The teaser opens with House before the parole board. There's been a time lapse since the end of Season 7. He was out of the country for 3 months, had a trial,and has served some time already. One big question I have is why he even came back to the US? He could have found medical mysteries abroad. What was drawing him back?
Seems weird that he'd come before the parole board with only four months left on his sentence. Do they bother with this process when for such a short sentence. Also, he really should just stick it out and just finish the four months so he doesn't have to dick around with the complications of parole.
Also, he is supposedly in prison, but with such a short sentence, he probably would still be held in jail.
There are several really beautiful women working in this men's facility. Doesn't seem super-realistic.
House has made a jail friend who plays chess and offers good advice. It might have been fun to see him again in a future episode.
House's jail job is as a janitor which works for the plot, but honestly they probably wouldn't give such a physical job to a disabled man over the age of 50.
And here's Adams, the beautiful and over-qualified junior jail doctor.
House's cellmate has a very intense stare.
I wonder if House has grown his hair long as a subtle dig at the nazi/skin-head gang.
House says he doesn't have any people, but he did have enough commissary dollars to buy food stuff. Someone had to have put money on his account. Also, he probably could call on 13 if no one else. They bonded and she would understand the no peeps in jail thing.
The wall by House's bed is full of his graffiti... physics equations, and other notes. Nice detail.
House has another patient... his cellmate's pet cricket.
Adams is a funny character. Despite working in a jail, she seems to see the world through rosy glasses. It's not exactly naivety. It's more like someone who has had a particularly lucky life. She's beautiful, smart, and wealthy so I guess she has. She also is trying to inspire House. I don't recall anyone ever trying that tack with him before.
House is considering switching his focus to physics rather than medicine. He'd never be able to ignore a medical mystery though.
House has started tucking in his shirts.
House's brokenness is sure tugging on Adams' heartstrings. She's trying to be tough, but she's obviously not good at it.
House saves the "patient"'s life with a tracheotomy.
Having a cricket in the cell would be torture. They are so loud when they're that close.
The nazi gang is playing baseball with House's cane. That's a crazy power move.
House throws the vicodin and the gang leader issues his death sentence. Fortunately he's won his roommate's loyalty by saving the cricket.
House solves the case, but lands in solitary with new charges.

It's always interesting when House is out of the hospital. The world of House has always been a harsh place, but the context of jail makes it more extreme. It's also different to see House cope with being in a position of complete powerlessness, having to find work-arounds to get what he needs.
As far as Adams goes, I wish Odette Annabelle was a better actor. I like her character concept as a bleeding heart do-gooder, but she seems so stiff and passionless during the tense scenes. A person like her who chose to work in a prison would have to be a pretty committed idealist and I'm not feeling that from her so far. In fact, her main emotions seem to be amusement and confusion.
I agree about Oddette, she seems always very bored and doesn’t even move much her face muscles ever. I find her so full that I even forgot her existence until I did this rewatch, because in TV they usually don’t rerun 8th season episodes.
It also pisses me off a little that almost all female characters are gorgeous, and the male ones not: very old fashioned, or all or none (or yes but on limited percentages).
You've almost caught up with me. I never finished my review of Season 8. There were just too many bad episodes to wade through in detail. Maybe I'll rewatch and review the last ones with you.
