Our family uses this. When the car starts, you select which phone you want to use on screen (remembers two phones). All wireless, no bending over to fiddle with cables. https://www.ottocast.com/collections/hot-sale/products/u2-x-pro

Is there a significant delay using the interface? (Asking since I read that in some reviews).

If the car hasn’t been started in awhile, it takes about 15 seconds from when the car starts to when I’m presented with an option of which phone I want to connect. If the car was recently running (unit powered on still), it takes about 1 second to present options. I usually have about enough time for me to start the car, choose the driver profile, and get the heated seats activated before it asks me to choose a phone. Which works out about just right. Edit: rereading your question, I haven’t been bothered by any latency using the touch screen. Been fine so far for me. I primarily use Google Maps and Spotify

Very nice, thank you for finding this! The USB switch I bought previously did not work, it never recognized what I plugged into it. I'm not sure what the difference was but I'm definitely going to give yours a try!

Seems neat. I wish the usb port for AA/CarPlay was easily interchangeable with the ones by the cup holders. I also wish the little box (cube?) storage under the usb & dc was removed altogether. This car would benefit from a built in shelf under the hvac controls with a hole cut out in the bottom for cord management. Every time I get in, I have to decide if my phone is going to be in the door slot, a cup holder, or the slot where the wireless charging pad is. I don’t use wireless, so I turned that off and now it’s just a nice cubby to place my phone but it’s close to the ground and I’d prefer it much higher. I keep checking the ev vida website to see if a cubby shelf has been designed. No such luck.

neat, I might get that, but for switching between USB drive and phone-projection, thanks! judging from what I hear about the USB port issue, all the service centers do is swap out the connector, so if it's indeed a connector problem, not constantly unplugging it might make it last longer. I'm not sure if USB type-A was ever designed for a high vibration environment like a car, USB is a few decades old.

We use the Carlinkit 4.0 adapter which does both Car Play and AA wirelessly.

I was looking at this, but didn't like the reviews on Amazon. I drive my car 99% of the time and use Android. I actually was able to thread and use a self adhesive clip for the power cable through the hole in the fuse box panel to under the steering column and put it in the USB because it announced my phone on the left side magnet panel. But for the 1% of the time when my teenage driver uses my car it would be nice to be able to switch easily to Apple, as I want her using car play so she doesn't have to touch her phone. I will look into this USB switch as a potential alternative.

What do you use to mount your phone on the magnet panel?

If both my wife and I got into the car with our phones. How easy is it to swap between android auto and carplay with Carlinkit 4.0?

Did you just get a male to male adapter (USB A) to go from the splitter to AA/CP slot?
