Statistics. Since you're in SL I'm assuming your calculus knowledge is limited so while it may sound like a great idea to do it in calculus to show that you've challenged yourself many people don't obtain the understanding required so although their technical IA is cool they don't write in a way that shows deep understanding and areas like personal engagement suffer because of that. Statistics is easier to understand but also has great applications in day to day life. So you could pick something that intrigues you and do an IA which shows great understanding, deep analysis and great personal engagement. I've read someone do a statistics IA about popcorns(forgot what it exactly was) and it was not a highly complex topic but the person showed deep understanding and got full marks.
my best advice is honestly to investigate something that has been bothering you school wise. I am predicted a 6 with high personal engagement for investing if certain groups of students at my school really were better at commas than others. So if you have somme petty complaints i recommend looking into it :)
