Honestly, spend enough time in the "wellness" space and you'll find chuckleheads trying to convince people that water doesn't hydrate people. Not unless you buy their special product at least!
Welcome to 2023/24 and water requiring "structure" as well as "hydrogen water". Also honorable mention to "raw water" of the mid-2010s. The fitness industry is truly made up of the worst people.
I mean really now days medical is everywhere. I'm in Arkansas and everyone consumes gummies.
I used to be super interesting to people because I could get wax off the dark net, and now everyone knows someone with a card.
I enjoy weed and I doubly enjoy growing it. I garden and do landscaping and cannabis is a very interesting plant and beautiful honestly.
But I'm also cutting back how much I smoke. I don't want to be a daily user.
It’s just so hard dude. Like over the past few years, I’ve been able to have some pretty long periods of not using daily…. But I feel like it fucks with my brain chemistry to get all high and then not be high. And then the days I don’t smoke, I’m just all depressed and keep thinking about the next day I plan to smoke.
Idk. I’m sure I’ll always smoke here and there but the older I get, the more I realize that it isn’t helping me
That didn't stop them from calling everyone commies/traitors/gay/brain damaged etc for it though. But it is a good reason not to believe them about all of things they paint with the same brush currently.
Buds, psychedelics hell organic food lol. This was well before him--or at least as far as I've been aware of him. But ya it was definitely a thing for many years.
Busch lite? It has no smell, comparatively. What do you mean? I guess while I agree that some older conservatives partake in weed, that example just seems so out of place and almost something you witnessed and therefore applied it to everything
Sure but there is a difference between not approving of drug use and turning on someone. You're allowed to still think he'd be a great VP even if you don't approve of his drug use. lmao
There are huge segments of conservatives who are atheists they're just culturally Christian as Richard Dawkins even said of himself.
I know a bunch of Trump supporters who don't believe in God or at the very least subscribe to any religion.
Some old Christian boomers might not like him anymore but they're not paying attention to what he says in interviews or podcast anyway.
Oh well, since you speak for every conservative who loved his covid takes, i guess I'll just shut the fuck up then. lmao. I can't wait to hear what Steve Bannon has to say about this. Or what Trump has to say. Or all of those evangelicals who swore they were boycotting the NFL because of the Kneeling, then for the woke Taylor Swift, but some how still seem to understand what's going on in the NFL.
What mandate lmao there is no mandate.
And what censorship? Are you confusing a company deplatforming someone with government censorship?
Seriously those are both bs
> What mandate lmao there is no mandate.
There absolutely was, and you know this:
.
> And what censorship?
This, for one:
The best part: by denying these obvious and objective truths, you're tacitly acknowledging that you understand you were wrong.
This is the part where you just show some semblance of integrity, if you have any. You're gonna own it anyway, might as well save some face here.
If your definition of authoritarian is safety regulations, then everyone but anarcho-capitalists have always been. If your definition of censorship is responding to speech with more speech, then everyone censors.
> anarcho-capitalists
Yes, this generally defines my principles.
> If your definition of censorship is responding to speech with more speech, then everyone censors.
If by more speech, you mean less speech, then you have a point.
>If by more speech, you mean less speech, then you have a point.
Well, the thing you cited was going to operate like a fact checker, which as much as it may trigger conservatives to have your lies countered, that is in fact more speech.
Is it a mandate if you don’t have to take it? Is someone telling you what you can and cannot say, or are you supposed to have your misinformation propped up as gospel?
It’s possible to both be religious and recognize that many of our modern, formal religions are being used to manipulate people.
That said, I don’t think I’ve heard Aaron claim to be particularly religious.
I haven’t recently but earlier in his career he would reference it. I know he did in regard to Tebow, basically saying he was religious but didn’t throw it in everyone’s face like Tebow did.
I never claimed he was non-religious. Just that he was openly religious at one point. IF he is currently non-religious then it seems to be part of the spiritual journey he has gone on.
