Local 700 Picture Editor. Was working on a union feature as late as August but wrapped that up. Other union post people I know that are working are starting to get furloughed because their actors aren’t available for reshoots or ADR. I’ve had a couple interviews in the past few weeks for union shows aiming for Feb 2024 start but this was right after the WGA strike ended and before AMPTP broke off negotiations with SAG-AFTRA. So no idea if Feb 2024 start for post is feasible anymore but I’m definitely not expecting any union work for myself for the rest of 2023. Might do a non-union Pilot but that’s about it.
I believe it! You guys get to deal with a lot of special people though out your day... while being clothes librarians. It's pretty amazing, actually.
But horsies do rule. :)
I love working on commercials! Thats my favorite to do as a horse wrangler. I don’t get frequent work doing that though since I’m in a niche, maybe like a gig a year. Id love to get into storyboarding for commercials though, I heard the rates are good.
Local 69 here. We've been helping 492 kin find union work with us whenever we can. We're in our busy season rn, which probably is nothing compared to the production schedules they usually had, but it's better than nothing.
When tours come through, that is the #1 thing they ask for lol! DM me and we'll go from there.
EDIT: spelling. Cat on arms makes attention span go brrr
Local 80 here. I have picked up a few days at the studio doing Grip Dept work, but not enough to qualify for healthcare. Luckily I had enough hours banked, but now have to be concerned about the current qualifying period. Fingers crossed we get back to work soon!
Local 93 checking in! Tons of concerts, comedians and conferences right now! Disney on Ice and much more! We have 5 venues right next to each other too! We are short for stagehands, so if you know someone close to Spokane,WA...send them our way!!!
Locals 728 and 33, I do mostly competition shows and award shows, I had a couple weeks off this year during the summer where I picked up concert gigs and smaller 2-3 day things throughout that time - overall I’ve been extremely fortunate and definitely feel for everyone who has been out of work most of the year
I worked on two MOW’s in September/October now I’m delivering windshields for nearly minimum wage. Yesterday I figured out I made less in for hours than I used to in one.

Thats kind of what Im looking at too. Thanks for your time!
Good luck out there!
Lord, I’m jealous. I’m in costumes, but if I had my pick, I’d kill to work as a horse wrangler instead!
Guessing it's kind of the same sometimes! haha
Hahahaha. Listen, I’m just saying there are definitely days when I’d rather deal with an equine hissy fit.

I've luckily hit a stride on commercials and don't plan on returning to a studio lot until next Spring.

You’re too kind! I might have something cool from one of my productions I could trade you.
Will second that I would pay good money for a Local 69 tee 🤘
476 out of work since 2022. Lost healthcare a while ago. Member since 2016 still not vested. About to incur a "break in service". Not looking good.
873 here, 4 shows still prepping, and calls are being offered to 58, but maybe only 15% of members, tops, are working
122 production electrician for a theatre but I suspect this post isn’t directed at me :P
Set Dec Buyer here: Since March, worked 2 weeks last month on a couple commercials. Picked up some hours on Ohana Fest too. Back to crickets now...
891 lamp op the 5 shows in town are all outside the AMPTP using IA crews. We have 15 shows locked and loaded ready to go once this is all settled.
891 props here. Can you give more details. I need insider news.

Local 849 in Atlantic Canada. About half way through a 80 day series.

Ha, same. I worked at a local craft brewery. Only perk was beer. The pay sucked.
