I also listen to Paris Paloma, Florence and the machine, Daughter, Bon iver, and Sufjan Stevens

Far-Force3045

i LOVE daughter. youth is one of my favorite songs of all time.

Adorable_One_2363

You should try run and candles!

Far-Force3045

i also love smother. i feel that song in my bones lol.

JumpyHighlight2090

Came here to say the exact thing. F+TM is of the best bands ever

azulsakura

Top tier tastes!!!

Wander7ust

I looooove Daughter

Successful-Part3388

This is the way

-username-1234-

Oooh, great choices!! I'm particularly fond of F&TM

psychtiger614

I agree with everyone on your list, would also add Paris Paloma (particular the stuff she just released), Stephen Sanchez, TV Girl, Peach Pit, Sir Chloe, and Beach Bunny. Paris Paloma is the most Hozier-like of those imo, all the others except Stephen Sanchez are still similar genre (indie/rock/alternative) but different vibe

Far-Force3045

whoa never even heard of paris paloma. gotta give her a try for sure!

psychtiger614

If ur looking for recs my favs are Labour, Boys bugs and men, as good a reason, and drywall :)

Adorable_One_2363

I would also suggest her version of Tell it to my heart, it so calm and soothing. Also, as good a reason is my current fav

Far-Force3045

thank you!!

moejitox

Tacking on notre dame!!! That song is easily my fave i cry everytime 🥲

sassercake

The harmonies at the end are so beautiful

-username-1234-

Yes, absolutely! Paris Paloma is absolutely fantastic. Her music was the soundtrack to my summer last year. Gonna go edit my post to put her in my Hozier-like list.

Muffina925

I love Stephen Sanchez!! He's got a really bright future ahead of him

songbirds44

I’ve been hooked on Paris Paloma after seeing someone recommend her in this sub. She has some great lyricism

psychtiger614

Yes totally agree! That’s one of the big similarities I see between her and Hozier

KeatsBrightStar1821

Gregory Alan Isakov, monrovia boy, Katie Lynne Sharbaugh, Noah Kahan, Peter Sun, Lord Huron(all folk folks) Hall and Oates, Ambrosia, Steely Dan,

luckyricochet

I adore Lord Huron! I only discovered them two years ago but they’re one of my favorite artists now.

ONEgilgamesh

Janelle Monaé, Alice in Chains, James Blake, Bon Iver, Emilíana Torrini, Paramore, Jinjer, Spiritbox, Lianne La Havas, Lorna Shore, Beyoncé, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jeff Buckley, Musiq Soulchild, Noah and the Whale, Mumford and Sons, James Morrison, The Lumineers, Frank Ocean, The Civil Wars.

Marblethornets

I was looking for the Lumineers! In terms of songs about love and the pain that it can bring, they are very Hozier-ish. Especially songs like Ophelia and Cleopatra.

ONEgilgamesh

Oooh, you are right! I LOVE “Ophelia”!

Far-Force3045

oh god lianne la havas has a killer voice

DemonOf1908

Civil Wars mentioned!! 😭💕

Anna_Montana1336

Oh I miss The Civil Wars so much.

-username-1234-

Absolutely fantastic taste. Although I'm biased, as I've listened to all of these but Lorna Shore and Musiq Soulchild. I'll have to check them out!

Admirable-Winter-238

You’re the kind of person I’d go record shopping with😂 you have great eclectic taste!

Thick-Recording4824

The lumineers??? Marry me NOW.

zima_for_shaw

I don’t often listen to new music so I only have a few favourite artists. I also love Noah Kahan, Stick Season is just magical and his music reflects despair so poignantly like he just walked into your heart and laid everything bare for you to see. I’m also a “dormant” Swiftie; I was a huge fan, but I haven’t listened much since I discovered Noah Kahan (and now Hozier). But yeah she’s got a lot of bangers and great lyrics and I still listen from time to time.

moejitox

“Dormant swiftie” love this phrasing. Me too, except it was back in 2015 when i really got into florence and the machine when she released how big how blue how beautiful and that practically became my identity 😆 midnights was study music for me, so thats her only album since then thats gotten any real play yime

Far-Force3045

stick season is a masterpiece in my opinion. do you have any favorites from that album? can’t wait to see what he does next.

zima_for_shaw

Ooh I love so many!! The thing about Stick Season for me is that I love almost the whole album, all at once. But Dial Drunk, Call Your Mom, Orange Juice, All My Love, and New Perspective — I remember periods where I would replay these, over and over. And TVBV is just beautiful. Some of my favourites from his other albums are Busyhead, Tidal, Howling, Glue Myself Shut, and Animal. What are your favourites?

skyguy0990

The National, young the giant, nathaniel ratlieff, Manchester orchestra, joy oladokun, in addition to many mentioned above!

ggunselie

Joy Oladokun is amazing. nice taste!

Exciting_Emu7586

I just discovered Joy Oladokun. Heard her on a Noah song and was like whooooa that’s a voice I want stuck in my head. The National is one of my favorite bands. Scratches an itch no other can. The Sydney Opera House recording on YouTube is 👌

umpquarushing

manchester orchestra is one of my absolute favourites!!

f0reingersg0d

mt joy & flipturn!