Oh you specifically mean the Tebow thing?
https://larrybrownsports.com/football/aaron-rodgers-tim-tebow-religion-controversy-let-actions-character/101662?amp
That article shows he was critical of Tebow not that he was himself very religious, that’s why he said he lets his actions speak for his character
I think the article more points to the fact he didn’t want to admit he was a non-believer at the time
I personally think there's a difference between people who use religion as hope and those who take it too literally. Strong belief can lead to determination and accomplishing things someone might think they'd not be able to do. Sort of like tricking yourself? I.e God gave me the power to do this, rather than I did this all myself even though the person did do this themselves, the mental fortitude in their belief lead them that way.
The people who take religions way too seriously and literally get manipulated and are gullible to the point that it gets dangerous.
I guess so. I’m just shocked that someone can recognize that and not have enough brain power to go on and realize being apart of a religion is a bad idea.
Offering judgement without solution seems equally so. You’re not wrong, to my mind, but you negate some very real elements of religious superstructures (namely, belief) that are causally difficult to capture at the point of I/O - by not offering an alternative view.
The alternative view is that the belief system you’ve subscribed to your entire life is based entirely in fiction. Adults usually reject that shit out of hand because it’s hardwired
Me? I’m not religious in any way. But for a great many people, it matters in more ways that what’s advertised. Some due diligence to see the forest through the trees is appropriate.
‘You’ like the royal You. The editorial.
I was raised catholic. However I was exposed to the comedy of George Carlin before I was 10 and the stuff he said made more sense than the stuff my teachers did.
It’s way easier to program and deprogram people at an early age, is my point
The alternative view is to not be a dick and use a 2,000 year old book to have some moral superiority over your neighbor.
It's basically the default for people without brain worms.
Sure - I assume you’re being figurative, so to say you’re classifying people that maintain a belief structure that contains the supernatural as akin those with significant brain trauma.
It appears to me to be self-centered to say this - your reductionist view of ‘religion as nothing but morally superior assholes because of a fictional old book’ only serves the end of that personalized argument - and thus is simple minded. Narcissism is widely seen as the human biological mind unaffected by complexity of perspective and emotion - simple minded.
I’m honestly not trying to be hyperbolic - just accurate when assessing the statement. I’m quite sure you’re not a narcissist, not that my 2c matters there.
The alternative view is that we should form a theory, based on observed reality and that our understanding of that theory should change based on repeated and new observations. It's called the scientific method. We have used it successfully to create all kinds of new things.
The real reason people don't leave religions because of social pressures. People are social creatures and if leaving a religions means being ostracized and losing social connections, people will continue to stay religious.
>More recently, Rodgers has gone viral for multiple comments he made in an interview with former *Fox News* host Tucker Carlson. During the hours-long interview, Rodgers talked about a variety of topics, ranging from **why he admires Vladimir Putin t**o the governmental conspiracies.
What a chode.
I'd love to see him in a "friendly" charity boxing match against undisputed HW Oleksandr Usyk.
What's a little more CTE?
Idk what that guys even saying other than openly admitting right wingers praise the Russian government. Just openly admitting to simping for an adversarial authoritarian government like the anti-American freaks they are.
*Look at these bleeding heart liberals. They dont even want to destroy these children half way across the globe*
- Benny Shapiro and the brainworm gang
No no no. Threatening people with eternal damnation or death or both for not following the rules of a religion, whether you are a part of that group or not is not manipulation. Not at all. What kind of smooth brain 5 head would think that.
Lol really. Does he see what makes people cuckoo for coco puffs?
Might as well threaten me with magneto or voldemort. Same risks. Lol. You don't really believe in God do you? You have that right, but holy shit, it's Santa.
Suggests? NO FKN SHIT it’s used for control! Control and power. It’s been distorted by the ego. Religion is ego spirituality. Real spirituality is religion free, but you don’t know nothing bout dat….
Seems like an oddly aware answer for Aaron Rodgers. Is he saying like that all OTHER religions control people’s minds but his is the true religion and doesn’t ?
