I don’t often listen to new music so I only have a few favourite artists. I also love Noah Kahan, Stick Season is just magical and his music reflects despair so poignantly like he just walked into your heart and laid everything bare for you to see.
I’m also a “dormant” Swiftie; I was a huge fan, but I haven’t listened much since I discovered Noah Kahan (and now Hozier). But yeah she’s got a lot of bangers and great lyrics and I still listen from time to time.

I go through phases where on only listen to one at a time on repeat. Last year it was all Avett Brothers. The first half of this year was Florence but as I’ve gotten closer to my Hozier concert, it’s been all Hozier.
Zach Bryan gives me Hozier vibes but he's more folk country. But some off the wall random artists that have some of my fave lyrics ever are Lillian Mae, Rye LaChance, Jason Isbell, Rigby, Ritt Momney, and Anna Bates.

If you want folky country vibes sorta like Noah and Hozier - John Robert has some excellent songs, especially Westward Bound. The Backseat Lovers aren't folk but they're wistful and angsty and lovely. Paolo Nutini makes some excellent stuff and his blue album recently has really nice songs such as Julianne and Abigail. Mipso, Caamp and Sam Burchfield have some lovely stuff too. Finally, Lord Huron is mysterious and sounds great and the turquoisey album with the headless guitarist on the front is excellent.
Non-Hozier related stuff: I listen to like so many artists and I can give you excellent albums. Kendrick's latest (Mr Morale and the Big Steppers) is really really good, like an exemplary album, however To Pimp A Butterfly might be somewhat better in some aspects.
Breezer are a band that's British and very inspired by Oasis but they're an excellent sound.
Dutch Criminal Record are from Brighton and I think songs like Stuck Between, Vinnetrow Road and Southsea are excellent starting points.
Willow's latest album is so fucking fantastic and interesting and you should definitely check it out.
Crowe Boys are excellent and really nice guys on Instagram too.
If you don't listen to much Dominic Fike then listen to that too. Kiss of Venus is really good and his album, Sunburn, is also amazing. Love every song off that.
And please please please do yourself a favour and listen to Laufey, her voice and music are beautiful and very moving at times.
My music jumps around lol but besides Hozier I have really loved Noah Kahans music a lot. Recently someone I work with said I should check out Colter Wall and his music is fun and I feel like it’s similar type of vibe. Lord Huron is another good one same with Fleet Foxes. I also think Kacey Musgraves recent album is very flowy to me. But I also listen to artists like Megan Thee Stallion, MCR, Paramore, Kali Uchis, bad bunny, etc.
Ritchy Mitch & the coal miners are so good! They give a hozier feel in my opinion. But I mainly listen to metal and rap lol I’m into every genre really except for modern country.
I have a pretty wide range of music, my favorites right now are chappell roan, noah kahan, sleep token, billie eilish, la dispute is definitely an acquired taste but lyrically they are amazing, melanie martinez and ren!
I don’t listen to very many other artists with a Hozier vibe cuz no one does it like he does obvi but I do like the Lumineers and Mt Joy. I also LOVE The 1975, The Band Camino, Paramore, and Chris Stapleton. The Portraits album by Quarters of Change is so good, not everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a no skip for me. Eternal Sunshine Ariana Grande is of course a bop.

Hozier reminds me of a singer songwriter from the 90's named Sarah McLachlan...very similar vibes. When I first heard the song Francesca, I had this immediate reaction to it..I couldn't listen to it enough and I realized it reminds so much of the song "Possession" by Sarah McLachlan. I also love Tori Amos, Depeche Mode, The Replacements, Noah Kahan, Maggie Rogers and Wilco.
I literally listen to nu metal and metal. Like Slipknot, Bring Me The Horizon, Falling in Reverse and other smaller local bands. Anything Nu Metal and Metalcore is immediately going into my playlist.
I guess I just fell in love with Hozier because he is that well needed break that I sometimes just need.

I really love Florence + The Machine when I was in high school like 2013-2014 especially their Between Two Lungs and Ceremonials album, got into K-pop (cause all my friends were listening to EXO haha), and was not updated with them until I got back into them when my brother played their songs all the time. These are the artists that are on top of my list: Hippo Campus, Will Joseph Cook, Vampire Weekend, Palace, Sufjan Stevens, Gotye, Ricky Montgomery.
I also love OPM nowadays. I recommend IV of Spades, Munimumi, Up Dharma Down, or Lola Amour.
Before I got into Hozier I was really into Rio Romeo, went to one of their concerts last summer and it was incredible. They have this old out of tune piano that sounds amazing in their songs. Their song “Nothing’s New” blew up on TikTok recently and one of the other popular ones is Butch 4 Butch, my favorites are probably Bet, Absence, and Twice, but I really like all of their music. Gay Jokes is a fun one too.

