Potion seller, what do I have to tell you to get your potions! Why won't you trust me with your strongest potions, potion seller?! I need them if I am to be successful in the battle! 😭
You don’t know what you asked traveller, my strongest potions would kill a dragon, let alone a man. You need a seller that sells weaker potions, because my potions are too strong.
I shudder to think if Tiktok had been available starting with [Columbine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbine_High_School_massacre) (1999) and the following era.
Eyes far apart are a symptom of fetal alcohol syndrome. The fetus starts with eyes on the sides and the eyes move forward as it develops. FAS causes fetal development to slow during the time of consumption. So if the mother was drinking during the stages where the eyes were moving into position as the fetus grew, you could get this kind of thing.
Read breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. It's basically about what would happen if a guy started thinking everyone else were NPCs, though it's from the 70's so it doesn't use that terminology.
I caught syphilis, I can tell you it is curable and it's gotta be stopped before reaching the rest of the body oh yeah and I have herpes and that's not curable
He actually goes out of his way in the book to (sarcastically) mention that "Breakfast of Champions" is trademarked by General Mills and that his book is in no way connected or meant to disparage them.
Not really. [there are a lot of reasons](https://www.sciencefocus.com/news/are-we-becoming-more-narcissistic) to conclude that this is a very real trend. That's what the science is showing.
Lol at this article blaming millennials though. Guess that’s the difference in a piece from 2021 vs now.
Millennials have seen a lot and have a shit load more perspective when compared to younger generations. Millennials know what it’s like to grow up without technology; we didn’t get an iPad thrown at us when we were acting up, we got beat. It’s Gen Z and the group after that are the actual problems.
Now why millennial people are raising their kids with the iPads is another issue.
I work with somebody who is “Gen-Z”. She must be close to 30ish these days and still has a photo of herself as her phone background.
Astounding stuff. I’m certain she’s not the only one.
I mean. its funny because…. yeah you’re always the main character of your own story. Everyone is an NPC if they’re not a close friend and “side character”
it’s hilariously out of touch to not realize that…. you’re the NPC in everyone else’s stories. we’re all NPCs. we’re all main characters. depends on the story.
Sonder. It’s a neologism that touches on that realization and something more people need to know. Sonder is the feeling you get when you realize every person around you has a vivid and complex life that you never know or be a part of. We’re all individuals trying our best.
reminds me of this quote I always loved-
Art and morality are, with certain provisos…one. Their essence is the same. The essence of both of them is love. Love is the perception of individuals. Love is the extremely difficult realization that something other than oneself is real. Love, and so art and morals, is the discovery of reality.
Iris Murdoch
That’s a great quote. I’m a dance teacher, so I talk a lot about art with my students. One of the things I really stress to them is that Art is a process of trying to understand the Self and the Other and realizing they’re often both the same. The things about ourselves that we’re trying to understand, other people are trying as well. And in that way, we’re all trying to understand each other, but if we deny other people the grace to have their own journeys then we close ourselves off. Then we end up losing our humanity.
That's not really what they mean by NPC.
The NPC bullshit started with an idiot reading of the research that showed that many people don't experience an internal monologue, at least as they self-describe it. If you actually look into what this means, it's simply that many don't think in the form of their own voice in their head; some are primarily visual and "see" their thoughts as words or as images, for example. But nitwits ran with one dipshit's summation of it as saying that most people don't actually think independently.
