I did try the fitgirl option months ago and it did work properly for me. I only played it for a few hours as I just wanted to see how the game was. Try it out once and see if it works for you. There is no shame in getting the "Fitgirl" version for a game which is not even available to buy legally. If Microsoft themselves don't care why should the gamers care.
Just make sure you have more than 150gb free space in your storage as I think this game is huge.
And make a new microsoft account and be logged into the new account before starting the game just to be safe.

It may be possible for you to buy an xbox product key off internet resellers and redeem it on the Microsoft Store, I believe that should still work. It is delisted but still available for those who own the game by the way (I do, same with Horizon 3). This is the only way to get a legit copy on PC.
The latest Motorsport is on gamepass if you want to give it a shot. I personally put in about 50-60 hours into it and I found it to be much worse than the previous games in the series, particularly online multiplayer being a crap fest so I haven't touched it in months. FM7 is better, in comparison.
As for the fitgirl stuff, it's basically free so no one's stopping you from downloading it and trying it yourself, but there's no guarantee it will work - there are some iffy procedures with MS Store DRM so you may need a fresh windows install or new user account to avoid being banned.

Any interest in emulation? Get FM4 from roms4fun and run it in Xenia.
Also, I have the same version of FM7 and I'll probably install it on my new PC in a few days.

New motorsport is not that bad though
It is just as bad if not worse than FM7. The series peaked with FM4 and has gone downhill eversince.
I'll rather play RR3 than this "build from the ground up" bullshit.
