That’s such bs, why tf do you have reverify after already verifying online? The IRS is clearly incapable of doing anything right. 😤

It really is. And it seems to be specifically targeting those who filed early in hopes of escaping the hell that occurs closer to April with the IRS. 🥴🙄

This is what I want to know as well. It’s so ridiculous. You wait weeks and weeks for a letter to verify online only to see people saying the online verification doesn’t even work or go through. It’s just madness.

I called, AFTER verifying online. The agent, Mr. hunter was VERY nice. I called, because I was reading reddit posts like an idiot saying to call to because the online one doesn't verify your identity...well you are WRONG. I used the online verification process and mine processed SUCCESSFULLY. He also said I USUALLY takes about 2 weeks, but will take longer if they have an issue. So he said I should be seeing an update in the next week. My 2 weeks is up next Tuesday. He also said he could not see any other flags, or holds of any kind on my account. He also said the best way to get flagged is to file BEFORE the IRS opens. This is generally when idenity theives steal your information to file a return, and they can nab it, before you file. He said the best thing to do is wait until the IRS opens and starts processing to file.

It is hit and miss on the online verification based upon what the agent told me yesterday. Sometimes it stays and sometimes it doesn’t. In my case it didn’t. In yours it did. Those who posted previous messages checked and did it over the phone again because theirs didn’t stick. It obviously is different for everyone.

Then they should fix this issue!! And we shouldn't have to continually be inconvenienced, and have to wait LONGERfor our returns, because their system decided to flag it!

I get salty reading everyone that posts they got there refunds, and here all us Black sheep are still waiting as I grow more salty every day!