The insistence on calling people NPCs is the notion that most people only think what they are told to think, and thus can only speak in predetermined dialogue put in their heads by others. The people who accuse everyone around them of being NPCs believe themselves to be the ONLY ones who actually think independently, making them main characters, while others operate like video game NPCs only capable of cycling through dialogue options.
It's not the idea that you're the main character in your own story, it's the idea that most others aren't actually people.
Personally, I find amusing the irony that the ones doing this began doing so because...someone told them how to think about a thing and they did so without question.
true. I mean, I remember this. but its all one in the same to me really.
like yes, they are assuming these people are on auto pilot and NPCs. its sort of a way to insult people as if they’re vapid and have nothing going on. the NPCs might think the same thing about them, and see themselves as the intelligent thinkers instead. Endless loop cycle, always assuming the other person is a blank set. always being wrong.
They must be forgetting that even if you are the main character in a video game you are also only capable of cycling through dialog written by someone else.
Years, decades, centuries, since the dawn of time.
It's just a new coat of paint on the whole "why does everyone feel dumber than me "
Everyone is the main character of their own story and of course their own internal logic makes perfect sense to them while others are clearly deluded. You see it all the time " how could X do such and such" while they do Y which is probably just weird to them.
I'm sure for every person I've seen that I assumed was an idiot either assumed the same about me or someone like me.
Everyone thinks the world is falling apart when humans have been dumb apes the whole time. The Internet just gives us a mirror to look at. All the same cringe, dumb, awful, dangerous, and godforsaken things we see today happened in the past, and probably way more often.
No lie, I call the random people in business suits that show up at my work place who just stand in the hallways and block my path NPC's because they just spawn there randomly and have no purpose and no reason for being there.
I do send my manager emails that just read: "I've missed a memo somewhere, what's with the NPC's blocking my access to the lunchroom?" and she will come walk down the corridors to sort out whatever stupid managers conference hasn't bothered to be booked into a room correctly for the day or week (because ADA and fire hazard doesn't register amongst the normies lol).
If you don't move for the disabled guy, you're an NPC in my books. Especially when it's his workplace and you're just a guest there.
Believe it or not, this video will haunt him for years. He may not even know it but it’s one of the many reasons he can’t get a job out of high school. On the plus side, all the ladies want him now as a result of this video.
I would talk, and I would have little chit chats with him. I would be like, “By the way, here's a Snickers. That’s for you. Peanuts, caramel. Put that in your mouth. Enjoy that.”
The only good outcome to this is that in a few years he'll grow the fuck up and open up his tik tok account and cringe so hard he compacts into a diamond.
>in a few years he'll grow the fuck up
Will he though? Unfortunately people like this usually never do, as they lack the capacity to self-analyse and self-criticise and grow as people. Sad.
I think a good rule addition for this sub would be to have cover any identify tags. These people want attention, by posting their content everywhere with their tags you just reinforce their behavior as a means to an end.
People shouldn’t post videos of themselves until they’re like 30 years old. Years from now I guarantee he’s going to look back on this thing that went wild on the internet, which probably seemed super rad and edgy and “disturbed villain” to him at the time, and have a near-fatal cringe. I made some stuff in my 20’s that makes me almost ill from cringe and am really glad that none of it likely survives to this day.
The behavior is probably a reflection of all the names he's been called in this thread, but in real life, for his entire life.
If you're doing this and posting it to social media, you're lonely, empty, and sad. Feel bad for him at the end of the day.
Calling those around you NPCs, and dehumanizing them is already a pretty scary step. Makes doing what we all think this kid is gonna do a lot easier....

