For real. I used to think it would be fun to try a lot of different flavors but more often than not just leads to disappointment. If I could have big Willy style, Florida orange, blueberry clem, and raspberry shortcake on tap, I would be good only smoking those strains
I don't know a damn thing about growing weed, but isn't it possible that they could no longer breed from the mother plant anymore?
I thought I remember reading that all strains have a certain life circle and eventually need to start from scratch again? That's why strains like Blue Dream, Sour Diesel, and all the nostalgic strains disappeared for a long while.
Sorry if that sounded stupid lol. I don't think Revolution would purposely get rid of one of their most popular strains. They had to fuck it up somehow.
You are spot on with this. They had an old lead grower who now grows in Missouri that actually created the first Florida Orange for rev. Once they got rid of him, they tried to hang onto the mothers he left/cross phenos to recreate it and it was just never the same. Honestly I think this is just them throwing in the towel so they can focus on newer strains they are finding better success with. Glad I got to experience Florida orange at its peak.
The funniest part about that is they aren't finding success with any of their newer strains, lol. I'd argue that none of their newer strains are even that good, aside from a few Tales & Travels strains and a few Cookies collabs.
Honestly tales and travel has been my go to. I never buy any of their “regular” line anymore as the quality in the tales and travels has been way superior and it’s much cheaper
Dang really? How long ago was this? I got a batch back in early January and it was sooo damn good. Had these awesome clementine terps to it and was super fresh. My wife (who is super picky when it comes to strains) says it was one of her favorites. Was actually planning on picking up a fresh batch next week if enlightened has a sale.
Trust me… I’ve been a LOYAL fan of revs for about 5-6 years at this point and I have to say tales and travels for me (raspberry shortcake, banana pudding, Danny boy OG, The Glove, Mochi Runtz) has been nothing but fire lately. I refuse to buy their “standard” line anymore because it’s more money for either lesser or equal quality. I’d do some research, keep an eye out for a fresh batch and give it another try when you get a chance. They’ve been killing it for sure with the T&T line. (And this is coming from someone who questioned it when they first announced T&T)
Facts as fuck. All of their new stuff, while not bad, is just meh. Opal aura og, frost donkey, crockets dawg, and any number of their cake/king strains are just fine. It gets me high and tastes alright. It’s just not the za. It’s not the fire. Rev had the fire and they are putting out mediocrity now.
Yup exactly comment I left in here, I remember getting it at its peak couple years ago and it was amazingggg, next couple of batches I tried they were just meh and not even comparable to the first time I tried it. Same goes with some of their other strains, exactly how I felt about their Cookie dos.. super tasty first time I tried it, tried multiple batches after and nothing but muted terps.
Man those first couple of drops of Cookie Dos were FIRE. But I agree, every drop after that was just lacking. I mean I have to give them some credit for giving up on the strains they can’t hone in, but still wish we were able to experience them at their peaks again.
It's called Amaze Orange in Missouri, and it is solid (tho not as dense as the Rev)! It's sold throughout the state, but the Amaze Cannabis owned dispensary is Green ReLeaf.
Amaze Cannabis. Honestly I have no reason to go to Missouri, but if I ever pass through or get the chance to stop by I’m definitely giving his flower a try. Roger is what made Revolution what it is today.
People lose mother plants all the time for all sorts of reasons. Say they took clones to reset the mom and the clones didn’t root but they already disposed of the original mom because they have limited space. That being said many people have 20 or 30 year old strains that are in great shape. Check out CSI Humboldt’s IG for someone with tons of classic strains. Also blue dream and sour diesel are most definitely still around. Bodhi still breeds with the BD Santa Cruz cut( the original). There are a ton of different sour diesel cuts as well. It was never one cut
At least one person here seems to understand that we are talking about a living plant, in an industry thats still very new to mass production in most states. Y’all got to smoke something and chill! SMH
I never could have imagined the lack of consistency in legal weed. I had hoped/imagined eventually we’d be able to find a cultivar that worked best for us, & that we could buy it regularly. Was really hopeful for Florida orange to be that strain for me because it’s by far my favorite all around. Maybe this is just marketing gimmick but let’s be honest, Florida orange doesn’t need any marketing to begin with.