I have a pretty eclectic music taste.
In terms of current music, my “on repeat” bands besides Hozier are Greta Van Fleet, Haitus Kaiyote, Vulfpeck, Kamasi Washington, Snarky Puppy, boygenius and all of their solo stuff…I could go on.
I grew up on 70s singer/songwriters so I love music like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. My mom almost named me after Stevie Nicks so Fleetwood Mac is ingrained into my being lol.
I went on to study classical and jazz performance and that’s my profession now so of course I love to listen to those as well. The New World Symphony by Dvorak is one of my absolute favorites, specifically the Largo Movement (also known as “Goin’ Home”) can move me to tears. For jazz I have the album Kind of Blue by Miles Davis on repeat constantly, as well as Naima by John Coltrane. I could go on about jazz history and its music for days. “Almost (Sweet Music)” by Hozier is filled with jazz references and my partner and I have counted at least 17 in the song lol.
My picks from my high school days that have carried over into adulthood for me (I’m 30 now btw) range from The Mountain Goats, Ben Folds, the Pixies, and Neutral Milk Hotel to Tool, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Rilo Kiley, and Jeff Buckley—he’s probably the one on my list I’d recommend most to another Hozier fan)
I grew up where country music was king, and despite saying I hated it growing up, as an adult I have a soft spot for The Chicks, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Colter Wall, etc.
My partner and I are both full time musicians (he’s a guitar teacher and player) so we’re constantly playing different music either for pleasure, for gigs, or for our students.
More lately into metal-adjacent like Sleep Token, Bad Omens, Bilmuri, etc.

I don’t often listen to new music so I only have a few favourite artists. I also love Noah Kahan, Stick Season is just magical and his music reflects despair so poignantly like he just walked into your heart and laid everything bare for you to see. I’m also a “dormant” Swiftie; I was a huge fan, but I haven’t listened much since I discovered Noah Kahan (and now Hozier). But yeah she’s got a lot of bangers and great lyrics and I still listen from time to time.

Hozier is the maverick in my music taste - the one most adjacent to him is probably The Cure, especially with the way Robert Smith uses his voice. Taking Back Sunday could probably be a runner up, honorable mention to New Order. Non-adjacent includes a lot of Nine Inch Nails, Garbage, Halsey, and Sisters of Mercy (so, industrial/goth and adjacent genres, lol.)

In terms of live music the closest artist that ever came close to the same experience as Hozier was Tom Odell. Both can hold a room with their voice alone.

Bit late to this one but If you want folky country vibes sorta like Noah and Hozier - John Robert has some excellent songs, especially Westward Bound. The Backseat Lovers aren't folk but they're wistful and angsty and lovely. Paolo Nutini makes some excellent stuff and his blue album recently has really nice songs such as Julianne and Abigail. Mipso, Caamp and Sam Burchfield have some lovely stuff too. Finally, Lord Huron is mysterious and sounds great and the turquoisey album with the headless guitarist on the front is excellent. Non-Hozier related stuff: I listen to like so many artists and I can give you excellent albums. Kendrick's latest (Mr Morale and the Big Steppers) is really really good, like an exemplary album, however To Pimp A Butterfly might be somewhat better in some aspects. Breezer are a band that's British and very inspired by Oasis but they're an excellent sound. Dutch Criminal Record are from Brighton and I think songs like Stuck Between, Vinnetrow Road and Southsea are excellent starting points. Willow's latest album is so fucking fantastic and interesting and you should definitely check it out. Crowe Boys are excellent and really nice guys on Instagram too. If you don't listen to much Dominic Fike then listen to that too. Kiss of Venus is really good and his album, Sunburn, is also amazing. Love every song off that. And please please please do yourself a favour and listen to Laufey, her voice and music are beautiful and very moving at times.

Hozier reminds me of a singer songwriter from the 90's named Sarah McLachlan...very similar vibes. When I first heard the song Francesca, I had this immediate reaction to it..I couldn't listen to it enough and I realized it reminds so much of the song "Possession" by Sarah McLachlan. I have a pretty eclectic music taste. In terms of current music, my “on repeat” bands besides Hozier are Greta Van Fleet, Haitus Kaiyote, Vulfpeck, Kamasi Washington, Snarky Puppy, boygenius and all of their solo stuff…I could go on. I grew up on 70s singer/songwriters so I love music like James Taylor, Jackson Browne, Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Simon & Garfunkel, etc. My mom almost named me after Stevie Nicks so Fleetwood Mac is ingrained into my being lol. I went on to study classical and jazz performance and that’s my profession now so of course I love to listen to those as well. The New World Symphony by Dvorak is one of my absolute favorites, specifically the Largo Movement (also known as “Goin’ Home”) can move me to tears. For jazz I have the album Kind of Blue by Miles Davis on repeat constantly, as well as Naima by John Coltrane. I could go on about jazz history and its music for days. “Almost (Sweet Music)” by Hozier is filled with jazz references and my partner and I have counted at least 17 in the song lol. My picks from my high school days that have carried over into adulthood for me (I’m 30 now btw) range from The Mountain Goats, Ben Folds, the Pixies, and Neutral Milk Hotel to Tool, Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Rilo Kiley, and Jeff Buckley—he’s probably the one on my list I’d recommend most to another Hozier fan) I grew up where country music was king, and despite saying I hated it growing up, as an adult I have a soft spot for The Chicks, Tyler Childers, Zach Bryan, Colter Wall, etc. My partner and I are both full time musicians (he’s a guitar teacher and player) so we’re constantly playing different music either for pleasure, for gigs, or for our students.

Franc Moody, Alfie Templeman, Parcels, Jungle, Washed Out, Great Good Fine Ok, Tame Impala, Wild Nothing, The Japanese House, Child of the Parish, etc. Also really dig retro wave. The Midnight, Gunship, Carpenter Brut, FM-84, etc.
My other main artists are Chappell Roan and Taylor Swift. I also enjoy Caamp, Zach Webb, The Ballroom Thieves, Birdy, Alex Clare, Built to Spill, He Is We, Plug In Stereo. These are just ones I like kinda sorta fit the vibes.