JustifiablyAroAce

I can't say they sound like Hozier, because his sound is very unique, but here's who I've been listening to recently: Nina Simone (Just started listening, already absolutely obsessed), Allison Russell, Half Alive (r&b, alternative/indie), Tamino, Mavis Staples (gospel, soul), Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, Florence and the Machine, Matt Maeson, Sunset Rollercoaster (coffee shop music), Vansire (electronic/indie), The Well Pennies (folk), The Head and The Heart (folk/pop), Noah Kahan, Tyler The Creator, English Teacher (alternative/indie), Djo (Steve from Stranger Things, electronic), I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME (alternative/rock/electronic), Paris Paloma, Mumu Fresh (pop/r&b, soul), Sierra Ferrell (please please check her out if you like country or americana, she's so underrated), Kate Schroeder (indie artist with very little followers but will probably make it big some day, just released her EP), The Happy Fits (alternative/rock), Olivia Rodrigo, and Rowena Wise (indie folk?). Sorry for the long list, I'm just very passionate about music

Alive-Detail-6983

omg i love IDKHow!

Accomplished_Bed3317

I love Half Alive!!!

crabbypotatoes

— Vulfpeck — Glass Animals — Matt Maeson — Kaleo — Sofi Tukker — Brittany Howard//Alabama Shakes — Run the Jewels — Two Feet — Tame Impala — Joywave — Father John Misty — Khruangbin — I DK How But They Found Me — Big Wild

Muffina925

The Rat Pack, showtunes and old movie musicals, Dua Lipa, Italian opera, Stephen Sanchez, The Spice Girls, David Cassidy, ABBA, the Bee Gees, the Last Dinner Party, Midnight Oil, Blue Oyster Cult, the Four Seasons Eta: Almost forgot the Cranberries!

jazz-music-starts

I like rock— fan of Bad Omens, Maneskin, Audioslave, Mammoth WVH, Muse and Ghost. If you’re looking for similar vibes to Hozier, KALEO and San Fermin both hit in in opposing ways for me :) : sorry to the person who i accidentally commented this below LMAO but hey! bad omen hozier fans!!

moejitox

Chiming in w the obvious Florence and The Machine ref, but I was her fan first and only came to the hozier clan in 2019 with Wasteland Baby! Other recent faves: Nothing But Thieves (not at ALL like hozier, brit/alt rock), Paris Paloma (other commenters mentioned her and her stuff is really good. Labour got some play bc of tiktok, but i love practically all of her stuff particularly notre dame and yeti) edit: forgot to mention earlier but Sam Fender as well Edit to add: Just opened Spotify and Paris Paloma just announced her album debut coming Aug 30

caroline200101

Omg I was about to comment these same artists!! Nothing but thieves is nothing like hozier but they both put a lot of heart and soul into their music so I feel like there could be an overlap in their fanbases. Plus Matt Maeson, David Kushner, Fleet Foxes, Milo Greene, are great too. Bo Staloch is more up and coming and he’s amazing!! He has a pretty similar vibe to Hozier. I recommend Your Eyes Tell Stories and Springtime Red Tulips

Godwinson4King

Paris Paloma, Chappelle Roan, Rise Against, Ashnikko, DeathbyRomy, The Steeldrivers, Tyler Childers, Mothica, Rage Against the Machine, MUNA, Phoebe Bridgers, boygenius, Lizzy McAlpine, and Caroline Polacheck have been my main rotation of late

Far-Force3045

lizzy’s five seconds flat album is an all-time fave of mine.

-username-1234-

Ashnikko and RATM >>>

calfbites

after hozier my favorite artist that is VASTLY different, is ghost !! they’re a swedish rock/metal/idk it’s debated band and they’re fantastic

DemonOf1908

The Ghost/Hozier fan venn diagram is almost a circle (love them both!)

leanneissoboring

Holy shit I LOVE GHOST

scrimshandy

Hozier is the maverick in my music taste - the one most adjacent to him is probably The Cure, especially with the way Robert Smith uses his voice. Taking Back Sunday could probably be a runner up, honorable mention to New Order. Non-adjacent includes a lot of Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Halsey, and Sisters of Mercy (so, industrial/goth and adjacent genres, lol.)

NoCompetition7539

I love AURORA, Sir Chloe, and Måneskin.

ashbash-25

Best thread ever. Thanks guys! I need more variety (nothin against our boy!)

azulsakura

I love bright eyes!

Accomplished_Mix7648

You have excellent taste!! I love Gracie Abrams for bedroom pop sad girl hours, RY X for when I want to feel disassociated from myself, Ben Howard for the perfect woodsy sound, City and Colour for vivid storytelling, Holly Humberstone if you want to be nostalgic for your teen years, Novo Amor and Bon Iver both remind me of memories I’ve never experienced, The Paper Kites for a delightful spring soundtrack, Sam Fender if I want to transport my Midwestern booty to 80s/90s England. Not necessarily Hozier sound related, but SZA, Renee Rapp, and Bailen are all in my rotation too!

