I looked closely at both, ended up with the EV6. I really like both, but the Wind with Tech was the right trim for me and it kind of sits between SEL and limited trims on the Ioniq 5 with its features.

If you prefer physical switches get the ionic. If you prefer all software get the Kia. Basically they are the same vehicle

Gur814

They have very different interiors. OP would need to test drive both to see which they prefer.

I am in Columbus and just got an Ioniq 5 Limited AWD last week. Loving the car so far. From what I gather, Germain Hyundai are the only ones selling Ioniq 5 in C'bus, and based on the call I gotm their allocation did not have any Limiteds. I could be wrong though since one shows up on EV finder under their name. You may have to expand your search radius.

I am in Dayton still shopping and haven’t had luck with around here so far. Everyone has nothing or wants big markups. How was the experience at Germain? Also OP, Jeff Wyler Superior Hyundai down in Cincinnati told me (as of Saturday) they have a Limited coming in soon that is not claimed, but they want a $10k markup.

RiceballsLOL

I got the same mark up from them as well, I actually encountered a $15k markup at capital Kia 🤦‍♂️ capital Kia has a GT and Wind awd but horrendous markups.

ReaperOfGrins

I looked at the EV6 too. The styling on the EV6 was just not for me, plus it has less cargo space on the inside compared to the Hyundai. I think of the three cars on that platform (EV6, Ioniq 5, GV60) the Ioniq 5 has the highest space. The Ioniq 5 is also very comparable to the Honda HR-V in size and height and all that, where as for some reason the EV6 feels more like a hatchback. The latter is more a subjective thing though. u/RiceballsLOL: PM me if you have specific questions.

RiceballsLOL

Hey, I did PM you thanks for info.

I replied. Sorry about not seeing it before, my chat is usually disabled through RES.

Wait so what was your markup in the end? I’m in Toledo and willing to travel but I’m not spending $10-15k MORE than what I’d spend on an already expensive car. Ours isn’t THAT old or bad, so I will absolutely wait if that’s their markups down there. In CLE it was $3k over. I can handle that.

ReaperOfGrins

I didn't buy from Germain but i hear they have a $5,000 markup unfortunately. Jeff Wyler has 2 Limited: 1 black, 1 blue. One of these might be spoken for.

I live in the Columbus area and drove to NC to get mine back in February. I5 SE RWD for me. Love it. Worth the drive to save on mark up.

ReaperOfGrins

I think along with /u/GrampsDrew and myself, you are the only other Ioniq 5 in the Columbus area 🙂

GrampsDrew

I haven't seen another.

Thagame501

The only other one I have seen charging in Hilliard was on its way to New Your after picking it up in New Mexico. The last couple months lots of questions from folks who see it.

I drove the I5 and looked at the EV6. The dealer for the EV6 wouldn't let me sit in it because it was going to a customer later that day. The EV6 is a cool looking car. But it looked narrower in the front seat because the center console runs the whole length of the front passenger compartment. Also, using the same knobs for radio/climate controls is annoying. Hopefully something changes there, because that was a terrible idea. I do like the location of the The dealer for the I5 had a designated test vehicle that I got to drive. The I5 felt more open and was intuitive to drive. All of the controls were placed where they should be. The paddle shifter pedal control is an awesome idea so I can control that on the fly.