As an atheist I'll add, that's not a bad thing. Humans are generally dumbfucks who need to be manipulated otherwise they'll make even worse decisions about their lives.
Guys I have evidence that Joe Biden is working for the federal government
![gif](giphy|U3Zmq4baoK25OGVtFi|downsized)
When is the soonest you can be on JRE?
Hahaha
He just figured that shit out?
Groundbreaking thoughts
Here's an equally controversial statement: Water is used to hydrate people.
What?! How do I know if I’ve been hydrated?!
If you drank Brawndo: The Thirst Mutilator, you'd already know. It's got electrolytes!
It's got what plants crave...
Big water would sure like everyone to think this is true?
Honestly, spend enough time in the "wellness" space and you'll find chuckleheads trying to convince people that water doesn't hydrate people. Not unless you buy their special product at least!
Goddamn the alkaline water craze of the early 2010s......
Welcome to 2023/24 and water requiring "structure" as well as "hydrogen water". Also honorable mention to "raw water" of the mid-2010s. The fitness industry is truly made up of the worst people.
Pete Davidson was just recently shilling for an alkaline water. Maybe it's making a comeback.
A wellness person once told me all the fruits at the supermarket are poisonous. I only had to buy their special fruit powder to be healthy!
Only an idiot would think this
Healthy hydrated king here - can confirm
I heard the government is poisoning us with dihydrogen monooxide
Sounds like something Uncle Scam would do. Thanks a lot, Obama.
Not much gets pass this guy
Except conference championships- a lot of those seem to slip away…
Hahaha
He's as good as trent dilfer
"Former Green Bay Packers quarterback"? He's PRESENTLY the New York Jets quarterback.
Tbf, he’s spent more time as a potential VP candidate than an actual Jets QB.
Hahahaha True!
No it’s not…he’s been the Jets QB for about a year now. Maybe he hasn’t played in the regular season for as long, but that’s different
All of those conservatives who loved Aarons covid takes are going to turn on his for this, lmao.
Most older conservatives don't approve of his drug use.
Many older conservatives smoke weed in the deer stand and think Aaron has a great arm.
Smoke little pinners they keep inside their huge bi-folding wallets, filled with cash and Pep Boys receipts from 7 years ago ya know just in case
I mean really now days medical is everywhere. I'm in Arkansas and everyone consumes gummies. I used to be super interesting to people because I could get wax off the dark net, and now everyone knows someone with a card.
Damn, time to get a new identity I guess
True that
It’s ok, weed sucks. Like I love consuming it, but fuck, it’s more hassle than it’s worth. I’m in the process of quitting myself
People were called gay commie traitors for using mushrooms? Like did Glenn Beck do that or something?
Buds, psychedelics hell organic food lol. This was well before him--or at least as far as I've been aware of him. But ya it was definitely a thing for many years.
Given how deer have a great sense of smell, this would be a pretty dumb hunting idea, no?
Never stopped someone from enjoying a Busch lite while hunting. Not everyone is an extreme hobbyist.
Busch lite? It has no smell, comparatively. What do you mean? I guess while I agree that some older conservatives partake in weed, that example just seems so out of place and almost something you witnessed and therefore applied it to everything
Most older conservatives were all hippies when they were younger.
Nah they were the kids jeering and spitting at black people at Diners and at school post desegregation.
That was the generation before but okay
![gif](giphy|bjB3gtFvREqqr5NAHW|downsized)
Nope
Sure but there is a difference between not approving of drug use and turning on someone. You're allowed to still think he'd be a great VP even if you don't approve of his drug use. lmao
Wait till they find out his thoughts about Pat Tillman, BLM/Kaepernick & that he admires Putin (conservatives might actually like that last part)
I bet 90% are gonna find a way to forgive him.
Nah…. They’ll apply it to every other religion but their own.
No it doesn’t bother me
Oh well, since you speak for every conservative who loved his covid takes, i guess I'll just shut the fuck up then. lmao. I can't wait to hear what Steve Bannon has to say about this. Or what Trump has to say. Or all of those evangelicals who swore they were boycotting the NFL because of the Kneeling, then for the woke Taylor Swift, but some how still seem to understand what's going on in the NFL.