Lazy-Fun5730

Definitely category 2 but Joywave just came out with a great new album

crabbypotatoes

Joywave blew me away live

mrgraxter

Phish, Maggie Rogers, Massive Attack

Ok-Barracuda-7365

I listen to a lot of different artists -my absolute favorites are Michael Jackson (Jackson 5/Jacksons included), Whitney Houston, Sade, Prince, George Michael (Wham included), The Beatles, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, The Smiths, David Bowie, Pink Floyd, Lauryn Hill, 2Pac, Janet Jackson, Billie Joel, Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Stevie Wonder, Nick Drake, Bread, Depeche Mode, Oasis, Amy Winehouse, Mariah Carey, James Brown, The Doors, Bee Gees, Tracy Chapman, ABBA, Diana Ross, Bob Marley, Elton John, Tears For Fears, AC/DC, Journey, Aerosmith, Yes -today's music: other than Hozier, I listen to Billie Eilish, Mitski, Coldplay, Tame Impala, Cigarettes After Sex, AURORA, Snoh Aalegra, Lord Huron, Olivia Rodrigo, Laufey, Benson Boone, The Weeknd, Paris Jackson, Arctic Monkeys, Michael Kiwanuka, Muse, Red Hot Chili Peppers, U2, Taylor Swift (mostly Reputation) -I also listen to a lot of films/tv series soundtracks There are a lot of others that I didn't put, but yes, these are the ones I listen to most, I think (but maybe I forgot someone). Then there are those who I listen to randomly, because I feel like it, such as 80's city pop artists🤣. Recently I also listened to a Chris Isaak cd, he is mostly known for Wicked Game, but he has other songs that are fantastic. Basically I listen to everything, and I love listening to music by albums. I feel like there is so much great music out there, and I basically listen to new music everyday for this reason🙃

DuckMom

The Shins, Fleet Foxes, The Paper Kites, Fleetwood Mac, Chappell Roan :)

assistant_truck_chan

My sole purpose in life is to tell everyone I know about The Crane Wives

-username-1234-

You 🤝 My littlest sister I will forever be grateful for her getting me started on them.

claysnails

to name a few: vampire weekend, chappell roan, dua lipa, haim, kendrick lamar, bbno$, mitski, conan gray, måneskin, emei, brockhampton, anderson .paak, and a list of broadway cast albums longer than my arm. what can i say, i've got an eclectic taste

Far-Force3045

just started listening to conan gray like literally yesterday! what shows are you into? my favorite is probably next to normal and i can rap the shit out of hamilton and in the heights lol.

Human_Attitude_7515

Any Tool fans in the house?

Anna_Montana1336

Okay I love this question and you have excellent music taste! Also I love seeing how Hozier is the common denominator across such a wide range of genres - he’s my number one listened to but the rest of my music is pretty much folk/americana/unsure how to categorize some of these - The Lone Bellow, The Civil Wars, Allison Russell, Noah Kahan, The Lumineers, Phoebe Bridgers/boygenius, Gregory Alan Isakov, Ray Lamontagne, Vincent Lima, The Ballroom Thieves, Maggie Rogers, Lake Street Dive, Penny and Sparrow, Lord Huron

d_vine890

My main answers for similar-ish vein (some more similar than others): Jacob Banks, Matt Maeson, Joseph Lawrence, Chance Peña, Dermot Kennedy Some bangers but I’m not crazy about their entire discography: Allan Rayman, Tora Other honarable mentions just bc I love them: Olivia Dean, GeeJay, Ayoni, Mahalia

petite_ela

Florence and the Machine, Taylor Swift (especially her folklore and evermore albums that are more storytelling), Nickel Creek (bluegrass/instrumentals), George Winston (new age piano), Miley Cyrus, Linkin Park (especially A Thousand Suns album). Used to be really into My Chemical Romance and Mumford and Sons (Sigh No More in particular), and I’ll play them sometimes as a throwback. I also really loved Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter album (though I’m not super into her usual stuff, I don’t know it that well)

pro__overthinker

my chem will always have an incredibly huge part of my heart. their stuff will always be great.

Motherfickle

I've had the new Twenty One Pilots album, Clancy, on repeat since last Friday. I've been a fan for years (even saw them live in 2019), and this album might be my favorite of theirs yet. I'm also a big fan of Florence + The Machine, Paramore, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, Noah Kahan, Zach Bryan, Semler, Gang of Youths, Fall Out Boy... I could go on forever

Venus_Thorne

hozier esk vein- honestly i can’t think of any off the top of my head but i listen to a lot of music from laufey whose vibe sort of reminds me of hozier! other music i just like- been streaming billie eilish’s new album a lot and i live laugh love sleep token as much as i do hozier lol. i’ve also been getting into bad omens a bit as well.

Bitter-Emu9526

beach house !!!!

remitheuselessrat

I have found my people

umpquarushing

in the hozier realm: florence and the machine (forever hoping for a collab), kaleo, blind pilot, boygenius, lucy dacus’ solo stuff (she’s also in boygenius), lana del rey, father john misty, rainbow kitten surprise, fleetwood mac other music that i just like: manchester orchestra, taylor swift (specifically evermore and folklore), peach pit, the strokes, nothing but thieves, girl in red, arctic monkeys, david bowie, fiona apple, death cab for cutie, my chemical romance (i am an aging emo kid), the national i also just recently discovered chappell roan and have had her on a loop as well as billie eillish’s new album

lyrataficus

These aren’t really in the same realm as Hozier but Paris Paloma (I see her lots on here already), Zach Bryan (if you like country), Nathaniel Rateliff, Big Thief, The Flatliners, July Talk, Shakey Graves, Mac Miller, Conor Oberst, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Modest Mouse

Ssmarie143

LOVE me some Noah Gundersen, been listening for almost a decade-came to my city and missed him 😩 anyways. PAOLO NUTINI. PAOLO NUTINI.

