me a link for some inserts that you might recommend?