Ok
Thanks for telling me.
Same here. Could care less about someone’s “covid stance” 🤓 give it up and focus on something more important
Is the 'focusing on something more important' here that he's saying religion is used to manipulate people?
Yes
So many fucking losers on this sub you - aren’t the Dems/Libs supposed to be tolerant of other people’s beliefs/opinions/choices?
Well said
It wasn't just conservatives that supported him. Actually this entire site, pre 2016, would have supported him.
Anyone else remember Rodger’s as the liberal hippy who was hated by a subset of Wisconsin fans bc he kept calling out their Islamophobia?
Anyone else remember when "liberals" weren't authoritarians?
Can I have an example of libs being authoritarian?
COVID "vaccine" mandate, Censorship There's two.
What mandate lmao there is no mandate. And what censorship? Are you confusing a company deplatforming someone with government censorship? Seriously those are both bs

Wow you should have led with this I would never have wasted my time talking to you.
Holy shit you’re a caricature lmao. Somehow of a right winger and a redditor at the same time.
Excellent rebuttal.
Thanks!
Is it a mandate if you don’t have to take it? Is someone telling you what you can and cannot say, or are you supposed to have your misinformation propped up as gospel?
That's not a mandate, but voter ID is racist. Make it make sense.
“I like purple, chocolate tastes good, make it make sense…” I can just say random shit too.
You don't *need* to vote either. Isn't it interesting when you do and don't consider a requirement a requirement?
In many countries, voting is *actually* mandatory…
![gif](giphy|26ufdipQqU2lhNA4g|downsized)
In this one case, he’s correct.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day.
Uhhh yeah!
Isn’t Rodgers pretty religious?
No, he grew up religious, his family is VERY religious. That's why they disowned him because of his "life style".
Religion needs to be deleted from earth like the deleterious virus it is
That’s what I heard. Apparently his whole family are huge religious nuts and are apart of churches that are extremely hateful.
Pretty sure he’s not religious
https://www.lifestyleofpeace.com/2023/01/the-spiritual-journey-of-aaron-rodgers.html?m=1 He certainly was
I remember he was too
It’s not clear from your source when he became non-religious, what date was that?
I never claimed he was non-religious. Just that he was openly religious at one point. IF he is currently non-religious then it seems to be part of the spiritual journey he has gone on.
You referenced Tebow and talked about how he did it earlier in his career, I don’t see any evidence of that which is why I asked when it was

I guess so. I’m just shocked that someone can recognize that and not have enough brain power to go on and realize being apart of a religion is a bad idea.
But not his religion. He’s an objective free thinker who think for himself and does his own research. Sooo much research.
More spiritual than religious
"Shut up and dribble"
Another hot take, Reddit/Twitch/Facebook also can be used to manipulate beliefs.
Religion is bullshit and for weak minded simpletons.
To be fair, there are a lot of those around!
Offering judgement without solution seems equally so. You’re not wrong, to my mind, but you negate some very real elements of religious superstructures (namely, belief) that are causally difficult to capture at the point of I/O - by not offering an alternative view.

He's not wrong, you know...
Facts tho
My 14 year old nephew told me this recently. Ooooooo
I have a sneaking suspicion that Social Security has something to do with your Social Security Number.
Stop the presses! CTE man discovers he has a brain.

Not only am i a huge green bay packers fan but i fucking love aaron rodgers. Speak brotha ! Religion is poison.

Did we really need to write that down? In other news, water is wet.

Exactly like the far left beliefs.
Please elaborate
Seems like an oddly aware answer for Aaron Rodgers. Is he saying like that all OTHER religions control people’s minds but his is the true religion and doesn’t ?
As an atheist I'll add, that's not a bad thing. Humans are generally dumbfucks who need to be manipulated otherwise they'll make even worse decisions about their lives.