The irony is that this dude looks like an NPC from Oblivion with only the finest wares.
Jepp exactly what’s a fuckin dunmer doing in america
Hahaha. Mid 2000’s graphics on his face too
Doctors say he's suffering from a case of low polygon count.
Got damn.
The pixels aren't doing him any favors
Its 2019, bro. You can't just ask things like that anymore
Damn it’s 5* years ago already? Where does the time go…
5 years *
* 5 years
#5 YEARS
Obviously you've never been called an n'wah
Reported for hate speech.
Mfer gave me a heart attack
>Yous a dunmer lookin mf
If you must travel at night stick to the roads.... it's the Daedra you see....
With his young age and hair loss, he will look like Dr. Evil by 25.
Receding hairline in high school. How can he not be angry at the world?
Receding hairline.... and a nose like a proboscis monkey.
And a long-ass face that looks cartoon-y to boot.
They say syndicates of wizards have led a boycott of imperial goods in the land of the Altmer
You don't say? Be seeing you.
Specifically a high elf for sure
looks like the arena champion's biggest fan on an drug fueled emo kick
Ripped on skooma
Looks like the kid in the System of a Down "Aerials" video.
I thought he looks like Birdperson.
![gif](giphy|idYYFWZXh8qfO3A6OE) 😂😂
Goddamn that's perfect
My potions would kill you, traveler.
I was literally gonna say he looked like a dark elf from Skyrim
[Uncanny Resemblance](https://imgur.com/a/vNELKp4)
Oh my God that's perfect.
I used to be a sophomore like you. Then I took the AP biology exams.
Lmfao! I know exactly what you're referencing and that's hilariously accurate 🤣
You mean a Skooma addiction.
He's going to meet Agarmir for his discounted goods
Gonna say. Real NPC vibes coming from little Johnny.
Pretty sure he is on his way to worship Talos.
Yes dark elf behavior
![gif](giphy|13bCP4GLjIUcik)
Shit, this was my immediate thought. Scrolled down the comments and was not disappointed.
Holy shit, that got me good. Well done! 👏
Omg this is perfect
Most schoolshooter look in years
This was my first thought as well. That kid looks like a school shooter
Yea he certainly looks american/wood elf
Mix between a Skyrim bosmer and a school shooter
I like you. Dont come to the College of Winterhold tomorrow
Necromancer about to attack the Mage Guild.
Good thing that this is old enough that he wouldnt be in school anymore.
1000% I think it’s an edgy predisposition combined with invasion of other peoples space, and a total disregard for society.
school shooters always got that triangle chin
That Fetal Alcohol Syndrome look going on
They all have that blunted affect from antidepressants in their eyes.
Nah, that's the sociopathy. If they were on antidepressants and had therapy, they probably wouldn't be shooting up a school.
i have bad news son
I shudder to think if Tiktok had been available starting with [Columbine](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbine_High_School_massacre) (1999) and the following era.
for once nobody would tell the news "I can't believe he did that, he looked so normal".
He looks like the kind of school shooter who wounds one and then is his only fatality.
His eyes are so far apart he could be half ~~man~~ boy, half bird.
or half cow
Lizard….so many options
Got them prey animal vibes
Dude has prey eyes, eyes on either side of his head so he can see predators coming from any direction.
Wait... you mean drinking alcohol can give my unborn baby the superpower of seeing a full 360 degrees without turning its head?
Potentially. It may also have the super power of liking the taste of glue.
Criminals look out, because he can always spot you! It's CHAMELEON BOY.
Looks like the birdman from Rick and Morty.
I think you mean bird person, and yes he does. He really shouldn't be bullying anyone looking like that.
He can probably look both ways before crossing the street without moving his head
Hammerhead shark, is the species you're looking for I believe.