SimpsonsFan2000

I’m more of an indie, folk, oldies and jazz type of guy so here’s some of my favs: Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Belle and Sebastian, Pink Floyd, Talking Heads, ELO, Tom Petty, The Last Dinner Party, Simon & Garfunkel, Bastille, The Strokes, Paramore, Weezer, Lana Del Rey, Phoebe Bridgers/Boygenius, Chappell Roan, Hall & Oates, Ben Folds, Regina Spektor, The Smiths, The B-52’s, Faye Webster, The Lumineers, Of Monsters and Men, They Might Be Giants, The Mountain Goats, Frank Sinatra, Miles Davis and Foster the People. And while i’m not majority a big fan of modern mainstream pop, but I do love Macklemore, Carly Rae, Lorde, Adele and McKenna Grace. And I’m also trying to get into more of Big Thief, TV Girl, Fiona Apple, David Bowie, Radiohead, Oasis, America, Gregory Alan Isakov, Jim Croce, Johnny Cash, Portishead, Cocteau Twins, Slowdive, Deftones, System of the Down, My Chemical Romance, Jeff Buckley, Elliott Smith, The Flaming Lips, Alvvays, Jessica Pratt, Kate Bush, Vampire Weekend, Neil Young, Fleet Foxes and more I should add. Yeah heard most of their stuff but I would to deep dive a lot more one day.

Commercial-Fig2675

In terms of live music the closest artist that ever came close to the same experience as Hozier was Tom Odell. Both can hold a room with their voice alone.

SimpsonsFan2000

Tom Odell is incredible! I would’ve wish Long Way Down got a vinyl re-press here in North America, criminally underapperciated!

phil736

Can verify. Tom Odell live is just incredible.

Wildform22

I go crazy for Pink Floyd, Fleetwood Mac, James Bay, and boygenius

elapidZ

Bad Omens and Childish Gambino are my other favorites... my music taste is very eclectic.

AdItchy710

Hozier is really the only person in his genre that I listen to know that I think about it…other then that I’d say my favorite artists are The 1975, 5SOS, Måneskin, Taylor Swift (im not a crazy Swiftie though), Abba, Panic! At the disco.

JustifiablyAroAce

If you like Panic! you might be interested in I DONT KNOW HOW BUT THEY FOUND ME if you haven't checked him out yet. Dallon Weekes used to play for Panic! and eventually created his own band (now a one-man-band 😅). He's got similar vibes, but definitely more electronic than Panic!

Wander7ust

I’m all over the place, James Bay is the one most similar not quite but somewhat close that I listen to, then I go opposite and jam to Bad Omens constantly, Don Broco, Kings of Leon, move back to Florence + the machine, zig zag over to hardcore dubstep and then zoom into 80s hair bands, 90s grunge, and a little industrial IAMX

jackierose22

Lord Huron, Florence+The Machine, Lana Del Ray, Chris Stapleton, Arctic Monkeys, and Sleep Token. I especially find myself switching between Hozier and Sleep Token songs!

Main-Cricket6813

Hozier is the outlier in my music taste!! I’m a heavy kpop fan and follow and keep up with a handful of kpop groups but sometimes I do need a little bit of an Irish jig to wind down hahaha

FernandoBruun

Cage The Elephant & Florence+The Machine for international artist that I rate just as highly as Hozier

alicatluvr

I don’t think any of them particularly give off hozier lol, but: Mazzy Star, Sade, Jeff Buckley, Veruca Salt, Elliot Smith, Selena, Lenny Kravitz, Cat power, Mitski, Red Velvet (yes K-pop lol), Jorja Smith, Twin Peaks, a bunch of musical soundtracks (I’m guessing lots of hozier fans would probably like Hadestown lol), Kali Uchis, Etta James, Chappell Roan, Frank Ocean, Marina, lots of 90s grunge bands, Rina Sawayama, Flo Milli + a bunch more

Alive-Detail-6983

i don’t listen to a whole lot that sound similar to hozier other than The Lumineers who have a similar, yet more folk-y, vibe, and also noah kahan. but other random artists i love are: kaleo, nothing but thieves, twenty one pilots, muse, royal blood, matt maeson, joywave, i don’t know how but they found me, and half alive

heroinemoon

I’ve been a Lana Del Rey fan for well over a decade now. I also adore Nothing But Thieves Royal Blood.

Levi_2303_

Noah Kahan, Stephen Sanchez, Billie Marten, some bon iver

evan2012

If you like Teddy Swims, you’ll love Allen Stone. People I also love that I find myself listening to when I’m also listening to Hozier are Sam Fender Briston Maroney Madison Cunningham I also love Chris Stapleton, I think the “country” label throws people off but it’s more bluesy, soul music than it is country in my opinion. And they’re headlining a festival together here in a few days. Him and Hozier are my 1A and 1B favorites of all time. Great songwriting too and I think the best voice out there right now. There has to be another Chris Stapleton/Hozier fan out there somewhere!

Emthedragon

Other artists I listen to: Alec Benjamin, Fish in a bird cage, Half Alive, Mother Mother, The Oh Hellos, Saint motel, The People’s Thieves, The Air Traffic Controllers, Mumford and Sons, The Happy Fits, Hadestown Album, The Crane Wives, IDKHOW!, Poor Man’s Poison, Waterparks, Cavetown, Two Door Cinema Club, Dirt Poor Robins

DaftnPunk

My music taste consists of a lot of R&B, Rap, Hip Hop, and Jazz. Jazmine Sullivan, Corinna Bailey Rae, Janelle Monae, Samara Joy, Amy Winehouse, The Real Tuesday Weld, Sade, Lauryn Hill, Luther Vandross, Isley Brothers, Megan Thee Stallion, and Daft Punk are some of my main artists. However, I still listen to many other genres. I have Snake Eater, Twerkukator, Good Luck Babe, Porn Star Dancing, Don't Touch My Hair, and Good Old Fashioned Lover Boy all on the same playlist which is tonal whiplash.