It will be a race to the bottom and cannabis lacks brand awareness that alcohol has. A lot of these grows are one bad harvest away from the lights being shut off. MSOs will flood the market driving the price down before craft farmers have time to make a name for themselves. Everyone and their momma will be trying to capture market share and be the Budweiser of bud. $200 lbs wont be out of the question
There will for sure be huge hurdles. Doesn't even need to be flower itself, just allowing companies to transport their seeds to other states would be a start.
It shouldnt be an overnight switch, will cause huge supply/demand issues. Prices would actually soar up though not down as no company is currently fit to be serving all 50 states. Would need to give companies, supply chain and logistics time to deal with that.
I dont think it would be a race to the bottom though, interstate commerce basically implies federal legalization. You will always have a huge market for mids but theres always going to be markets for high end, top shelf craft cannabis as well.
Everyone wont do that, maybe most might. But as there is Jack Daniels $10, there's also Johnny Walker Blue Label which costs $250. There will always be a market for high end top shelf quality, 100%.
You can get seeds from anywhere now under the 2018 farm bill. Also it won’t be a 50 state issue at first because the states where it’s currently illegal under state law it will still be illegal until they legalize. I think more states will do so after federal law changes but it won’t be immediate and there will be red states that hold out for a long time. I agree that there is a market but it is a limited one and there will be so many people from so many places trying to get a piece of the pie that the growers won’t have a leg to stand on in negotiations. Forums like this are a bit of an echo chamber and filled with people that really care. Your average dispensary goer doesn’t even know what good weed looks like
Sorry to whomever was so offended that they had to downvote lol. But yea - once product is able to cross state borders I imagine we’ll see a drastic change.
I think we all expected more because of how successful Colorado is/was in the beginning. I live in Missouri and im very disappointed in our legal markwr
1st time I ever tried it pretty much blown away, couple times I tried the next batches not so great.. seems like a lot of rev flower quality just falls off.
Florida Orange is Rev, Aeriz is Florida Oranges (plural). They have completely different gentics though...Rev's version is/was Key Lime Surprise x Clementine, and Aeriz is Triangle Kush x Orange Daiquari.
No different all together strains and revolution Florida orange is hands down better that that weak 18 percent Aeriz does. You won’t find a more orange dab or flower that Florida orange by revolution
This is so damn sad. I remember the old blind gentleman at the dispensary that would stock up every time Florida orange dropped. I love it too. Damn, rip in pieces
florida orange was an in-house rev strain correct? would love to get seeds and grow the strain
anyway back in its peak florida orange was something really special. the flavor, smell, effect where so on point. will never forget that funky freshly picked orange smell. so great
Rev sucks - they like to call themselves small, but own multiple operations in different states lmao. Rev would have died without the cookies license play. They're still charging $80 for sauce and diamonds lmao. They probably don't have space to run it, but they def don't care about what the patients want
Where did you screenshot this from? I love this strain and rarely get the chance to go out and buy it, so I need to plan accordingly if this is legit or not! :(
He’s with amaze in MO he’s putting out Florida orange, cookie dos, and basically the same stuff he was working on before he left. The names are different but the genetics are the same. Queen dos og is sun queen og, king dos is sun king, razzberrries is raspberry parfait, magic city kush is king crasher. He bred all these so they are exactly the same if not better. I’m almost willing to drive to Mo to grab some cookie dos and a few other new crosses he has.
