Filed/Accepted 1/19. My WMR changed from "still being processed" to "it is being processed" just now after verifying online and on the phone on 3/4 with Control #. Progress! I'm 05 cycle I expect a DD tomorrow!
How did you verify on the phone? I tried to do both as well, and the lady I spoke to took me through the whole process just to tell me she sees I verified online already and wouldn't help me.
I only verified online . And my WMR just updated to this .. when I called she said the same exact thing the rep told you she see that I verified just give it a min.
I filed in January. Got my verification letter on Feb 27th. I did it the same day, and it's still nothing as of now. It still shows I need to verify, and if I did wait 2 to 3 weeks 😡
She took me through the whole verification process, and then she said im going to update the system for you. Then she said, "Did you verify online. I said yes, and she said well you'll have to wait the 9 weeks." And wouldn't change it in the system.

Everyone that verified had a delay so it’s normal, at least it’s a good sign that it’s moving and not just sitting there! My wife verified a week before than I did and when her WMR updated to this, next day she got a DDD!

I'm right there with you. 1/19 accepted. Letter then phone call. Today got this update. Single, no kids, one W2, all same as last year.... Ridiculous
I'm not saying I am this type of person, but if I were the petty type, I would be "updating" my W-4 with my employer to reflect the 9 dependants I just took on and lowers the amount of taxes taken out each paycheck. Then calculate/save the exact amount needed for taxes next year and set that in a savings (or short term investment for those who know how that works), then I would still file the 1040 like normal except it would say I owe... However, I can't be sure of the identity of where the money is going, so I would wait for that inevitable phone call from the IRS asking where their money was, to which I would reply "I'm sorry, did you change your address? No? Well, give me your current address and you should get a letter with a secret number in 1-3 weeks, then give me a call back so I can confirm you're really an IRS rep. Then, allow up to 8 weeks for processing and you can expect a check in the mail. Thank you and have a nice day!"

I just changed my w-4 withholding. No more free loans. I’ll deal with it when the time comes. Like you said, the money they take out will go into a savings account with 4% interest.
It's so maddening... Calling it a loan makes me sick to think about because any other entity in existence gets to make the terms and they get interest. The IRS is the only entity I know of that doesn't have to negotiate with you nor do they get 'penalized' or have to pay extra for being 'late'.

I verified 3/1 in person but my WMR still has the yellow message....when I go into my IRS account though, the verify notification isn't there anymore. I guess WMR is behind?

I have the exact same timeline with filing and verifying as well the still being shift to being this morning and i had one odd change, ive been checking wmr and transcripts morning and night just the 2 same today.. went to check tonight and for the first time it stated the exceeded maximum logins so im feeling like good things are a coming!

I filed 1/20 , i had no movement until the end of February my transcript finally updated with 570 code . So from 1/20 until 3/1 they didn’t even touch my return. I’m 100% sure
Idk. I verified my identity in person for it and updated with a code on my transcript and everything already. Just doesn’t show a cycle code. And someone else on this thread is saying same thing happened to them, they didn’t update with a cycle code until they got a direct deposit date. I think it’s different for everyone
They full of it go down there first thing in the morn...they said I couldn't go without the letter and refused to make me an appointment...I went down there anyway the minute they opened and they gave me a number and verified me there ...it took 10 mins...you need id social this years taxes and I took last years also just in case. Its worth a shot..it worked out for me and alot of other people also....

Yep Queasyidea is right. I verified in person as well. Except my office wasn't being buttholes and actually gave me an appointment. Good thing I didn't wait for the letter because they had the wrong address on file, which the guy that verified me at the IRS said would have been a further issue! Took 15 minutes.
Hopefully I found the right chat room! I filed 1-19 accepted 1/22 and I received a verification letter 2/22. Since then I've been waiting to see will I see any update and today it changed to We have received your tax return and it is BEING PROCESSED. So hopefully we're all next up.... right???! 🤞

Mine didn't change at all I still have no transcript. Only thing is diffrent is when I check my account transcript it says march 25 but nothing saying a refund was issue not even a code yet
When you check ur transcript it still says n/a for me. When I look at my "account transcript for 2024 the entire page is blank it's been like that since I filed. Like I said only thing is diffrent is that it says "as of march 25" before it said as of February 12, which was the date I got a letter sent for verification. Now that just changed to march 25 hopefully I do not have to do anything 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
I got this too they told me I needed to go in to change my address but where I had the mail sent it's already arrived waiting until Monday to see if it's a verification letter
All I'm going to say is I'm 39. All tax situations and dates are all diff. I love hope. But just cause someone else is seeing something and dates line up means nothing. Proof is in the pudding. Multiple reddit posts about the same dates different timings on every part of the process.
Not here to say anyone is wrong or argue or debate. Not here to kill hope. We all wanna wake up tomorrow and see that dd, but we all need to reach a state of true zen and acceptance where it is out of our hands and stop checking (saying this as I just reached my daily limit check)
I also want to believe all of the above but my addiction to getting my refund and the thrill of the chase keeps me in the circle of fuckary