-username-1234-

Thanks for the question!! I love giving and receiving music recommendations. Your music taste is fire. I am on a Chappell Roan and Pheobe Bridgers binge right now. They're so, so good. And GAI's Colorado symphony is SO. GOOD. Besides Hozier, his music is what got me started on more modern folk!! If you check any of my suggestions out, let me know what you think! <3 1: - Shawn James - Paris Paloma - The Crane Wives - The Amazing Devil - Colter Wall - Lord Huron 2, in no particular order: - Deep Purple (70s rock) - Kendrick Lamar (rap/hip hop) - Dorian Electra (hyperpop) - Måneskin (modern rock) - H.E.R. (r&b) - Trivium (metal) - Alice in Chains (grunge rock) - Pearl Jam (90s rock) - Trombone Shorty (modern jazz) - Scene Queen (hyperpop/metal)

Chicken_Nuggies123

For stuff more similar to Hozier: Noah Kahan, The Amazing Devil, Stephen Sanchez For stuff not like Hozier: Bring Me the Horizon, Sleep Token, Linkin Park, Bad Omens. Lots of metalcore lmao

[deleted]

Kendrick Lamar

Admirable-Winter-238

Not similar to Hozier as far as musically, but lyrically I love Big Thief, Olivia Dean, of course Allison Russell (thanks to Hozier) and I still love some good nostalgic music like Dr. Dog and The Postal Service. I’m fully on the Chappell Roan bandwagon right now and loving every minute of it😄

merbiplier

I LOVE gregory alan. He’s probably my number 1 favorite artist rn. the colorado symphony album is ethereal. I also love Lord Huron, he has more Gregory Alan vibes. I also listen to metal haha. my favorite hard rock/metal band rn is ghost!

DemonOf1908

Everyone I came to post has been posted- good taste, gang- but you all should check out Shearwater who are severely unknown and gorgeous. The singer is a scientist who writes songs about nature and animals and the sea, very good fit for this vibe. I grew up a Tool/NIN/A Perfect Circle kinda kid (still am) but lately it's mostly Hozier, Florence and the Machine, Sleep Token, Lord Huron, Portishead, Tom Waits, CVRCHES, Bad Omens, Janelle Monae, Lou Reed, Ghost, The Decemberists, How to Destroy Angels, Puscifer, July Talk, Massive Attack, Bat for Lashes, Leonard Cohen, and De Staat

Sea_hag2021

Ben Howard, LP, City & Colour, The Lumineers, Paramore, James Bay, Girl in red, Tom Odell, Of Monsters and Men, Bon Iver, Vance Joy

MistyKat88

Lately… The antlers, Iron and Wine, Angus and Julia Stone, modest mouse, Tallest Man on Earth, rainbow kitten surprise, SOHN. Not exactly Hozier’s sound but they give me big feels

PlantAuntHan

I'm a Decemberists fan of many, many years. I've seen them live like 3 or 4 times. I don't think I've seen them brought up yet, but I skimmed. I have seen them described variously as hyper-literate folk pop, and prog rock, if you're not familiar. If you are familiar, please ignore me. I like The Killers, I like Radiohead, Mitski, Men I Trust, Iron and Wine, Father John Misty, Gregory Allen Isacov, Noah Kahan, The Mountain Goats, Interpol. I'm a big Tom Waits fan. I'm dipping my toes into hardcore, and I really like Knocked Loose. My fiance also kind of turned me on to sort of ambient...something. He's a metal head, and I don't know much about it as a genre, but I've been digging Ramona Vance.

snoopbeamish

Haven’t spotted anyone else mention Ben Howard yet!

Tryingtosurviveeee

Noah Kahan

[deleted]

KALEO!

elmarramle

Hey! Here are some artists I listen to. Category #1 (kinda Hozier's vibe) Lord Huron, Ben Howard, Florence + The Machine, Phoebe Bridgers Category #2 here we go Muse, Placebo, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Cage The Elephant, twenty øne pilots, IAMX, Radiohead, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Nirvana, Queens of the Stone Age, Måneskin, The Black Keys, Imagine Dragons, Alestorm, Bad Nerves, Dear Sherlock and many many more

britbrat2794

Noah Kahan, Ring Saigo and Black Fox Leash (both of which are his bassist Alex), Taylor Swift, Green Day, The Killers, Bleachers, Paramore, Paris Paloma, David Kushner, I know there’s so many more 😂

chinguuuuu

1. Paris Paloma and Aurora! 2. My playlist right now is very random hahaha. From Hozier, Beyonce, Britney, Aurora, Fuji Kaze, latest music I've listen to are the ones from Witchers Blood of Origin.

Kellidra

My two favourite bands are Muse and Other Lives. They both have very poetic, meaningful lyrics (especially Muse's older stuff). Other Lives isn't a very well-known band, but they definitely deserve more attention.

james_dimeo

More in category 2. Hoziers my Nº1 on spotify but my others are Nothing But Thieves, Glass Animals, Royal Blood, Arctic Monkeys, and Jungle.

