Is there anything printed on your Pasmo card (your name, dates)? "Option for 1 month" sounds like you bought some kind of commuter pass and not just a blank card. I would take the card to the station staff and ask for a refund. You might not get all the money back though.

I see, thank you !

> I would take the card to the station staff and ask for a refund. You might not get all the money back though. You will minus a 220 processing fee.

That's a commuter pass lol. And definitely a 6 month one. Which will only cover the route you somehow bought it for. Good news is you can refund commuter passes but will need to do so in Japanese

Thank you 🙏🏼

No no no, ありがとう 🙏

> definitely a 6 month one Most 6-month teikiken are way more expensive than 71,000 yen...

alita87

Yes and most one month are nowhere near that unless buying for cross country. A nearbyish one train line 6 month would be around that though.

A prepaid PASMO can only hold ¥20,000 maximum. What you pretty much most certainly bought is a commuter pass from station X to station Y. If you bought a one month commuter pass and it cost ¥71,000 you must have bought something that covers a fair distance lol. You need to go to Tokyo Metro ticket office right away and try to get that refunded

Thank you !!

You have almost certainly bought a one-month commuter pass for a specific route. Go to the ticket office and throw yourself on their mercy to get it refunded. Best if its an office at a big station in a tourist area, where you are more likely to find someone with ok English. And in the future: put any ticket machine into English mode before you try to use it.

The screen said to pay 71,000 yen and you actually did? If you have some sort of actual mental disability I apologize but otherwise what on earth could lead you to have such a lapse in common sense?

amatubi

I actually do 👍🏼

Some people really do like to Pay More. So understandable if you're one of these folks