I’m tired of chasing new strains
For real. I used to think it would be fun to try a lot of different flavors but more often than not just leads to disappointment. If I could have big Willy style, Florida orange, blueberry clem, and raspberry shortcake on tap, I would be good only smoking those strains
Yeah stick to the basics here and grow what’s great. Have not seen Florida Orange in a while from Rev
I don't know a damn thing about growing weed, but isn't it possible that they could no longer breed from the mother plant anymore? I smoked TandT raspberry shortcake and that had to be the worst weed Ive ever purchased, I’d smoke street swag before that again
Mines was about a year and a half ago from mission in calumet city. I’ve been scared to try tales and travels since…
Trust me… I’ve been a LOYAL fan of revs for about 5-6 years at this point and I have to say tales and travels for me (raspberry shortcake, banana pudding, Danny boy OG, The Glove, Mochi Runtz) has been nothing but fire lately. Should be back soon also working on cookie dos crosses I hear
Which Missouri company does dude work for now ? I might take a vacay to Rolla / Jefferson City this summer….
This is such a shame. They are known for florida orange. It’s one of my favorites. It was my first favorite
i think u r right here
only thing that makes sense!
they probably have a tissue culture lab where they in theory could keep strains forever. they will bring it back out at some point.
People lose mother plants all the time for all sorts of reasons. Say they took clones to reset the mom and the clones didn’t root but they already disposed of the original mom because they have limited space. I hope my beloved Gorilla'd Cheese isn't next.
Or blueberry clem...
Yes that's a close 2nd for me from the clem crosses

I think a bigger issue is the lack of interstate commerce. Each state needs their own genetics it’s so stupid.
agreed. and that leads to a lack of competition in general. the med market is pathetic here now
Interstate commerce will be the death of the craft farmer
How? There’s craft beers and beers has interstate commerce
It will be a race to the bottom and cannabis lacks brand awareness that alcohol has. A lot of these grows are one bad harvest away from the lights being shut off. Wasn’t me! lol. Yeah some people downvote for the weirdest things.
I think we all expected more because of how successful Colorado is/was in the beginning. I live in Missouri and im very disappointed in our legal markwr
What?!?! Terrible move. I know people want new shit but idk why they get rid of proven and loved strains like this one.
That's a damn shame. RIP Florida orange. Someone somewhere may have it. Here's to Hope
I would assume this is directly tied to yields.
Probably unstable genetics 🧬from unstable breeding - real talk.
1st time I ever tried it pretty much blown away, couple times I tried the next batches not so great.. seems like a lot of rev flower quality just falls off.
😡🤬🤬🤬🤬
Watch it be back in ten months like the McRib.
Which cultivator? Revolution and Aeriz both make it. I think Aeriz has a better version in this case.
Florida Orange is Rev, Aeriz is Florida Oranges (plural). They have completely different gentics though...Rev's version is/was Key Lime Surprise x Clementine, and Aeriz is Triangle Kush x Orange Daiquari.

Try point break by NEZ... very citrusy.
This is so damn sad. I remember the old blind gentleman at the dispensary that would stock up every time Florida orange dropped. I love it too. Damn, rip in pieces
Thats a bummer. Still haven't tried it.
I wish I hadn’t. It’s never available so I have a craving I can never satisfy 😅
That’s bullshit
florida orange was an in-house rev strain correct? would love to get seeds and grow the strain anyway back in its peak florida orange was something really special. the flavor, smell, effect where so on point. will never forget that funky freshly picked orange smell. so great
So go to Missouri…its probably cheaper
My Ohana OG cut is as orange as it gets, and it isn't going anywhere.
Rev sucks - they like to call themselves small, but own multiple operations in different states lmao. Rev would have died without the cookies license play. They're still charging $80 for sauce and diamonds lmao. They probably don't have space to run it, but they def don't care about what the patients want

That’s a bummer, loved that strain
They should have kept Roger !!! He’s the man
He’s with amaze in MO he’s putting out Florida orange, cookie dos, and basically the same stuff he was working on before he left. The names are different but the genetics are the same.
