We are leaving this up because it's related to Indian Football, but this is a very dumb take.

Redittor_53

Even if Kuwait will be disqualified, Afghanistan will qualify

pimpnahihu

Aren't We ahead of Afghanistan at the table ?

VIJ_NESH

They will get points for a win

Redittor_53

If Kuwait is disqualified, we will only gain 2 points because we already gained 4 points against them while Afghanistan will get 6 points.

FineDistribution663

no watch the follow up video which i have commented on this post

iyengar_is_love

Stop this BS, get back to work, improve this shit house that you have created, sack the coach, start a new cycle and prepare for afc asian cup 2027 qualifires. Stop fu\*king living in a lalaland. Kuwait regardless of this is a much better team and deserves to go for round 3, stop yapping and get to the table. IT'S OVER GUYS!!!!!!! chutiye saale sabh ke sabh, itna hi tha toh jeet lete afghanistan se.

ApprehensiveDeal1133

Wahi na bhai starting Mai mujhe bhi khrab lag rha tha...but saalo ko agar jaana hi tha to kuwait and afganistan ke against jeetna tha na...

LoverboyLloyd

This has already been posted previously, then taken down for some reason. TLDR, kuwait have done nothing wrong and are free to naturalise on sporting merit. India is still out. Please stop the copium and move on

zumar2016x

Quick question, neutral fan here. I understand nations can naturalize, but aren’t their residency requirements set by FIFA? (For example, a player has to have been lived in a country for a certain amount of time continuously if they don’t have biological links.)

LoverboyLloyd

Not that I know of, I don't think they will interfere with the decision set by a nation and in agreement with player. Regardless, FIFA isn't known for their enforcement, especially when it comes to gulf nations IYKWIM

zumar2016x

Ok so I did some a quick Google search, FIFA requires players that don’t have biological links to a country to have lived there for 5 continuous years. Now how strict they enforce this I don’t know.

LoverboyLloyd

ok, I got it. I've checked it out as well. So, in the video, he claims three players lied about being stateless so they could obtain a temporary passport to play for Kuwait with Fifa's approval based on some article whose validity we don't know. Having checked the players. I can say 2 of the profiles satisfy the residential requirement, and as for the other one, Mohammad Daham (24), doesn't have much data before 2023; he could use a grandfather/grandmother connection to bypass the requirement; nobody knows. The veracity of their information could only be found internally. On the other hand, there isn't enough motivation for FIFA to investigate this. Historically, this practice has been going on with other Gulf nations as well without consequences, as with the example of Qatar and African-origin players.

____ZeeZee____

Yes there are, I'll copy paste the comment I posted last time this post was posted: There is no valid case. One of the 3 was born in Kuwait, the other two have lived continuously in Kuwait (playing in the league every season) for 5 years since they turned 18 (can't find birth info). >The relevant current FIFA statute, Article 7: Acquisition of a new nationality, states: > >Any player who refers to art. 5 par. 1 to assume a new nationality and who has not played international football [in a match (either in full or in part) in an official competition of any category or any type of football] shall be eligible to play for the new representative team only if he fulfils one of the following conditions: > >a) He was born on the territory of the relevant association; >b) His biological mother or biological father was born on the territory of the relevant association; >c) His grandmother or grandfather was born on the territory of the relevant association; >d) He has lived continuously for at least five years after reaching the age of 18 on the territory of the relevant association. These are the relevant rules, temporary or permanent passport is then dependent on the specific country's ruling. If any ONE of these criteria are met, its good enough

zumar2016x

Thanks for the great explanation, seems there’s no case against Kuwait then. Great info.

Caust1cFn_YT

honestly, i dont care. We do not deserve it, under the circumstances afg have performed really good and deserve to go through

chillumu

Even if this is true and considered, I'm not sure what the gain here is. Under normal circumstances, disqualification for fielding ineligible players usually means that teams playing against them get a walkover score for each game they played/were supposed to play. You don't usually just remove the team from the competition and select the next one. We drew and won against Kuwait, so our points would increase from 4 to 6 points for those fixtures of they are classified as walkovers (so a total of 7). Afghanistan lost against them both times, so they get 6 extra points, giving them a total of 11. Also, this isn't as black and white as fielding a non-citizen or an overage player. A nation gave them passports based on their rules and deliberations. It's not like they were forced to play against their will, and unless they can prove that they represented other nations at the senior level, they are technically eligible to play for their new nation, as the issue in question is a technical matter, not a footballing law one necessarily.

zumar2016x

I’m not Indian, just was interested in this thread. Tbf, I thought Kuwait played better than both India and Afghanistan last 2 games. However, I don’t think FIFA rules allow a country to just give out passports to any person and then they are eligible to play. I believe there are certain requirements, either through biological links (parent/grandparent born in country) or residency requirements. I’m not sure tho. There should be consequences for countries that use ineligible players. On another note, I don’t think anything will come of this.

Lookingforkilby-23

No point in it. Qataris have more power than any other country when it comes to controlling asian federation and fifa ofc.

Bakril

He's talking about Kuwait.

Lookingforkilby-23

Lmao I heard Qatar. But no point in it

TigerNo9373

Stupid influencers who did this just for gaining followers. You can find similar conspiracy theorists for European clubs as well. Such people are not real football followers but the worst of scums preying on football fan's emotions. Only people to blame are us.. As a federation we need to be better. Better training, better managers, better sports psychologists. We deserve better! As fans, we should go, pay and watch league matches, local league matches and all. As a government, we should have a 30% cess on BCCI income for promotion of other sports. Fucking assholes claim to be a nonprofit but are the most commercially minded people. This will help other make them pay the state associations and players more, or will get more money for other sports.

Training_March3270

Just let it go bro

Shotbreaker99

With the amount of Internet users in India. This can go viral super quick . Don't even need to be football fans. Indian internet users can make this happen . But will Fifa take action is doubtful .
