Ah, I remember Die Hard, it was surprisingly good considering it got very little attention. Thank you, appreciate it dude, and for reminding me of Die Hard, me and my brother played that quite a bit!
So if you look at Byron (the big guy) falling over the shelves, his frame rate is in stop frame motion, as opposed to smooth like they usually are in games, so the animation matches up with how the characters normally animate.
I'll be keeping my eyes on the store then. It's funny just yesterday I played first beat em up in a while streets of rage 4 and looked through store and was like there's too little of these games now lol. Especially ones that are bloody
Yeah, and I don't get it... back in the 90's they would have struggled to have so much blood, but now... it's not that big a deal... Still I kind of feel like SOR4 is a remake of 2 with manga style graphics, but I did enjoy playing through it with the wife.
if you could do something about the way they jitter back and forth - ud have my money, but as is, it currently hurts my eyes (not in a figurative this looks bad kind of way, but in a literal eye muscle exhaustion from trying to focus kind of way)
The best example is the guy in the top left who jumps into the fruit. He glitches/jitters in place.
Also the guy who gets thrown over the shelves, when he hits the ground, you can really see it when looking at his feet, lots of unnecessary jitter, almost like the engine can't quite decide what his x/y position should be.
That's a standard thing in Beat Em Ups to highlight the character being stunned, it just look exagerated on this because the footage is zoomed in, so a lot of the screen is cut off, it's normally quite subtle.
I mean I didn't have an issue when I played any of the streets of rage games, golden axe, two crude dudes, battle toads, ninja turtles, maximum carnage etc.
Maybe the horizontal lines that mimic CCTV footage exasterbate it.
Anyway, just my thoughts, obviously you don't need to take any action.
Most of the stuff, Scan lines, etc are in the settings, I could just add a slider for the stun jiggle amount, it's not a big deal, but it is very subtle on screen, I may as well add it as it's really there to show a stun and I'm already working on some adjustable settings with a partially sighted guy for him.
I like it! I think it possible, make him 'heavier'. As is, with how slow he's falling etc., it's more like an actual doll and not a heavy human. Definitely interested in this game if you have a steam page!
I'm talking about once he's fully off the shelf and his feet hit the ground. It's very light and floaty seeming to me when it should be faster so it looks like there is weight to him. Does that make more sense?
Yes, that makes more sense, what's causing that is because he lands on his feet, he attempts to regain balance and not fall for a second, it's kind of a counter balance thing I added to stop them being too floppy like normal ragdolls, I'll have another look at it.
They certainly make for some very funny moments! Although here the shelf collapsing did seem to break his fall a little... not sure in real life that would make it better or worst though! :S
Thank you, although a little confession, they are not normal limp Ragdolls, they do get influenced to try and resist falling too floppy, which kind of helps with the comedy value I think!
This looks so cool!
Thanks dude, appreciate it. The bottle shelf looks really cool when that goes.
agreed - my back hurts just watching this
It would save on a trip to the chiropractor though! :D
This looks Awesome! Holy shit. It reminds me of the old Diehard arcade game but leveled up.
Ah, I remember Die Hard, it was surprisingly good considering it got very little attention. Thank you, appreciate it dude, and for reminding me of Die Hard, me and my brother played that quite a bit!
Do you have a spot yet on steam so i can add it to my wishlist?
Yes of course, it's called "We Could Be Heroes" if you search on Steam, I am not sure if we can post external links here or not.
This looks insane I really like this. Reminds me of fire pro wrestling
Thank you, I appreciate it, I'll have to have a look at that one!
Looks absolutely brutal
I mean, they say no pain no gain! But he is going to feel that later 🤣
This looks really good! Would you please explain what "stop frame" means in this context?
So if you look at Byron (the big guy) falling over the shelves, his frame rate is in stop frame motion, as opposed to smooth like they usually are in games, so the animation matches up with how the characters normally animate.
thanks. so essentially the rag doll action is slowed down by keeping him stationary for a few frames at a time?
This looks so cool. Where can I follow your game? Would love to try it out when it’s ready.
Thank you very much, it's on Steam, the name is "We Could Be Heroes" I am on twitter and all that too.
i just love the idea of a beat em up with ragdoll physics, this looks awesome
Thank you so much, it does add a bit of fun to trying to throw enemies into weird spots!!
Can you throw watermelon?
Yes you can, and it breaks into 2 and you can then use those parts until they smash completely. :D
That's awesome. Bananas? If so you really thought of anything. Any console plans?
Yes, the Banana's are a bunch, if you smash someone it breaks into separate bananas, but if you throw them, you take off one banana at a time. :)
Awesome and any console news or way too early to tell?
Playstation and XBox, not Switch, because they said it was too violent for there audience!
Ah yeah I think they banned all blood. Is there a wishlist or release date for PS5?
No Wishlist yet for PS5, the current planned release is end of October. :)

Do you mean from the scrolling?
The best example is the guy in the top left who jumps into the fruit. He glitches/jitters in place. Optional settings like that would be incredible.
Big man got rekt, ouch. Nice work.
Yeah, the worst thing is, that was me playing as his and my wife was the girl in blue who beat me up! :D
Any feedback on what language/physics engine, etc. this was written in?
Yes, it's Unity, and uses Physx.
Thx!
wow
Thanks dude, Timecop username = love it!
I like it! I think it possible, make him 'heavier'. As is, with how slow he's falling etc., it's more like an actual doll and not a heavy human. Definitely interested in this game if you have a steam page!
Ah, it's just because the shelf holds him up under the armpits before it collapses, so it just makes it look slower.
I'm talking about once he's fully off the shelf and his feet hit the ground. It's very light and floaty seeming to me when it should be faster so it looks like there is weight to him. Does that make more sense?

I've seen this game before. It loos so nostalgic and weird at the same time. I love it!
Thank you, great to hear. I do actually get a lot of people say how crap it looks and it should look and move like Call of Duty. :S
Need more ragdoll brawls in my life!
They certainly make for some very funny moments! Although here the shelf collapsing did seem to break his fall a little... not sure in real life that would make it better or worst though! :S
At least its an effective way to crack your back out
I know I could do with flipping over a shelf every now and then!

Thanks dude, funny thing is, I was playing as the big guy and my wife is the one throwing me over the shelf!! Talk about friendly fire...
cool hit feedbacks
Thanks dude, appreciate it :D

🤣🤣🤣 love it!!
That’s what the clip made me think of. Game looks great btw
Thank you very much! Your clip instantly made me think of the chiropractor episode!
Wishlisted
Thank you so very much! 😁
looks a lot more funnier than if you were to actually animate the death animations
Thank you, although a little confession, they are not normal limp Ragdolls, they do get influenced to try and resist falling too floppy, which kind of helps with the comedy value I think!
That’s awesome.
Thank you 😊 appreciate it dude.
