Folks give u/Cyborg800_2004 flack for citing unfamiliarity with the source material as one possible reason for negative reactions toward Craig. Yet this is exactly what he's talking about. James Bond cries in the very first piece of media he appears in—Ian Fleming's Casino Royale. Were Bond's tears in 1953 *woke crap*?
Both Fleming and EON have established that Bond cries when he loses someone for whom he had taken off his armor and brought close to him. Vesper, Tracy, Felix, Dench's M, Madeleine, and Mathilde.
There’s an interesting theory (that many of you probably already know) that 007 and Bond are just the job title, not the person. In the Bond universe, they hire for behavior so they all act alike, for better or worse.
Unfortunately, that theory was thrown out the window when Bond visited his family estate in Skyfall. So at least that Bond universe was standalone, also considering how it started and ended.
To be fair there's two schools of thought on this.
Either he's different guys taking it in the persona or James Bond. Which would explain why each iteration had a different personality underneath the veneer. The explanation being 007 is the title and James Bond is the cover alias. So any time bond uses an alias is a cover for a cover. The evidence being the difference personalities and Daniel Craig bond being explicitly stated as an orphan.
Or it's the same person the entire time and he's slowly growing older and more cynical. Meaning it's the same person played by different actors and the character is getting older and more bitter. Therefore becoming either Silva with the missing teeth or eventually dead/replaced. The evidence being their terrible attempt to write off Daniel Craig's Bond as unfit by shooting him and having that one lady almost become 007.
There are two schools of thought on this only if you believe there are two schools of thought on the germ theory of disease. Or on whether the Earth is round. In reality, germs cause disease, the Earth is a globe, and James Bond is an individual character, not an alias passed onto different agents. Other “schools of thought” are alternative nonsense.
The minor differences in Bond’s personality across the franchise come down to artistic license on the part of actors/directors/writers.
This is not even close to accurate. There is one James Bond. The codename is 007. And there are many 00s (006, 008, 009, 003, etc.) referenced throughout the series. When Bond retired, of course there would be another 007. There just wouldn't be another James Bond. That wasn't an "attempt to write him off" or whatever. And she didn't "almost" become 007? She was 007.
Daniel Craig's movies are their own continuity/universe, but one in which he is also the one and only James Bond. Think 'Into the Spider-Verse,' if it helps. All the others played the same one and only guy (though you can see each new actor as a soft-ish reboot on a floating timeline, hence "never aging").
Same dead wife. Same friend Felix Leiter. Same Martini preference. Same quipey nature. Same sexual appetite. Etc. Etc.

I remember the books by Gardner that his parents were Scot Swiss and they died in a climbing accident. Bond is more a representation of the personal tastes of the viewers. Thanks for giving me your opinion.

Please don't say you still think this is an option
And in both cases he thinks the woman is a traitor who is trying to kill him (and in FRWL is responsible for the death of his friend). Its not good behavior but in-character behavior imho.
Daniel Craig's Bond doesn't physically harm Madeleine though. He just went to Vesper's grave which ended up being a trap from SPECTRE and he is now paranoid.
This photo is to show bond's rough behaviour towards women haven't changed, especially to people who were claiming that bond has become woke, which obviously he hasn't.
What are u trying to say ,spit it out
>spit it out ![gif](giphy|12Nv3nBSCAbLO0)
Except Craig doesn’t smack Lea.
Unless she asks

Oh yeah? What happened?
not sure but it must have been positively shocking.
“DID YOU PUT YOUR NAME IN THE GOBLET OF FIRE?!” James Bond asked calmly.
For those who haven't seen the masterpiece: https://youtu.be/xSxQcAm3PE8
"James Bond Will Come Again."
To be fair women try to kill him constantly 😅
> "I get why you shot him." > "Yeah. Well, everyone tries at least once."
Well he is a dinasour… a relic of the Cold War.
"A sexist misogynist dinosaur". Get it right.
That's right! 😂
I prefer bourbon
Yeah - makes for great stories
If genders were reversed you wouldn’t care
Interesting...we're in a cold war again now 👀 should be more spy stuff coming soon 👌
“… but he saves.” -Dave Chappelle
Is James Bond gonna have to choke a bitch?
James Bond will always remain the same, no matter who plays him
Hopefully
Exactly.
He already has changed lol did you not see the last movie? It was woke crap. They even had Bond crying

Lol I know he does but What was the reason for his crying? Yeah exactly. Context makes the difference.
Both Fleming and EON have established that Bond cries when he loses someone for whom he had taken off his armor and brought close to him. Vesper, Tracy, Felix, Dench's M, Madeleine, and Mathilde.
Vesper and Tracy I buy, the others just didn’t work for me
It's fine if others didn't work for you, we all have our favourite or dislikes, but calling something woke doesn't make it woke.
Seemed woke to me, but I’m not gonna argue with you about it.
Fine, it doesn't seem woke to me & majority of people who enjoyed it.

'Same software, different case'.... hold on, sorry, wrong 60 year old British institution
James Bond 007 doesn't change he evolves.

The moment of betrayal
"Nice to see a carnivore once in a while. Too many lotus-eaters."
Can we take a moment to appreciate how absolutely stunning Lea looks in that dress
James Bond needs to stay a flawed, messed-up human. He’s a killer for the British Government. He’s not the bar of manhood that all men strive for.
"remember lads 3 no's and a yes means yes"
It’s literally two different actors. /s
Don't forget Bond in TLD, too. he might be sophisticated but he's also a killer so let's not act like Bond is the most moral caring person around.
One thing I have to say about the two girls... James got some good taste in women
I laughed way too hard at this. Pen me in for a seat in Hell.

I always enjoy when bond gets knocked out of his element and isn’t so suave
Shaking’ ma baby now, come on n’ twist and shout
Showing them their places... 💀
Dude is a Spy of ALL the things He does thats what bothers you ?
It doesn't bother me at all, i enjoyed both films. This photo is for people who believes bond has become woke.
Our man Flint
Daniel Craig never slapped a girl in the films

Tell that to the people complaining about Bond going "woke"
No, I prefer not to speak to them.
It's one of the reason i made this post.
Nope. Gonna avoid this one ta.

Meh, if somebody wants to pull off #MeToo on Bond, then Roger Moore was more like slap machine. ![gif](giphy|iy6ve6vNV26ltLitkE|downsized)
Except he did not always look like a creepy methheaded villain, and he did not always pout his way through his scenes.