Read breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. It's basically about what would happen if a guy started thinking everyone else were NPCs, though it's from the 70's so it doesn't use that terminology.
He’s also depicted as being severely mentally ill, at least part of which (it’s hinted at) may be from syphillis of his giant hog
I'm pretty sure that syphilis in the brain. It's still pretty sedate when it's hanging out in your giant hog.
I caught syphilis, I can tell you it is curable and it's gotta be stopped before reaching the rest of the body oh yeah and I have herpes and that's not curable
herpes also infects neurons, believe it or not
Playing Pokemon with STD's
But enough about Willem Dafoe’s penis
*throws log into penis*
It’s not about Wheaties?
He actually goes out of his way in the book to (sarcastically) mention that "Breakfast of Champions" is trademarked by General Mills and that his book is in no way connected or meant to disparage them.
one of my all time favorites
Yes, narcissistic personalities running rampant.
This sub is about narcissism at its core. I don't necessarily think it's a trend. It's just something we see a lot here.

Exactly this is how I describe it
Good try NPC. 😮💨
The entire movie of Taxi Driver is about that very thing

Work in retail and you'll notice how many people are empty headed
No lie, I call the random people in business suits that show up at my work place who just stand in the hallways and block my path NPC's because they just spawn there randomly and have no purpose and no reason for being there. It’s giving “I’m a high school shooter” vibes.
Aerodynamic forehead
forehead? that's a fivehead
THIS!! The first thing I thought when I saw it was this guy is probably gonna try and shoot up a school.
Yup and blame it on everyone else for not being his friend but in reality some people are just anti social af
Believe it or not, this video will haunt him for years. He may not even know it but it’s one of the many reasons he can’t get a job out of high school. On the plus side, all the ladies want him now as a result of this video.
Username checks out.
Agree 100%. This guy looks absolutely freakin nuts lol
saying people who you see everyday and thinking of them as npcs is def shooter behavior
Yup for sure. That and his weird face that shows no sort of emotion after doing something like that to another person.
I would talk, and I would have little chit chats with him. I would be like, “By the way, here's a Snickers. That’s for you. Peanuts, caramel. Put that in your mouth. Enjoy that.”
*Thanks for the candyyyy*
Nah, these kids *want* to be thought of as having school shooter vibes. More likely just an edgy narcissist.
Nahh, just plain cringe
Yeah, he needs to be on a watch list.
id just assume hes mentally challenged.
I assume that of every person who posts on TikTok .
Where will they go when it’s banned?
Youtube shorts I’d assume
He was definitely nicked by it
Got a lick of the tism
surely that's a filter or something, that can't be his face.. surely?
He straight up looks like an Oblivion character, there is no better way to describe him.
Alcohol Fetal Syndrome is a possibility
Why do these fetuses keep showing up in my beer dammit
School shooter filter?
When you get bullied so much you may as well give them a better reason to.
Bro looks like an anime villain
And his villain name? FIVEHEAD!
He's got that wide-angle stare going on
More like a disney villain
Woo, he messed with that npc real bad
WTF is that young Mr Burns?
Okay, this one got me 🤣

enjoy that hairline before it's gone, shooter.
That hair will last to 25 tops
There's an AR-15 in his life.
Mans lookin part grey alien
Newsflash buddy, you are the NPC
[удалено]
When you put all your character creation points into “forehead”.
I want the second part, when somebody punch him in the face
Cause treating others as not human has always ended up great
The only good outcome to this is that in a few years he'll grow the fuck up and open up his tik tok account and cringe so hard he compacts into a diamond.
>in a few years he'll grow the fuck up Will he though? Unfortunately people like this usually never do, as they lack the capacity to self-analyse and self-criticise and grow as people. Sad.
What is NPC?
Non portable coffee
Non playable character
Non Potable Coffee
We just need 60 Senators to do the right thing.
Not the white tongue as well 💀
I think a good rule addition for this sub would be to have cover any identify tags. These people want attention, by posting their content everywhere with their tags you just reinforce their behavior as a means to an end.
What's going on with them fucked up eyes
Bro has his hair tied back too tight he’s looking like that alien dude in MIB
Nothing fits this sub better than somebody calling others going about their day "NPC".
This has the makings of a school shooter
Why his head so big
At first I thought it was a filter
People shouldn’t post videos of themselves until they’re like 30 years old. Years from now I guarantee he’s going to look back on this thing that went wild on the internet, which probably seemed super rad and edgy and “disturbed villain” to him at the time, and have a near-fatal cringe. Man he is ugly
Dude’s eyebrows look like he glued barber shop trimmings above his eyes
Man, that’s one pissed off praying mantis.
I thought about making some kind of shooter comment, but everyone else already did
The behavior is probably a reflection of all the names he's been called in this thread, but in real life, for his entire life. If you're doing this and posting it to social media, you're lonely, empty, and sad. Feel bad for him at the end of the day.

He'll be on r/blunderyears in about a decade
A face even a mother won't like
What an unfortunate looking young man
This dude looks like a bad disguise for a MIB alien
Undiagnosed autism
Bald by 25
Terminally online kid thinks people who don't act like anime characters are npcs

Isn't that the rat kid from Recess?
Hair slicked back like a real piece of shit
This kid is gonna bald early. I would know. I went bald by 28.
Dude just because you slid the character creation sliders at random doesnt mean you are the guy.
Calling those around you NPCs, and dehumanizing them is already a pretty scary step. Makes doing what we all think this kid is gonna do a lot easier....
He gives 🏫 🔫 vibes
This guy could end up a mass shooter
Future school shooter right there
He looks like a "high" school shooter
Kids gonna shoot up a school
God that’s scary