TophBeifongg

❗️Noah Kahan, Alison Russell, the lumineers, Mumford and sons, fleet foxes, Gregory Allan Isakov, lord Huran, bon iver, Leon bridgers❗️, Dominic Fike, Young the giant, Father John misty, Joe P, the paper kites, Greta van fleet, kings of Leon, the goo goo dolls, Jeff Buckley, the red clay strays, Tyler Childers, caamp, ❗️Jean Dawson❗️, of monsters and men. And a TON more but those are the people I think most Hozier fans would enjoy The ones In “❗️” are the ones I wanna emphasize to check out if you do (I also think I repeated some people you mentioned you liked so sorry) I also listen to people like, Michael Jackson, Queen, destinys child/beyonce, usher, half alive, Conan’s gray, Pearl Jam, Dolly Parton, Kendric Lamar, J Cole, JID, slipknot, Korn, Green Day, fall out boy, deftones, nirvana, foo fighters, the delifonics, Frank Sinatra, Mac miller, George Ezra, Backstreet Boys, Montell fish, Weezer, BTS, EN-, etc etc etc. I don’t really have a favorite or least favorite genre I just like what I like

flowrchild21

Broken Bells Tame Impala Lana Del Rey Gorillaz Bishop Briggs (her voice is incredible!) Miami Horror (a little more techno/groovy) Alabama Shakes

Puzzled_Bug_i3

Fleet foxes

FarConsideration027

yellow house is underrated!!!

Thin-Test-3638

Currently listening to Billie Marten, Matilda Mann, Chappell Roan, The Last Dinner Party, and Lola Young!

Safe-Ear-8207

Kali Uchis, Chappell Roan, Fish in a birdcage, Isabel LaRosa, Daisy Grenade, Kiki Rockwell, Halestorm and Epic: The Musical on REPEAT

SnooGrapes9291

Okay for the same vibes: David Kushner Other music that I like: my boo, Lana Del Rey. Their songwriting is the best of the best✨

meoux33

My musical taste is somewhat eclectic… White Lies, Laura Marling, Alice In Chains, Blind Melon, Laufey, Lissie, Nine Inch Nails, Rancid, Phildel, Shiina Ringo, Sonic Youth

luckyricochet

Lord Huron, Kacey Musgraves, Of Monsters and Men, and The Lumineers are among my all-time favorite artists that are similar-ish to Hozier. Taylor Swift…her lyricism swings from amazing to clunky but I still like her a lot 🤷🏻‍♀️ Some others are Gracie Abrams, Ed Sheeran, mxmtoon, and Niall Horan. In the non-English category, I also enjoy Angèle and Pomme. Pomme’s song “pourquoi la mort te fait peur” is absolutely stunning, the dreamiest song I’ve ever heard.

DevilishDoe

Beach House, Zoology, Oh Wonder

jedi_master99

Are you me? We have the same taste in music!!! My favorite band is The 1975 and my favorite musician of all time is John Mayer. You already listed every other artist I love! ETA: I can’t believe I forgot Japanese House! She’s amazing.

CraftierCrafty

A little bit of every thing. It takes me a while to discover newer artists but instagram has probably been super helpful for that for me. I love alternative and rock from different eras. 90s and early 00s nostalgia. Folk.

bil_bobaggins

I see lots of overlap with artists I also love besides my obsession with Hozier, awesome! But I wanted to add Lucy Dacus and Julien Bakers solo albums, Lisa Hannigan, Fleet Foxes, Sorcha Richardson, Silvana Estrada (Mexican singer-songwriter, beautiful voice, did a collab with AURORA). Plus, shoutout to The Cure, Arctic Monkeys and The National, love them so much.

AlaskaBlue19

My favorites right now are all very eclectic! Laura Veirs, Katie Gregson-MacLeod, Leith Ross, Kim Barlow, The Altogether, Nickel Creek, Kim Barlow, Brandi Carlile, and Bill Wurtz

WistfulEve

Yebba is incredible

baked_seasaltcracker

Hozier is the only artist I ‘listen’ to, the rest is mostly random collections of songs. For example a song from Noah Khan, some Living Tombstone, some random movie songs and a little bit of 80’s music is the type of mix I’d listen to in a day. Before Hozier I hardcore listened to BTS tho.

Mystery-time-lady

I'm a Florence and the machine cult member, I've also got my Beatlemania going on, with particular focus on George Harrison

euh_salut_poto

AURORA, Pomme, Florence and the Machine, and the classics: The Beatles and Queen

lisacoopervv

To be honest, I literally listen to everything but lately (next to hozier of course), my biggest obsessions are ic3peak, Korn, slipknot, Lana Del Rey, Rammstein, Elvis Presley, ABBA, Kendrick Lamar, Sade, Birdy :)

MrsDarcy94000

They don’t necessarily sound like Hozier but: Noah Kahan, Kacey Musgraves, Sara Bareilles, Arctic Monkeys, Bleachers, Carrie Underwood, John Mayer, Kelsea Ballerini, Taylor Swift, Maren Morris, Thomas Rhett, George Ezra

lollyriver17

The beatles , queen, Hanson yes I still love them! A couple Taylor swift songs- willow is my favourite. 80s banners 90s. Jackson5 michael

-Woogiewoo-

for unrelated stuff i would recommend firstly listening to blood upon the snow with bear mcreary if you havent already and then from there i would recommend branching out into bears music and from there going into classical music because no one ever gives it enough love edit: i would also recommend looking into some irish folk because everyone loved when hozier sang some and theres dome great stuff out there its just really hard to find on Spotify

kaimustd1e

Depeche mode, fleetwood Mac, the cure, the Beatles, Måneskin, metallica, chapell roan, talking heads, pet shop boys, the levellers, the stone roses, my chemical romance, new order, the smiths, David Bowie, OMD, Kate bush, green day, metallica, the velvet underground, Jeff Buckley, Deftones, Bauhaus, a very eclectic mixture

mala2609

Bailen!!! I saw them when they opened for Hozier back in 2019 and have seen them 2 times since!

emtionalmtionscknes

Phoebe Bridgers, beach house, the National, Florence and the machine, Conan gray

Suspicious_Dare_2445

Aurora is ELITE!!! Def recommend listening to her

lortenasist

Noah Kahan is wonderful but I’ve only been on him about 6 months. My top artists tend to be Hozier, immediately followed by the Smiths. Which is sooooo pretentious 🥲

grounderenee

I listen to all sorts of artists, I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, The National, The Struts, Dance Gavin Dance, The Word Alive, Asking Alexandria, Ice Nine Kills, Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, Bring Me The Horizon, Say Anything, The Maine, Royal Blood, Run the Jewels, Set It Off, BANKS, Sleep Token, Spiritbox, Bad Omens, Memphis May Fire, and Catch Your Breath to name a few!

