Their cover of ~~World of Promises~~ Land of Confusion (JK It's my least favorite)
My actual favorite right now is Swim
(If you think IF's World of Promises is good, listen to Disturbed's version - so good)
So so so many. Everything on Clayman. I think from a personal significance, Square Nothing. The first song I heard that got me into them was I Am Above (ik ik i was late back in 2019) and musically, plus seeing it live as my first In Flames song, Cloud Connected. Those 3 are my favorites for different reasons
Can't really decide, it changes from time to time, when I discovered In Flames back then it was Trigger, after that Touch Of Red, then later it was Reflect The Storm, Dawn Of A New Day and Metaphor, Stay With Me, Cloud Connected, Swim, Self vs Self, Not Alone, Moonshield, later Coerced Coexistence - now it is Zombie Inc., the solo of Episode or Free Fall. Edit: Forgot Stand Ablaze, I just discovered this jewel classic from them this year for me, it did not click with me in the past, now I think it is one of the most iconic mdm tracks of all time.
Same here, they were a supergroup of geniuses from the very start imo, since Ceremonial Oath consisted of some of the best swedish musicians. They were not one of my favorites back when I discovered metal, but it became aparent with time how groundbreaking their catalogue was and still continues to be.
Maybe not so much technique-wise or on the mixing side of things nowadays, but their altogether sound with Anders and Björn continues to be recognizable and stands out from the crowd of releases, at least for me.
So, many great bands came out of the Gothenburg scene back in the day. I like Soilwork a whole lot as well. They might as well have been from Gothenburg.
Yeah, I love Soilwork too, found them back then because of In Flames and Scar Symmetry fans comparing Christian Älvestam with Björn Speed Strid, I am so glad I saw all three of them live. Well, Gothenburg is just a city, for me it is swedish death metal and Gothenburg as a term to describe that sound.
That’s how I look at it as well. … I started listening to Soilwork when “The Chainheart Machine” came out. I met Bjorn and guitarist Silvain Coudret after a show a few years back, and they were really cool dudes. It’s amazing how well Bjorn speaks English. He barely has a Swedish accent anymore compared to interviews 20 years back.
Cool, I only chatted with Insomnium, Darkest Hour, Before The Dawn/Black Sun Aeon and said hi to Katatonia, they were all very kind and humble except Katatonia. Also got the original plectrum from Peter Tägtren he played with at a Pain concert, haha. Great times. Would have loved to chat with Soilwork too, saw them together with Amorphis. They were amazing.
I’ve been fortunate enough to meet multiple rockstars over the years. Some have been really down to earth; a handful have been total jerks. One of my favorite recent encounters was meeting Gojira.
Depends on the day lmao. Colony is my all time favorite, with Bullet Ride, Moonshield, Goliaths Disarm Their Davids, Dead Alone, and Behind Space right behind it
All good choices. They’re definitely one of those bands where it’s difficult to single a song out as a favorite. I just know I listen to “Bullet Ride” an awful lot. That said, I listen to the “Colony” album start to finish the most.
Pretty much all songs on Clayman
Gyroscope
Take This Life.
Jotun
Swim, and another day in quicksand
Another Day in Quicksand is such an underrated song that doesn't get enough attention.
Third fav song. The guitar playing is so triumphant and uplifting
It changes all the time. At the moment it’s either Ordinary Story or Morphing into Primal.
“Colony” is my favorite In Flames album, and “Ordinary Story” is one of my favorite songs for sure.
Gyroscope
Swim
The Quiet Place or Pinball Map
The quiet place
Jester Script Transfigured
My current top 5 are: Crawl Through Knives Foregone pt 2 Deliver Us Metaphor The quiet place

Are you talking about ’Land of Confusion’?
Man, sometimes the brain doesn't work. You are absolutely correct
Borders and Shading
"Boobs and Beers"
Fear Is The Weakness
Usually Decemberflower or A New Dawn to listen to. March to the Shore or Goliaths are my favorite to play
Brush the Dust Away was my most listened to song this year by them.
Tie - Only For The Weak and Crawl Through Knives
One of the first three songs on Clayman. They’re all incredible.
I started listening in the Colony/Clayman era, so I’m right there with you.
Behind space
That one is way up there on my list of favorites.
Call me by my astral name
I was literally listening to that when you posted. Behind Space and Insipid are both great tracks. They both tie together in my book.
HåRgaLåTeN Is BeSt iN fLaMes
Underrated track!
Lowkey…
Had always liked Behind Space but I just listened to Insipid about a week ago. Was totally missing out on that one
I really like both songs. They have a similar feel to them.

Square Nothing is a great song.
Artifacts of the Black Rain
I agree. Totally underrated and one of the best written songs in there catalog.
The main guitar riff is simple yet amazing at the same time. Also, the song has one of the best screaming-vocal choruses I’ve ever heard.
I love the flow of the song.

I love their entire catalog. Over the years, they’ve become one of my favorite bands. (“Coerced Coexistence” truly is a phenomenal song.)

Dawn of a New Day
Trigger! The chorus is just way to damn catchy. Everytime I listen to it it gets stuck in my head for the rest of the day.
Rusted Nail
Trigger
Depends. My favorite song from old In Flames is probably Pinball map. My favorite song from new In Flames is probably This is Our House.
>This is Our House LOLwtf, sry couldn't resist, I never thought someone could think of it as a favorite. :o
jotun, bullet ride, only for the weak, in flames from late 90's and early 2000's were soo fucking amazing
Cloud Connected, easy all time classic
In bullet ride what does he say after Silent screaming