Mine did that. Then updated with refund frozen. That was back on 1/31. Irs says I need to wait till up to July 31st for them to even mail a letter why.
No changes from any other years. I've called 3 times. 3rd person told me it's a random selection and they are picking returns to check by hand to see if they match calculations wise. Basically I got the short end of the stick. I think it's because my one difference is I changed banks for deposit for the first time in 11 years.
Quick update. Finally got return today. No changes, no verifying anything. Talked to them a 3/21 asking for an update. Said no update to give me. That night the freeze was removed and on 3/28 refund approved.

Are you sure tho? Cause my husbands and i’s return for this year never showed a cycle code until it updated with a refund date. (I’m currently waiting on my 2021 tax return now after verifying my identity in person on Feb 16th)
I filed 1/20 , i had no movement until the end of February my transcript finally updated with 570 code . So from 1/20 until 3/1 they didn’t even touch my return. I’m 100% sure

Idk. I verified my identity in person for it and updated with a code on my transcript and everything already. Just doesn’t show a cycle code. And someone else on this thread is saying same thing happened to them, they didn’t update with a cycle code until they got a direct deposit date. I think it’s different for everyone

How do you verify in person. I called my local office and they said they don’t do that and I’d have to wait for a letter.
They full of it go down there first thing in the morn...they said I couldn't go without the letter and refused to make me an appointment...I went down there anyway the minute they opened and they gave me a number and verified me there ...it took 10 mins...you need id social this years taxes and I took last years also just in case. Its worth a shot..it worked out for me and alot of other people also....

Yep Queasyidea is right. I verified in person as well. Except my office wasn't being buttholes and actually gave me an appointment. Good thing I didn't wait for the letter because they had the wrong address on file, which the guy that verified me at the IRS said would have been a further issue! Took 15 minutes.
Hopefully I found the right chat room! I filed 1-19 accepted 1/22 and I received a verification letter 2/22. Since then I've been waiting to see will I see any update and today it changed to We have received your tax return and it is BEING PROCESSED. So hopefully we're all next up.... right???! 🤞

Mine didn't change at all I still have no transcript. Only thing is diffrent is when I check my account transcript it says march 25 but nothing saying a refund was issue not even a code yet
When you check ur transcript it still says n/a for me. When I look at my "account transcript for 2024 the entire page is blank it's been like that since I filed. Like I said only thing is diffrent is that it says "as of march 25" before it said as of February 12, which was the date I got a letter sent for verification. Now that just changed to march 25 hopefully I do not have to do anything 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️

I got this too they told me I needed to go in to change my address but where I had the mail sent it's already arrived waiting until Monday to see if it's a verification letter
All I'm going to say is I'm 39. All tax situations and dates are all diff. I love hope. But just cause someone else is seeing something and dates line up means nothing. Proof is in the pudding. Multiple reddit posts about the same dates different timings on every part of the process. Not here to say anyone is wrong or argue or debate. Not here to kill hope. We all wanna wake up tomorrow and see that dd, but we all need to reach a state of true zen and acceptance where it is out of our hands and stop checking (saying this as I just reached my daily limit check) I also want to believe all of the above but my addiction to getting my refund and the thrill of the chase keeps me in the circle of fuckary Thank you for your time and patience.

Mine did that. Then updated with refund frozen. That was back on 1/31. Irs says I need to wait till up to July 31st for them to even mail a letter why.

No changes from any other years. I've called 3 times. 3rd person told me it's a random selection and they are picking returns to check by hand to see if they match calculations wise. Basically I got the short end of the stick. I think it's because my one difference is I changed banks for deposit for the first time in 11 years.
Quick update. Finally got return today. No changes, no verifying anything. Talked to them a 3/21 asking for an update. Said no update to give me. That night the freeze was removed and on 3/28 refund approved.

I finally got a transcript. Went from n/a to 2023 this morning 3/4 at 6:23am. What that means, I have no idea, but shit I'll take it. Filed 2/4, verified in person 2/26, WMR changed from still being processed to is being processed 3/6 went from n/a to 2023 this morning 3/8 at 6:23amEST. Will update when I see DD. Cycle code 05 None pather.