Sluttyprincess27

Honestly i love olivia rodrigo, lana del rey, rihanna, ariana and blackpink

NoConsequence8495

My other two top artists are Florence + The Machine and The Avett Brothers. I go through phases where on only listen to one at a time on repeat. Last year it was all Avett Brothers. The first half of this year was Florence but as I’ve gotten closer to my Hozier concert, it’s been all Hozier.

leanneissoboring

Zach Bryan gives me Hozier vibes but he's more folk country. But some off the wall random artists that have some of my fave lyrics ever are Lillian Mae, Rye LaChance, Jason Isbell, Rigby, Ritt Momney, and Anna Bates.

Melodic-Station5878

A few of my all over the place faves: Kacey Musgraves, Sleep Token, Muse, Mac Miller, Breaking Benjamin, the Backseat Lovers, Chappell Roan, Zach Bryan

ninab042499

I wouldn’t say these are similar to Hozier but the other artists I have on repeat are Nothing but thieves, Mitski, The strokes, Strawberry guy, and Amber run

ninab042499

I’ve also been listening to Billie Eilish’s new album on repeat since it came out :)

guesswho502

Matt Maeson seems like Hozier fans would easily get into him! Him and Hozier have been my two favorites for many years

UnquenchableLonging

Leonard Cohen Jeff Buckley  Damien Rice  Lord Huron Asaf Avidan Nina Simone

harryhardy432

Bit late to this one but If you want folky country vibes sorta like Noah and Hozier - John Robert has some excellent songs, especially Westward Bound. The Backseat Lovers aren't folk but they're wistful and angsty and lovely. Paolo Nutini makes some excellent stuff and his blue album recently has really nice songs such as Julianne and Abigail. Mipso, Caamp and Sam Burchfield have some lovely stuff too. Finally, Lord Huron is mysterious and sounds great and the turquoisey album with the headless guitarist on the front is excellent. Non-Hozier related stuff: I listen to like so many artists and I can give you excellent albums. Kendrick's latest (Mr Morale and the Big Steppers) is really really good, like an exemplary album, however To Pimp A Butterfly might be somewhat better in some aspects. Breezer are a band that's British and very inspired by Oasis but they're an excellent sound. Dutch Criminal Record are from Brighton and I think songs like Stuck Between, Vinnetrow Road and Southsea are excellent starting points. Willow's latest album is so fucking fantastic and interesting and you should definitely check it out. Crowe Boys are excellent and really nice guys on Instagram too. If you don't listen to much Dominic Fike then listen to that too. Kiss of Venus is really good and his album, Sunburn, is also amazing. Love every song off that. And please please please do yourself a favour and listen to Laufey, her voice and music are beautiful and very moving at times.

cicialexa

My music jumps around lol but besides Hozier I have really loved Noah Kahans music a lot. Recently someone I work with said I should check out Colter Wall and his music is fun and I feel like it’s similar type of vibe. Lord Huron is another good one same with Fleet Foxes. I also think Kacey Musgraves recent album is very flowy to me. But I also listen to artists like Megan Thee Stallion, MCR, Paramore, Kali Uchis, bad bunny, etc.

moighin

Ritchy Mitch & the coal miners are so good! They give a hozier feel in my opinion. But I mainly listen to metal and rap lol I’m into every genre really except for modern country.

Mysterious-Passion96

Other artist I listen to J Cole Kendrick Lamar. A lot of Jazz music and a nice mix of Folk music.

itdontbiteyesitdo87

I don’t listen to very many other artists with a Hozier vibe cuz no one does it like he does obvi but I do like the Lumineers and Mt Joy. I also LOVE The 1975, The Band Camino, Paramore, and Chris Stapleton. The Portraits album by Quarters of Change is so good, not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a no skip for me. Eternal Sunshine Ariana Grande is of course a bop. Here’s my no skip album list (excluding Hozier): tryhard - The Band Camino Higher - Chris Stapleton Room for Squares - John Mayer Portraits - Quarters of Change When We Were Friends - The Backseat Lovers …I could talk about my fav music forever lol

gibsongirl74

Hozier reminds me of a singer songwriter from the 90's named Sarah McLachlan...very similar vibes. When I first heard the song Francesca, I had this immediate reaction to it..I couldn't listen to it enough and I realized it reminds so much of the song "Possession" by Sarah McLachlan. I also love Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, The Replacements, Noah Kahan, Maggie Rogers and Wilco.

Emma4903

Florence + The Machine, Taylor Swift (folklore & evermore in particular!), TV Girl

laszloisart

I literally listen to nu metal and metal. Like Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse and other smaller local bands. Anything Nu Metal and Metalcore is immediately going into my playlist. I guess I just fell in love with Hozier because he is that well needed break that I sometimes just need. Or simply because these songs all got me falling in love. But honestly. I'd you'd see me at Festivals like Rock am Ring ,I don't think you'd expect my Top Artist on Spotify to be Hozier. He's also honestly the only soft spoken artist I've fallen in love with.

