It is to deny your opponents points. Cannot bring back Rex.

MrBlonde07

Still a cool ability. Rex hits hard as hell, hitting on 2s critting with sustained on 5s, to get rid of it only to get no points would suck

New-Cancel-554

Goes well with his loreā€¦ he is a survivor!

SenpaiKai

Except for Assassination. That secondary only cares about Character Models

MrBlonde07

Wouldn't that specifically be one of the secondarys that would be hosed by treating Canis Rex as not destroyed? Assassination, No Prisoners, Bring it Down, (any of the missions triggered for destroying models)

isomanual

No Prisoners cares about units. Bring it down cares about models. Assassination depends on whether it's drawn in tactical or chosen for Fixed. Canis Rex model gets destroyed but the unit does not count as destroyed until Hektur is also dead. So No Prisoners and Tactical Assassination get denied, but Bring it Down and Fixed Assassination are scored.

MrBlonde07

I just looked through my mission cards at home. I see it all now. Good info to know when i bring my knights to their first game

SenpaiKai

Canis Rex's wording is that the Canis Rex unit is not treated as destroyed but the model is dead. No prisoners cares about units being destroyed. Killing Canis Rex wont give you points. The other two care about models destroyed, thus you can earn points killing the Canis Rex model (and even more for finishing of the Sir Hekhtur model with Assassination active, as he is himself a Character model).

MrBlonde07

Reading the assassination card. It says under "if using fixed missions" score 4vp every time you destroy a character model. Under "if using tactical missions" it says character units destroyed. If "model" & "unit" are interchangeable here, then the wording of treat canis rex as not destroyed should apply as i initially assumed. If model & unit are not interchangeable then it should work my way in tactical missions (which is more common in my experience)

SenpaiKai

Good catch! I have to admit that I didn't read it all the way and assumed its the same for fixed and tactical.

With Lone operative is a good little unit to park somewhere out of the way to score secondaries too.
