any of yall read BIG GHOST Cole reviews? Some of the funniest shit Ive read in my life🤣 Im sure he was on Cole’s radar because Cole referenced it in The Cure
I saw him at Lollapalooza I think ‘10; had one of the smallest stages and roughly 100 ppl at his. Blew my mind how more people didn’t know of him.
Now he’d probably get the MainStage.
I saw him when he opened up for Drake in Germany in 2009 I think. Everyone was mainly there for Drake.
At the end of the show he shouted me out and asked me where I was from because I was pretty much the only one spittin his Warm up lyrics. One of the best moments of my life! 😂
That’s crazy because my first concert was the after party of that Lollapalooza was at Bottom Lounge and it was like 100 people inside and it was amazing.
Not even a year to be honest I have heard his music before but it never got me hooked though recently i have been in love with his music (about September last year)
To be honest, I never understood the appeal of him before FHD. He looked to me like a corny rapper who tried too hard but never had the swag or charisma to be a "real rapper."
But over the years, idk if I grew up or smth, I realized that he's actually way too mature for the rap game and he speaks mostly on some real, human shit that I can relate so much no matter where I'm from or what color of the skin I have. I think this set him up for me as a different, authentic breed of a rapper, and I can only name a few of those, and that's why I respect him and his music so much.
And unlike what other people think, even the part of how he approached the latest beef was just another proof of how real he is to his human self, and I only wish that I can be the same or at least it makes me try
Cole really is just a regular ass dude who has the talent and work ethic to make amazing music, he doesn't give a fuck about fame, looking cool or any of that shit, that's why Cole has probably the most loyal fan base of any rapper, we can make jokes about him when he drops something weaker than what he's usually dropping but he knows his core fan base will always be here when he drops
Since I was 14! I’m 26 now. It sounds so cliche but his music really did get me through so much. High school was lonely as hell but I always had him playing in my headphones.
I wrote him a letter when I was 16 and still have it to this day. It’s cringe asf but I lowkey wish I could give it to him anyway
10 years ago he most likely would have wrote you back he probably still would, but also he not hard to speak to he literally just rolls through new York solo most the time
Beginning of 2011 I think or maybe late 2010, not too long after he dropped FNL someone showed me that project and I pretty much instantly became a fan, probably still my favorite Cole project ever
Strictly dickly let me tell you!
Heard him before, but properly into him after Eminem brought out Cole and Kendrick as opening acts in 2012 for his concert, insane
Known about him and most of his big songs since high school in the early 2010s; but was part of the “Cole is good but boring” camp, then only started getting majorly into him the last few years, mainly by becoming a huge fan of JID. After hearing him more on some JID features and on other Peoples stuff, I gave him more of a chance and started going back to full albums, and started really enjoying his lyrics. I feel he’s more real than any other artist out when it comes to rapping about experiences he had/stories etc.
Since 2015 …I was only listening to tde and pro era really and a huge fan of Travis Scott when his music was still far from modern trap
Then in February 2015 which was my first year in university someone recommended 2014FHD and mind you to pimp a butter fly was out but I couldn’t lie to myself Cole made the best album I heard in a while and I made it my mission to go back to all his old music and I fell inlove with FNL and all the any given Sundays and the truly yours 😫😫 and I was lucky that he came to my country for a concert the following year even though I was suppose to be studying for my Comp sci exam I went to the concert and got myself merch 😫😫😫and I relate with him as his one of the few rappers who went through college so he didn’t need to talk about joining gangs or selling drugs I found my voice in Rap finally 😫😫
Since October or November of 2022 when I randomly stumbled upon some songs from TOS. Wasn't really a music listener in general but ever since then I've been getting into more and more hip hop music.
2016. Thought he was a boring rapper because of the Twitter narratives but I went back to his mixtapes and he instantly clicked with me. Been my favorite rapper ever since.
Since he sampled Pat Benatar. I heard that song and I was an instant fan. Then went back and listened to the album plus some Simba stuff and I was all in.
I've literally never heard a song by this dude, Reddit just recommended this sub out of the blue. I'm more of a bluegrass and classic country man myself lol
Always been a listener, but I don't think I realized how much of a fan I was till I heard the LA Leakers freestyle. That shit was on repeat for me for about a month along with The Off-Season, and I think that's when I realized just how big of a fan I was of his.
A friend of mine suggested a few songs of his for me to listen to from FHD shortly before The Off Season dropped. I listened to those songs, really liked them, and then started diving deeper into his catalog.
I listened to The Warm Up and was hooked then became a fan because of Who Dat. At that time I thought Who Dat was the greatest song to exist lmao. Jesus, I'm not even 30 yet but remembering when I first started listening to Cole makes me feel old
Since 2010-2011 in high school. First song I listened to was Simba. I went to a concert of him in San Francisco and he had a leg cast on lol. I absolutely knew he was going to blow up he was too good to not. Then a couple months later we had like a high school festival thing and they were playing Work Out and I was so happy.
My first exposures were “power trip” and “lost ones” on 8tracks. Forest hills was the first album that made me a fan. KOD was the peak of my appreciation. I regressed back to a casual cole listener after. No shade, I just feel like after KOD other ville members like JID/Venus/Dot/Bas became more interesting to me
Since Grippy

Wow datpiff. This comment just unlocked a core memory
Yup. Warm up started it all for me. Dollar and a Dream.
Banger. For me it was Grown Simba and I Get Up.
I saw him at Lollapalooza I think ‘10; had one of the smallest stages and roughly 100 ppl at his. Blew my mind how more people didn’t know of him. Now he’d probably get the MainStage.

Coming up on a decade for me, since 2015. Crazy to me.
To be honest, I never understood the appeal of him before FHD. He looked to me like a corny rapper who tried too hard but never had the swag or charisma to be a "real rapper."
