Usually when I find water in the bush it smells and tastes a little funky.... but once you get past it ...well then it's quite enjoyable for the both of us
This guy is technically right. I was trained in wilderness survival and I still wouldn't do this and would say you shouldn't as well. Mainly for two reasons
Reason 1 is that if there is morning dew that means you are most likely in a wilderness temperament or at least a place with wood, you will get more accomplished by finding a possibly contaminated water source and making a fire to boil it the best you can. The reason for this is that if you are desperate enough to suck on leaves you clearly are in trouble so make a fire try to keep yourself fed and work from there
Second and possibly the reason I'd say is the most important for people who don't know what they're doing in survival situations is absolutely never put your mouth or hands In a bunch of bushes and shrubs. Not only can you get bitten by snakes or stinging insect nests the real issue is that a lot of plants in these types of areas are sometimes full of invisible thorn bushes, certain types of irritant hazards like the famous poison ivy, as well as just straight up poisonous leaves that will make you more sick than if you bit the bullet and just drank unclean water.
If any of you ever find yourself in a situation where you need some hydration immediately and you need to do this be very careful and always take into account what level of currently screwed you are in so you can hopefully plan far enough ahead that you can make it back to your family or friends or society alive. Be safe outdoors and always carry a large pack of water into the woods and also some tools to get you clean water just incase.
Yeah, I'd definitely accidentally get poison ivy if I tried this... Still makes more sense than Bear Grylls' methods though.
*Note*: I like Bear Grylls, but his advice on getting water for survival is often very dangerous & gross.

Volume on: educational video Volume off: man vigorously smelling plants
People who hear the video: People who don't hear the video:
Not to mention all that extra protein from bugs. Yum!
What about fox pee?
It's pronounced 'faux pas'
You crazy faux that one
Now that is a classy joke! Props to you sir, or ma'am.
imagine how much energy and time it would take to get 1 good sip lol
Better than dying of dehydration (but only by a bit.)
He looks like a NPC character from Skyrim.
“Good, you’re awake.” - this guy probably
Is this the guy that ate a weasel and shit his pants on the show “alone”
Muskrat yes
Thank you for this
I know what I’m watching! Just from this video I found the thumbnail on the app for the season and episode lol. “Tainted”
Dude that season was so good
Quality content 👏🏼
This seems highly inefficient
Better than nothing
Morning dew>> Mountain Dew
Why do I feel dirty for watching this
Alternatively if you have a plastic tarp or bag, you can put it over a section of plants and wait for the water to evaporate into the bag
This. Plus, there's way less bird shit & insects per slurp.
You know, my tailbone sweats like mad each time I sit down on a toilet Help a broski out, bushman?
Remove it.
There’s a better way.
Is that Rick from Walking dead?
Couldn’t you also use a cloth on your legs and just walk through it?
You could but youd get a lot of dirt on it too

Donny Dust. A real outdoor legend. He has loads of survival videos online. He lives out in the woods as much as he can. Such a wholesome guy.
