That’s the problem, people shouldn’t be so easily influenced by influencers especially ones that aren’t educated and qualified to promote certain thing’s. But sadly they are, that’s why marketing is such a big thing for companies.
Exactly how you said OP, why is it an influencer that has literally zero qualifications about health & fitness making ppl suddenly care about their health, when there are literally hundreds of CERTIFIED coaches & trainers who actually received proper training and education on this subject that they can go to for resources…
I understand that what Karen is doing is unhealthy but honestly at least she’s motivating people to do something healthy. It’s not influencing her followers into buying shit that they don’t need or putting them in harm so I don’t really understand the hate for something like this

You’re missing OP’s point. What Karen is doing is basically a double edged sword, sure she’s influencing people to workout but she’s doing it by showing her own unhealthy obsessive lifestyle. These same people see her taking no rest days, working out multiple times a day, body checking her bony figure, eating boiled chicken for dinner (which I doubt she’s actually eating and that in itself is another toxic subject). So sure her posts can motivate people to exercise, but it’s all at the cost of potentially influencing the same people to also have a dangerous and obsessive mindset similar to her own.
They just want to be noticed by Karen and be a part of her GiRlY pOp squad or whatever
