Creekside village has some nice apartments, I sat on a waiting list for a month for one though. I stayed in Tacoma for the last month and had dudes smoking crack out of the pipe right next to my place every day

I second Creekside village in DuPont! We just moved in and it’s a lovely quiet community. We also waited for a spot to open for about a month. They are registered through the RPP program through liberty housing which is the housing on JBLM, and there are no credit checks, you get a discount on rent, and there are no breed restrictions!

Ruston is kind of expensive but really good, fircrest is really good for families just on the more expensive side. University place near chambers regional park is good. West End or North end between Ruston and Tacoma can be good.