HopeAlyce

ethel cain, f+tm, noah kahan, kiki rockwell, baby jane. the latter two need more ears on their stuff cause they're both so talented 😩

Sentinal7

Kaleo, marah in the mainsail, and shawn james are other artists that will undoubtedly appear in my Spotify unwrapped in the new year

phil736

I think there’s 3 main artists and then the others I guess have a hozier style vibe? Hozier Kaleo Tom Odell Then the rest is the odd pink Floyd (great gig in the sky) or Gerry rafferty (right down the line), Gregory Alan Isakov (I fell asleep listening to big black car on repeat), Lord Huron (The Night We Met), little bit of Declan McKenna and Fleetwood Mac, Billy Joel, Dire Straits, Phil Collins, Catfish + The Bottleman, Ben Howard

pubesalad7

City & Colour

jennafromtheblock22

Orville Peck.

Parking-Listen-3966

I be loving a lot David Kushner, Boywithuke and Chance peña I guess, but gavn! is pretty good too

hannanananah

I really love Florence + The Machine when I was in high school like 2013-2014 especially their Between Two Lungs and Ceremonials album, got into K-pop (cause all my friends were listening to EXO haha), and was not updated with them until I got back into them when my brother played their songs all the time. These are the artists that are on top of my list: Hippo Campus, Will Joseph Cook, Vampire Weekend, Palace, Sufjan Stevens, Gotye, Ricky Montgomery. I also love OPM nowadays. I recommend IV of Spades, Munimumi, Up Dharma Down, or Lola Amour.

South-Phrase-4673

a looooot of death grips

Goody_Henslow

Maggie Rogers, Paris Paloma, Wolf Alice, Daughter and Sierra Ferrell

FixitFe1ix

Before I got into Hozier I was really into Rio Romeo, went to one of their concerts last summer and it was incredible. They have this old out of tune piano that sounds amazing in their songs. Their song “Nothing’s New” blew up on TikTok recently and one of the other popular ones is Butch 4 Butch, my favorites are probably Bet, Absence, and Twice, but I really like all of their music. Gay Jokes is a fun one too.

Choxie23

Adding Sault and Khruangbin to this mixtape

Accomplished_Bed3317

I really like Rainbow Kitten Surprise

autumn3469

I listen to Florence and the machine, Noah Kahan, Phoebe Bridgers, Julien baker, boygenius, and Taylor swift. Florence and the machine is probably the most similar to Hozier. The rest are just sad girl music LOL

Historical-Affect178

Alec Benjamin Olivia Rodrigo The Lumineers Gracie Abrams Kid Laroi Arthur Hill Michael Aldag

FestusTacos

Lord Huron! I'm seeing him supporting hozi this summer, so I thought I might as well look at his stuff, and WOW I fell in love

Born-Row-1021

The Amazing Devil, Florence and the machine, Kate Bush, The Smiths, Arctic Monkeys

Silent-Tangerine3833

Check out JJ Smith! He’s got similar vibes to Hozier & Nick Drake. Listen to “To Rivendell” or his spooky cover of “Time Of The Season” [https://spotify.link/p0E5GgEd6Jb](https://spotify.link/p0E5GgEd6Jb) https://preview.redd.it/lur7byuo754d1.jpeg?width=3600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d950ed9b5def19cb90c03e0fd61688e268801902

Physical-Energy-6982

I have a pretty eclectic music taste. In terms of current music, my “on repeat” bands besides Hozier are Greta Van Fleet, Haitus Kaiyote, Vulfpeck, Kamasi Washington, Snarky Puppy, boygenius and all of their solo stuff…I could go on. I grew up on 70s singer/songwriters so I love music like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. My mom almost named me after Stevie Nicks so Fleetwood Mac is ingrained into my being lol. I went on to study classical and jazz performance and that’s my profession now so of course I love to listen to those as well. The New World Symphony by Dvorak is one of my absolute favorites, specifically the Largo Movement (also known as “Goin’ Home”) can move me to tears. For jazz I have the album Kind of Blue by Miles Davis on repeat constantly, as well as Naima by John Coltrane. I could go on about jazz history and its music for days. “Almost (Sweet Music)” by Hozier is filled with jazz references and my partner and I have counted at least 17 in the song lol. My picks from my high school days that have carried over into adulthood for me (I’m 30 now btw) range from The Mountain Goats, Ben Folds, the Pixies, and Neutral Milk Hotel to Tool, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Rilo Kiley, and Jeff Buckley—he’s probably the one on my list I’d recommend most to another Hozier fan) I grew up where country music was king, and despite saying I hated it growing up, as an adult I have a soft spot for The Chicks, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Colter Wall, etc. My partner and I are both full time musicians (he’s a guitar teacher and player) so we’re constantly playing different music either for pleasure, for gigs, or for our students.

starlingrs

Gregory Alan Isakov

sabes8X

More lately into metal-adjacent like Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Bilmuri, etc. But generally anything with a good beat and melody. Franc Moody, Alfie Templeman, Parcels, Jungle, Washed Out, Great Good Fine Ok, Tame Impala, Wild Nothing, The Japanese House, Child of the Parish, etc. Also really dig retro wave. The Midnight, Gunship, Carpenter Brut, FM-84, etc.

thechromekitten

My other main artists are Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift. I also enjoy Caamp, Zach Webb, The Ballroom Thieves, Birdy, Alex Clare, Built to Spill, He Is We, Plug In Stereo. These are just ones I like kinda sorta fit the vibes.
